The Pink Slip Pool 09-10 (Results posted, only the 8-9 months late)
No idea how this is gonna go over, could sink like Kennedy's headlining prospects but we shall see. If it does, nevermind huh.
(September 1st 2009-September 1st 2010) Rules: Same kind of idea as the Dead Pool, you pick 10 WWE wrestlers you think could potentially be released/fired/might quit/die over the next 12 months (retirements do not count HBK fans) and PM them to my inbox. You score 100 points per correct wrestler plus 5 points per individual title reign in WWE. Wrestlers must be on either the RAW, Smackdown or ECW roster as of today (September 1st) excluding Jeff Hardy, who is still listed on Smackdown and Lilian Garcia on RAW, who has announced she's leaving. You have until the start of RAW next week for entries to be in. Bonuses: "First Blood" - If one of your picks is the first wrestler released during the alloted time period, bonus of 10 points. "Last Man Standing" - If one of your picks is the last release of the alloted time period, bonus of 10 points. "Single" - If you're the only person to pick a performer, bonus of 20 points. "Tag Team" - If you're one of two players with a pick, bonus of 10 points. "Kirk Angel Bonus" - 25 bonus points if the wrestler has ever held either the WWE or World Heavyweight championship "Bathturd Bonus" - 25 bonus points if the wrestler is involved in a PPV main event in the 6 months prior to his/her exit (So it was like 7-8 months, bite me) "Layfield Energy Bonus" - 10 bonus points if the wrestler held a championship belt in the 6 months prior to his/her release (WWE, WHC, IC, US, Tag, Womens, Divas) "Masterpiece Bonus" - 5 bonus points if the wrestler was released due to the Wellness Policy "Grand Slam" - Clear your entire roster and get 50 bonus points. I was considering including deaths as a bonus but I thought it might be a bit morbid. But fuck it, yeah, quite a few of the people that have sent me lists have a lot of the same people on so yeah, adds a bit more variety. Not as a bonus mind you, just standard. Since the odds of anybody dying are pretty short, I'm guessing not many peeps would go for it but if you've submitted a list and think it actually might happen, feel free to re-send a list. Like I said, Monday is the cutoff. Ditto if anybody wants to change any of their picks.

It started September 1st, as soon as your picks are in, you're eligible to score. You have until RAW starting next week to change your list but obviously if anybody left the company before that and they happened to show up on the new list, it wouldn't count ;)

Not if he's still under contract. I know his talent contract expired but I'm not sure on his situation internally. For the sake of awkwardness, I think a person should have made a clean break from the company in order to 'score'.

Truth, Show and Festus on my list are looking less and less likely (though Truth has the best chance of release atm). Otherwise, I'm gold.
Show was really a wild card for me, though, to mix things up. |
I dunno. I don't watch Smackdown so I can't really comment on how 'important' he may come across but I've seen stranger releases than somebody in Festus/Gallows' shoes.

-Primo: As said, pretty likely unless they still plan on having Tito/Orlando Colon called up. -Festus/Luke Gallows: Really depends on if the Straight Edge Society lasts into the foreseeable future. If/when the group ends, he'd probably be a budget cut candidate. -The Bellas: I initially had them on my list for 2 reasons - 1) when I wrote my list they were in ECW for some reason, where they had nothing to do and 2) when one goes, so will the other. However, I was reading that Vince pretty much has a hard on for them so they're likely safe with their Guest Host interactions. -Abraham Washington: Dunno about this one either. Management obviously see something in him since he got an ECW stint and is still being stored in FCW where he continues to do the Abraham Washington Show as well as commentary. His release is likely not imminent.</font> |
Over a year after the last post and some 8-9 months after the scoring period finished, since which the latest Pink Slip Pool has been summoned into action, I'll have the results of this in a minute. Yes, my night has been shuffled around to the point that it became completely and utterly uneventful so I figured I'd tally this up. Nearly done.

Dreamer also scored the First Blood bonus for being the first of the eligible group released. *Carlito was the only wrestler to 'score' the Masterpiece bonus for being released due to the Wellness Policy. He only made a small amount of lists however. *Droford picked The Miz, Stealth-Icon picked Cody Rhodes and jamesdiesel plumped for Sheamus. A surprising amount of people went for R-Truth and even more for Rey Mysterio. Ted DiBiase, Jack Swagger, Santino Marella and Chavo Guerrero were other surprising picks. Tyler Reks meanwhile appears to have surprised everybody, appearing on most lists but still being employed even now. Same goes for Curt Hawkins and Primo Colon. *There were a lot of releases that fell outside of the scoring period including Luke Gallows (who was on just about every list) Jillian Hall, Shad Gaspard and more. |
