Favourite Jobbers

Which do you remember growing up as a kid? Been watching some old WWF Superstars and seeing some old names.

Iron Mike Sharpe, Mr. X, Barry O, The Duke of Dorchester Pete Doughty, Terry Gibbs, Tiger Cheung Lee.

Here's one that's chock-full of them.

I've always liked Richards. :y:

Would Val Venis be considered a jobber?

He clearly was towards the end of his career but in his prime he was Intercontinental Champion.

If he's included he gets my vote as best jobber, and I think I can speak on behalf of Noid by saying Val's his too.

CSL 08-25-2009 02:34 PM

Iron Mike Sharpe for sure

Iron Mike Sharpe, P.J. Walker (I think he got a fluke win over IRS via a Razor Ramon distraction), and Barry Horowitz. Then obviously the Brooklyn Brawler.

Jumpin' Jim Brunzell was more notable for his work with The Killer Bees, but he was definitely a jobber after that run. WCW also had this geek named Johnny Attitude.

Oddly enough, I never noticed how much Scotty Flamingo looks like John Morrison. It would be cool if Morrison eventually developed into a Raven-esque character.

As said, Whatley and Brawler, but the win overall has to go to Barry Horowitz.

Also, at least in WCW, La Parka.

If you can make me enjoy Batista... You just might be able to do anything.

Gertner 08-27-2009 01:57 AM

Simon Dean was not a jobber. I think people are confusing low card wrestlers with jobbers. James Curtis is a modern day jobber.

Add: Dennis Friggen Stamp in the AWA.

Mario Mancini, The Shadows, Jake the Milkman Milliman, Jose Luis Rivera.

How was he? He won a decent amount of matches. A jobber is a no name guy who has no contract.

Hardcore Holly towards the end of his career, and Shannon Moore.

DAMN iNATOR 08-27-2009 03:53 AM

Oh, and also, Sean O'Haire. He was kind of like WWE's "anti-Punk" (i.e., he had promos that would tell people that you could do whatever you wanted without consequences, or that if there were consequences, they would have minimal effect on your life), plus who could forget his classic catchphrase: "...but I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know." Holly lost the tag team belt in his final match. Jobbers are wrestlers who NEVER win.

I guess this depends on the definition of a jobber. You see, to me, Chavo, at the moment, is someone I'd call a jobber. He goes out every week and gets beaten up by a midget.

I'm guessing that in your opinion, he wouldn't be a jobber because he's been World Champion? (Albeit ECW World Champ.)

Personally, I think the jobber is a level on the wrestling hierarchy.

Anybody Thrilla 08-27-2009 11:31 AM

Sean O'Haire was not a fucking jobber.
