You are seriously psyched enough on transformers 3 to post a topic about it having a story?
Come on man get it together |
Have you read those comic movie threads I have?
|
This is now the official Transformers 3 thread. I don't want to have to merge 10 more Transformers 3 Trailers threads 6 months from now.

lol

It's back, and now you have an option...
http://www.transformersmovie.com/destroy/ http://www.transformersmovie.com/protect/ |
At least Megan Fox is to die in this part. I might watch it because of this single fact.
|
Actually Fox's reps are denying that as rumor. Yeah... "They would," but it doesn't make since now either. I doubt the franchise will go beyond three movies and a moment like killing Fox's character would have been better served in part 2. Doing something like that in the last movie would feel like a 'stunt' plot point.

Anyone who likes this movie is a faggot.

TF and TF2 had story. You're probably thinking about plot, but I still think the movie series did a damn good job at what it set out to do. I loved them both.
|
Well you love crap.

And you loved sugerbutt. What's the difference?

I've loved transformers hard and longer than you ever have. I just hate how they have let themselves go.

#2: Whether you love it harder is subjection. Why even say that? 'Cause you have a TF avy? C'mon, BDC. #3: Who let what go? TF has been under several teams of management over the years. You can't honestly believe the same group has been making decisions for all of it's media. Also, TF is alive and very well. Hasbro killed last year with the RotF media blitz, just like it did with the first movie, just as they did with the various (not-so-great) anime series. You or me may not like it's various incarnations but that doesn't change it's ongoing success. They're handling it perfectly fine. Go pop in a G1 DVD and enjoy 'story' there. |
1) No you haven't.
2) No, because I'll stab you if you say other wise. 3) Shut up. 4) Maybe I will. |
#5: Optimus Primal is cooler than Optimus Prime.
|
5) No he isn't, but I did enjoy beast wars because it was clearly not cannon.
|
I was joking, G1 Prime is a father to me. But Beast Wars became canon in the 2nd Season when they tied G1 to it. You know this, now accept it.
|
Something like that.
|
Well Beast Machines was a joke so I can imagine skipping the whole affair for that goofy ending.
|
Yeah, whatever Brendon.
|
...As in Brendon Small?
|
Yes.
|
I've heard the comparison made before.
|
I wasn't making a comparison. I was just saying whatever because I was bored with it.
|
Why type anything?
|
I want to increase my post count.
but there are stars coach. |
Why are they continuing this shitty franchise and not batman?

The first live-action Transformers was good; not great. It got way too cluttered at the end, and Megatron was sort of done horribly. The sequel made me regret life.
I still feel that the best Transformers movie was the animated classic. "Megatron?!? Is that you?!?" "Here's a hint." |
Noid, this is a rare time when I agree with you.
|
I guess I can see why a transformers fanatic would get all spazzy about these movies, but I dunno why anyone else wouldn't enjoy them.
It's giant robots beating the shit out of one another, with lots of explosions in the background. BDC, I would argue that anyone who DOESN'T like these movies is a fag. Honestly, I think people expect too much out of these blockbuster action movies. Sure it's a bonus when it has a great story, like Dark Knight and Iron Man, but to expect that everytime is just silly. You can usually tell from the trailers what you are going to get, and if you can't just relax and enjoy it for what it is, then go read a fucking book instead, you artsy littile gaylord. |
C'mon Fignuts. I agree with you that the first movie should be enjoyable to anyone with a pulse that isn't too pretentious, but the second was fairly awful. I can't in good conscience lump them together in the same category.
I was one of the biggest advocates of the first during these debates on here, and I went into the second movie with the same realistic expectations. I had a good time because I was with friends, but I will never see that movie again. |

