Yeah, I'm a nerd now. Got this Magic game on the 360 and now I'm addicted. Downloaded the Magic online game for the pc and been playing the free trial shits. I'll eventually get on the full version later.

It's just a card game! No different then playing poker. :shifty:

And yeah. I've had 200/200 GS from DotP for most of the time it's been out. Shame the new patch sucks so badly.

There's a much better game out there for the PC, though it's much older. It's more of an RPG where you earn the cards by roaming a world. There's torrents out there, and I have it somewhere. It's called the same thing, so it's tricky to find. Crushes the XBLA version.

I don't think it's called the same thing, because I had that for the PC. Still do, but it won't run on my computer on XP.

I actually have the cd for that game. That game is amazing. The one where random creatures will walk up to you and you can duel them or pay them to fuck off? I love this game, mostly because the more ou beat people the more free cards you get. I had a sick black deck once, but then the game crashed and I lost it all. :/

Its definitely the same name, and has an expansion too. I still have both discs, but the RPG part crashed ridiculous amounts for me. Everyone is making me want to pull it out again though.

Edite: The correct title appears to be "Shandalar." This sounds like the right one, though I don't know where the game is.

I've been getting back into it for the first time since the late 90s recently.

If Magic the Gathering online had maybe a 15 per month MMO model I would play it.

I'm not buying virtual cards though.

Shandalar... yeah, I have that game. Fun to fool around with a bit. The first or second turn wins that are capable with not a whole lot of effort involved are quite funny and show why cards like time twister, the moxes and black lotus were never reprinted.

I recently sold my entire card collection for my 360, I would get the online one but I havent gotten around ot it yet.

I'm going to try and see if I can get the new Manalink update working with the old game. They've supposedly added over 2000 cards on top of what all the expansions had.

Yeah the online pc version is free to play with a bunch of pre made decks for as long as you want.

The new decks are supposed to be different decks entirely, though it looks like they're done by the same characters. Cries of Rage is the name of one, confirmed a couple months back.

The DLC for DotP went up this morning. All I can say is: Holy fuck.

Well, I haven't played around with the new decks much, but in the process of the unlocks, I got to preview them. I got memory erosioned within an inch of my life....Seriously, chucking four cards to play a single card? I thought one of them was bad.

Nicol Bolas' deck has mad creature control. And several ways to draw cards. The Elf deck finally gets the Piper, which makes sense, only to get a new Elf in the Cries of Rage deck that would make sense in the Elf deck. Though it works in that other deck. Still, with limited customisation, it's frustrating to find your last unlock is...Another Taira's Rebelion. Booourns.

Still, 3 new challenges, 3 new decks, a five level "campaign," and more unlocks for each deck. It expands the game...Now if only I could go three games without the system locking it up.

Tez's deck is definitely less potent out of the box, BTW. It's the only one I've played at all, and they fluff it with...Ornothopers? Yeah, wouldn't want to risk drawing something useful....

Got the expansion and played it for the last couple of nights on my nephew's 360 since this game seems to freeze every time on mine.

Yea, he's not nearly as a pain in the ass as Tezzeret was. Gotta love the black deck and it's discard abilities. :D

You guys serious? Tez was a walk in the park for me compared to Nic.

Could be the decks I used too, but it took me a few tries to beat Tez cuz he kept getting lucky as shit with those artifacts and would always seem to find a way to keep pumping them up and I had nothing to block with. I ended up beating him with the blue deck because I kept using counterspell on his shit.

Went ahead and paid the 10 bucks for the online PC game. You get 800 cards so it's a pretty good deal. Been playing the pre constructed decks for now but I'll make my own later.

how much are expansions on the PC? I mean, whatever you call them...Boosters, etc.

4 bucks for 15 card booster packs. 12 to 20 bucks for theme decks.

Makes sense. I don't know if I'd really bother with that. I like DotP because it's simple, easy, and casual.

Just pulled the greatest comeback ever! Was down to 1 life and Nissa Revine or whatever her name is had 32. Playing with Mind of Void, had 2 flying creatures with 5/6 and killed off her 1/1 creatures, she tried to finish me with Drain Life, countered it. Then she just kept drawing forests while I pummeled her into submission.

God I need a life. :(

Have you guys heard about the Magic the gathering Tactics game coming out? Hopefully that will be worth grabbing.

The only thing that makes it effective in the hands of the AI is that they get predertermined draws.

Been playing Magic Online for PC quite a bit. Just constructed my first deck called Fire and Dread and won several matches with it. :cool:

They need the option to make your own decks in the 360 version. It's fun to see it all come together.

On a related note, DotP still has a progress delete glitch. My buddy found it out the hard way, a day before my 360 died. I checked the Wizards forum, and it's not even uncommon.

Meanwhile, Stainless Games is getting rewarded for their XBLA glitchfest with a new deal.

At least have the option. Like have matches for regular Planeswalker decks and matches for constructed decks. Magic online has it.

Magic Online is a different animal. If you want Magic Online, play Magic Online.

Not it's not. It has the same Planeswalker decks as the 360, just some extra stuff. They need to make the deck building option. Period. :mad:

I sold mine to buy my 360, still wish I had them though. I was beast.

It's pretty much my life outside of the internet. Same with Hornicane.

I go up to some friends and family and say, "Hey, wanna play some Magic the Gathering with me?" and they give me weird looks.

Still have all my cards, but I haven't played in years. I'm a board game collector now instead. More worth the money.

Oh dear. The same decks. Well, that makes the games identical.

You know, except one is designed as a completely pick up and play title and one is not.

Only thing the game really needs is the ability to remove basic cards to create a sixty card deck out of the pre-fabs.

At the Wizards of the Coast site they say they are working on it.

The fix was up by like noon, but then it had trouble downloading. Some people still are, but I have it.

Got home and got the fixed version.

Had a little trouble with the first Sorin but finally beat him. I have it on Planeswalker difficulty.

Played 6 ranked matches in a row with full deck of Relics of Doom. Didn't win even 1.

Fucking bullshit.

Lol, I smash it online with Ears of Elves, Heat of Battle and another one I can't remember the name of.

Wish you could unlock that vampire deck though.
