Family Guy

I know this show has "jumped the shark" and it is "not kewl to like this show anymore" but the "season premiere" on Sunday was tremendous. All the different animations and stuff were incredible, esp the Disney shit. I dunno BRO but I really enjoyed it.

Also The Cleveland Show was awful. Really "wanted to like it" but damn.

Triple A 09-29-2009 04:30 AM

CSL 09-29-2009 04:30 AM

Gonna watch it tomorrow. Honestly about 20% more optimistic about it after reading that.

thecc 09-29-2009 04:31 AM

I enjoyed the episode too. Really thought American dad was great.

Triple A 09-29-2009 04:32 AM

It wasn't necessarily "hilarious" but it was really "creative"/cool imo.

D Mac 09-29-2009 04:37 AM

Who said it wasn't cool to like this show. Those fuckers can suck a fat one.

Juan 09-29-2009 04:40 AM

Yeah, the Disney style animation was way cool .

Triple A 09-29-2009 04:40 AM

I don't know but the last few seasons have been extremely hit or miss. Lotta "stinkers" but there are still some real funny eps.

Bad Company 09-29-2009 07:39 AM

Pretty awesome episode, but the ones revolving around Stewie and Brian usually are.

Requiem 09-29-2009 08:00 AM

Yeah, haven't been too big on Family Guy in a while, but I really liked this episode. Like Triple A said, it wasn't hilarious but it was a cool concept and it did have some funny moments.

Skippord 09-29-2009 09:57 AM

I liked it

The Cleveland Show however made me want to kill someone/something/myself

Boondock Saint 09-29-2009 02:13 PM

Never stopped loving this show. This week was great. American Dad was great as well.

Wasn't impressed with Cleveland but I will give it time. It's already been picked up for a 2nd season so it's not going anywhere.

Tornado 09-29-2009 02:31 PM

Havn't seen it, will probably have to wait ages till it's on in the UK.

BigDaddyCool 09-29-2009 03:24 PM

I like it. Family Guy jumped the shark the first episode, that is pretty much the point of the series.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-29-2009 05:26 PM

It was a lot better than what they've put out in recent seasons. Family Guy has always been better when they've let the jokes come from the story rather than writing the story around a bunch of jokes.

The Simpsons was pretty decent as well. I think Everyman is actually a pretty cool concept for a superhero.

Cleveland Show was awful. American Dad wasn't bad.

D Mac 09-29-2009 06:25 PM

This, Simpsons, South Park, and Beavis and Butthead will forever be the funniest cartoon shows off all time.

Kris P Lettus 09-29-2009 07:00 PM

Ren and Stimpy

D Mac 09-29-2009 07:26 PM

meh

KYR 09-29-2009 09:02 PM

I loved it.

Reminded me of the time me and Gary Coleman went cruisin' for chicks in Boca.

LuigiD 09-29-2009 11:21 PM

I loved the New Family Guy.
As far as the Cleveland show, I think it will take some time for viewers to adapt and accept the identity of the show. I thought it was funny but not amazingly funny. I will watch it tho.

Jeritron 09-30-2009 12:10 AM

Was this weeks Simpson's the one written by and guest starring Seth Rogen?

Jeritron 09-30-2009 12:12 AM

just got the answer to my question. FUCK. I wanted to watch that.

Anyone got the hookup?

Jura 09-30-2009 02:09 AM

American Dad has been better for a while now.

Skippord 09-30-2009 04:07 AM

God dammit Jura, I can't tell when I've posted or when it's you posting things I would say

Skippord 09-30-2009 04:08 AM

but I did like American Dad

Droford 09-30-2009 02:54 PM

Someone watched a Sliders marathon. That was one of my favorite shows in the mid 90's..and SyFy doesn't run it anymore ..bah

American Dad was great though. Simpsons was pretty decent too.