Transformer 2's numbers are thanks largely in part to the first movie. That movie was well recieved, especially as time went on in video format.
2 sucked, and most people seemed to think so. Part 3 will do significantly worse |
The biggest problem I have with the live action movies is that during the fights its difficult to tell who's fighting who and who's winning. This was better in #2 than #1, but it still needs work, IMHO.
|
I think it's a double edge sword. In TF1 the fights were so closely shot to better integrate with the live action sets, that we're humans caught up in their crazy war. If they were to stage the fights traditionally, people would have complained that there's too much focus on CGI and it's some Pixar effort. The gamble proved too chaotic, however, and people went at it.
In TF2, there's less effort to integrate with the live sets and actors as they focused more on backed up, full view shots of the robots and the fighting. This actually killed it for me, and the scenes of the TFs were so obviously 2nd unit shots with no real world interaction (compare BB vs Barricade in TF to Prime vs Megatron/Fallen, one tries to put their fight in our world the other is straight videogames). How the fights and the robots are presented is a delicate line. |
That's exactly why the second film was so much worse than the first. That type of thought put into robot fights and not the fundamental elements of a good film
|
For TF3 I'd go back to the style of robot/real world integration. Like scenes in TF1 where Prime carries Mikaela to Sam's window, how seamless and subtly awesome that was, needs to come back. Barricade interrogating Sam in the junkyard, pounding that car Sam was on - fucking awesome. TF2 doesn't even attempt scenes like this. And yes, that means shooting the action TF1 style, barely keeping up with giant, impossibly fast alien robots.
|
Michael Bay says he's been scouting locations in Chicago, Detroit and Washington, D.C., for the third film, and once again he hints it'll be more introspective. "The script is feeling very different than the other two," he says.
|
I liked TF1 and TF2 about the same tbh. Will also probably be the case with the third one.
|
I personally don't understand all the hate that TF2 gets; especially when compared to TF1. TF1 had way too much bullshit that bogged down the story for me. All the crap with the parents and the entire scene where the Autobots are "hiding" in Sam's yard; terrible. There were a few good action sequences and some nice interactions between the Transformers, but overall I felt it was lacking what I came to see: robots beating the shit out of one another.
TF2 gave us all the action we could want. From the opening scene up until the last battle, the entire film is almost nothing but Transformers fighting and chasing each other. But that's the fucking point for me. I didn't come to see Oscar worthy performances or "The Wire"-like intricate storytelling. I came to see a fight. A big fucking fight. And that's what they gave me. It didn't have all the way-too-close shots that TF1 had; it backed up the camera and gave a wide view of the action, which was incredible to say the least. I'm a big fan of TF2 and I still enjoy watching it now. Hopefully TF3 will be even better. |
Tranformers 3 : C4 For Whores

Anyone thinking T3 will be in 3D? Hoping Bay doesn't jump on that gimmick.

These movies are all shit.

and 200% MORE emotion. Holy fuck was Optimus' dying the animated classic an Old Yeller moment. :'( |
James Avery, who was known as Uncle Phil on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air will reportedly voice new Autobot, Silverbolt in T3. Take this with a grain of salt, as it would be the first word of official casting (minus regulars Shia, Fox, and Cullen).
James Avery has lent his voice to TMNT's (80's) Shredder, and James "War Machine" Rhode's Spider-Man (Fox Kids) cameo. Silverbolt is remembered as the gentlemen to a fault Maximal from Beast Wars, who's cheesy, Captain Marvel-like heroics annoyed even his own teammates. Filming will kick off in Spring (perhaps May). |
Wonder how they'll be using Silverbolt though.
Perhaps as the Autobot partner to Megan Fox's character? |
I was thinking Megan should be paired with the surviving Arcee sister to have a feminine counter-point to Sam and BB's bromance. The bike Megan got on at the end of T2 could have been Arcee.

Yeah, Sideswipe looked cool all 40secs he was on screen.

Micheal Bay reaffirms his awesome by stating he will not have "Transformers 3D", even as the studio pressures him. Right on, Bay.
|
I don't see how that is awesome of him? The movies have all been awful.
|
Transformers was quality 1 and 2 bdc shut up.
They should do a transformers with the dinobots though. They were awesome. |

It would clash with Bay's style. If people were confused at the action before, multiply that with forced 3D visuals. Then people will have something new to bitch about.
If Bay sincerely wanted to film it in 3D, he should have started right after RotF. You can't rush it or put finished work through a conversion process, it is noticeable. |

Thought Fox had some hissy fit and trashed Bay and these movies.
Also, really hoping they don't add any more stupid comedy relief charcters in this one. Jetfire's kane and beard were also pretty dumb, imo. Less of that kind of nonsense please. |
I hope the twins arent in it.

Director Michael Bay will begin shooting the film this month, according to the report, to be ready for a July 1, 2011 release. |