If I had any hope for Cleveland, Id say they have a great 2 hour block going. As it is, I can see it getting bumped for random reruns of other shows.

SuperSlim 09-30-2009 03:35 PM

Cleveland show had it's moments but overall for a debut episode it was aight. Definitely worth a second watching at least to see where they go with some of that stuff.

But Family Guy was good yet again. It was just funny. No way I would stop watching that show.

Buzzkill 09-30-2009 03:39 PM

Never watch Family Guy anymore but caught this episode, pretty damn good.

Only part I lol'd at was the "HOW'S IT FEEL TO BE ON A REAL NETWORK" line in the Robot Chicken universe

Fignuts 09-30-2009 03:41 PM

Think that joke was in bad taste?

He's a cheeseburger who cares?

Buzzkill 09-30-2009 03:42 PM

Oh yeah lol

Sixx 10-01-2009 07:02 PM

http://www.familyguyx.net/

I always use this site to watch the episodes, as I can't stand the Family Guy with a lector they show on Polish Comedy Central. One guy trying to do voices for all the characters. Seriously, what the fuck?

Jon Kano 10-05-2009 10:34 PM

Lastest episode = shit

LuigiD 10-05-2009 11:19 PM

I thought the latest one was pretty funny. Specially the intro with the Justice League.

Jon Kano 10-05-2009 11:21 PM

What was funny about it? They were in other superhero costumes.

The only bit i laughed at was when Quagmire's henched arm was revealed after he came out of his after discovering internet porn.

Yeah I agree with you one hundred per cent. Just god fucking awful.

Gertner 10-06-2009 01:52 AM

Last nights episode was tremendous.

Supreme Olajuwon 10-06-2009 10:20 AM

Gonna echo Kano here. What was funny about it?

Supreme Olajuwon 10-06-2009 10:20 AM

Having an affair with a cardboard cutout (Hilarious!)
Peter singing Billy Ocean (Nostalgia!)
More Jew jokes (Controversial!)
Schindler's List jokes (Outrageous!)
Temple of Doom reference (Hey remember when they already used this same joke before!)
Mark Wahlberg jokes (That'll show him!)
Jesus as a liberal (Can they do that?!)

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-06-2009 10:23 AM

If you found that episode funny (Gertner) you are what's wrong with society.

Droford 10-06-2009 10:33 AM

The Cleveland Show was actually funnier..I couldnt believe it.

I did like the part about Quagmire thinking he was getting the spinoff.

Gertner 10-06-2009 12:23 PM

Sorry if Family Guy was too low brow for your tastes. Perhaps some sharp biting political humour like Mark Russell is more up your alley.

I highly doubt that people thinking Family Guy is what is wrong with society.

LuigiD 10-06-2009 12:33 PM

The JL part was funny just because I grew up watching it.
Besides for that though, I thought all the Jew jokes were hysterical, specially the references to Schindler's list. I was with my father and he hates family guy..he actually found this episode so offensive that he laughed. I think they handled all of the religious stuff pretty well. You guys are going to say that the last part at the end when they discuss the connections between Judaism and Christianity was not funny? specially when Brian mentions Islam? I thought that part was hysterical since a lot of my colleges classes always drilled that..they are all the same.

Gertner 10-06-2009 12:37 PM

The Parker Lewis cut scene was tremendous. lol that was one of my favourite shows growing up.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-06-2009 12:50 PM

it wasn't too low brow. It was just shit that was stupid and unfunny. There's no subtlety anymore it's just like "BLAHHHHHHHH I'M SETH MCFARLANE LOOK HOW FUNNY I AM".

And I wasn't being serious about family guy being what's wrong with society. It just sucks a big thick cock.

Gertner 10-06-2009 01:18 PM

I thought it was tremendous. Should be noted that I'm a casual Family Guy viewer.

Droford 10-06-2009 01:36 PM

I think its funny that this ep got the greenlight and yet "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein" got pulled in 2000 over the same basic Jew jokes.

We've come a long way in almost 10 years!

As am I. I see some eps that are funny then I see ones like this one, and I remember why I only watch it once in a while. Fucking pathetic. Really? The cut out? Come on!

Buzzkill 10-06-2009 04:29 PM

Considering Seth MacFarlane isn't Jewish, he needs to watch his shit.

The cut out was stupid. Loved the part where Quagmire thought he was getting the spin off, thought the jew jokes were pretty funny, and LOVED the Parker Lewis reference.

Jew jokes were over done and not funny, and as a jew I usually find jew jokes funny, don't know who parker lewis is... the quagmire thing was funny, and the mark wahlberg thing was stupid.

Peter's character used to be funny, now he's just an annoying jackass.

Skippord 10-06-2009 09:08 PM

I don't really remember anything but the Mark Whalberg thing was irritating

Droford 11-08-2009 09:08 PM

Peter kicking the crap out of Lucy for moving the football on Charlie Brown was both funny and oddly disturbing.

LOL at Brian being in Die Hard as well.

Droford 11-08-2009 09:38 PM

whoever thought this live show was a good idea should be shot. repeatedly.

Jon Kano 11-08-2009 09:43 PM

So what's the deal, the last new ep was like 2/3 weeks ago, where are the new fucking episodes? been waiting for ages for a new run to start, they on a another break or what?

Droford 11-08-2009 09:44 PM

uh..there was a new episode 40 minutes ago (east coast time) and theres a new one on after this crapfest live show.

Jon Kano 11-08-2009 09:46 PM

OK, just that spy one was well over a week ago, maybe two. And I just checked ninjavideo.net and still nothing. But cheers.

Wow, dunno if I actually would believe that its live since its just the voices.

Droford 11-08-2009 09:52 PM

I cant tell if Marlee Matlin was really pissed off or not, but that was probably the funniest thing so far.

Jura 11-09-2009 12:19 AM

I hate when they have episodes where Brian is in a relationship.

Nervous Ferret 11-09-2009 12:38 AM

h8 family guy these days

DAMN iNATOR 11-10-2009 09:24 AM

I didn't really care for the Hannah Banana episode so much, but Brian's Got A Brand New Bag was pretty tremendous.

KYR 12-13-2009 11:55 PM

So, has anyone else seen the recent 'Star Wars, something, something, dark side' episode.

Gotta say had some very funny bits in it.

But who was Yoda? I'm assuming he was supposed to be some well known American but I have no idea who it was.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-14-2009 02:09 AM

Yoda was just that guy who works at the gas station. Nothing special.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-14-2009 02:10 AM

http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/fa.../2/26/Carl.jpg

Carl.

KYR 12-14-2009 02:10 AM

Oh. OK. Well that was pretty lame then.

KYR 12-14-2009 02:12 AM

Was actually waiting for Meg to show up as Yoda, but then when
SPOILER: show
I saw her show up as that monster in the asteroid I figured that was all we'd get.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-14-2009 02:19 AM

I dont think the episode is airing until like May so we should probably not spoil it

KYR 12-14-2009 02:23 AM

No I agree. But I thought it was being aired in the States next week (or the week after) as a Christmas Special.

I could be wrong.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-14-2009 09:04 AM

Oh you're right. Last I checked it was going to be the season finale, but I guess they pushed it up. Makes sense though if they want to get the DVD out before Christmas.

Droford 12-14-2009 10:18 AM

I wanna say, for the record, that American Dad last night was the best episode ever.

If they would put the creative effort that they put into AD into FG..

Definitely one of the best episodes of any series I've seen in a while.

DAMN iNATOR 12-14-2009 03:55 PM

What, Family Guy was awesome last night. Especially that little "Scooby-Doo" like montage, and the end scene where Peter gets suspended in mid-air...:lol:

Chavo Classic 12-15-2009 12:01 PM

Family Guy has been awful since it's reincarnation for Series 4.

There's definately a demand for Seth MacFarland's type of humour, but for me it's become too diluted in painfully outdated pop culture and internet meme references, long musical segments, way too many cutback scenes, and lazy writing.

Seasons 2 to 3 on DVD, or American Dad to a lesser extent, are evidence of MacFarland's better work.

http://images.encyclopediadramatica....Familyguy9.gif

DAMN iNATOR 12-16-2009 05:41 AM

You call American Dad his better work, as opposed to Family Guy? That show (American Dad) couldn't make a dental patient on nitrous oxide laugh...

Juan 12-16-2009 05:52 AM

I like Family Guy, but American Dad is indeed superior. This past Sundays episode was fantastic.

Skippord 12-16-2009 06:54 AM

love American Dad

Sixx 12-16-2009 07:09 AM

Haven't watched AD for over a year, and now downloaded a couple of new episodes.

It delivers, as always.

Inadequacy 12-16-2009 10:39 AM

American Dad is amazing

Triple A 12-16-2009 01:22 PM

Didn't see this week's but yeah American Dad has been great

Buzzkill 12-16-2009 03:45 PM

Don't watch either really, but American Dad >>>> Family Guy

Humor is way more subtle

Doesn't say much for Family Guy then.

American Dad has the edge because it sticks to the story, doesn't depend on cut-away gags, and has several basic but entertaining characters. Family Guy is just a mess.

Schlomey 12-27-2009 12:38 PM

I like the straight forward idiocy of Family Guy but I'll be the first to admit that American Dad has gotten better over time & is easily where the more thoughtful scripts go.

Case and point: The episode where Dad falls in love with My Morning Jacket...so beautiful and random.

D Mac 12-27-2009 07:38 PM

Watched the new Star Wars Empire Strikes back parody and it as alright.

How the hell did they sneak an Adult Swim commercial onto the FOX Broadcast?

EDIT: LOL at the Rock beating Peter and Lois' figures together to simulate them having sex because they can't show it on network tv due to the FCC..omg

Seth McFarlen just took the piss out of Adult Swim.

Hence the [as] commercial.

Shaggy 01-07-2010 01:56 AM

I loved the opening Family Feud part with Stewie answering the question for Lois. Laughed after every answer.

Supreme Olajuwon 01-07-2010 01:59 AM

That episode was atrocious. I don't see how you people can laugh at this. Like maybe a "haha that's cute" or a "hey I remember that" chuckle, but this is not fucking comedy.

CSL 01-07-2010 07:53 PM

Seriously. The show is pretty much consistantly terrible nowadays, only parts I found 'amusement' in were the 'can't wait to find out what sex with the rest of you is like' followed by the Meg's joke being shit on and Quagmire in the supermarket. With how bad Something Something Darkside was combined with the overall quality of the last few seasons, I think I'm about done with the show :-\

Savio 01-08-2010 05:39 PM

"whats ya beef stranger?"

Juan 05-03-2010 04:28 AM

This season has been pretty disappointing, but last night's episode was pretty great. No gags, no cut-a-ways, only Brian and and Stewie locked in a vault for 2 days. I really liked it.

Droford 05-03-2010 04:31 AM

I was thinking it was probably one of the best Family Guy eps in a long time and also how in the world they got away with it.

The Clip Show part was dumb though. I get that it was the 150th ep and all but it was unnecessary. The bit with Pearl was fun though considering it had the World Trade Center and Corey Haim in it.

American Dad is still chugging along BUT Reggie the Koala is pissing me off and I hope they get rid of it.

Juan 05-03-2010 04:34 AM

Yeah, that Reggie stuff is really lame. The rest of that show has been great as usual though

LuigiD 05-03-2010 12:16 PM

Agree about this season of Family Guy. I use to look forward to watching Family Guy every Sunday night but now..I don't care. i hope the show picks up.
