The Worst Gimmick Match of All Time
Vote for the worst gimmick match of all time.
|
No Kennel from Hell match?
|
There were some matches I felt didn't need to be on the list as they have had a good history such as...
TLC Ladder Match Hell in a Cell I put the royal rumble match on the list because a majority of them have sucked bad. Just my opinion. |

I wouldn't dare put the jailhouse match with big boss man vs. mountie on there. It was a pretty decent match that the crowd was very into. The footage of the mountie being taken to/put in jail afterwards was genius comedy.
|
I can't wait for TNA to have a Royal Rumble in a cage.
|
Pole Match.
Dammit nothing is worse than watching two 'athletes' struggle to climb a turnbuckle five minutes into a match. |
Ironman match
|
No King of the Mountain match?
|
any vince russo match
:nono: |
I would have voted for Kennel From Hell, but I went with King Of The Road..... TNA's reverse Battle Royal was horrible as well..... Vince Russo's 'creative genius' still amazes me..... long live the days of "Judy Bagwell On a Forklift" Matches :nono:
|
Team Challenge Series is by far the worst, as it was not a single match, but a series of horrible TV.
Who the fuck voted for Lethal Lottery? That is actually one of the few good things to come out of Mid 90s WCW. |
I voted for the Chamber of Horrors match.....WCW was so fake and so generic at the time......you could tell how bad the timing was in this match when Mick Foley had to keep looking over to the chair looking for the spot where Rick Steiner does the belly to belly on Abdullah the Butcher into the chair before he pulled the switch....not to mention the switch fell down during the match right on camera and Cactus pulled it early....one of the worst matches in wrestling history.
The only reason I voted for this match is you didn't include what I consider to be the worst match off all time....The Cage of Doom....WCW only did it once...where it was the Alliance to end Hulkamania vs Team Hogan....basically the Dungeon of Doom and Four Horseman vs Hogan and Savage.....so shitty....and the finish sucked where Booty Man (Beefcake) tosses them frying pans they hit the dudes and walk out of the cage....boring finish and the spots in the match were worked for shit...What do expect out of Hogan or Savage...nothing more and nothing less... |
and By the way whoever voted for a texas bullrope match is a choade.....guess you didn't see Mid South or Championship Wrestling from Georgia in the 80's when the match originated on television for the first time...some of the best matches and who could forget JBL vs Eddie Guerrero at the GAB 2004....that was epic and probably JBL's best match ever in his singles careeer.
Oh and if you vote for Ultimate X...ur a choade mark as well |

First ever Lethal Lottery Match was Marcus Alexander Bagwell and Tommy Rich vs Ricky Morton and El Gigante.....tell me in 1991 you knew who Marcus Bagwell and El Gigante were.....yeah right.... |
The pole match.

No blindfold match?
Of the list though, I'm gonna go with King Of the Road match with pole match a close second for the same reason Rammsteinmad said. |
Where is the Punjabi cage match or something it's called with the bamboo poles and stuff.
I think it would have been a tie for me between that one and the Kennel |
Chamber of Horrors easily
Electric Chair + Cage Match = dumb |
Where's Judy Bagwell on a pole match?
|
SO maybe I will give you the first Lethal Lottery, but Lethal Lottery 96 was the shit with DDP winning. A few bad opening matches does not make the entire deal bad.
Look at how many shitty scrubs were in KOTR qualifying matches throughout the years...shit, Mabel won the shit. |
Judy Bagwell on a poll.
|
No Sumo Monster Truck Match?
Picking from the list, pole match. |

the triple cage match was a good idea, its just a shame that russo booked it, nice bump by kanyon though |

Seeing Casket Match on the list reminded me what a terrible idea the Coffin Match was. It was Undertaker v. Kamala at Wembley and it was a regular match in that you had to gain a pinfall, except then you proceeded to painstakingly nail the coffin lid shut to actually win the match.
|
King of the Clusterfuck (Mountain)
|
pole match
|
Who voted Ultimate X? They should be perma-banned
|
Worst would be Kennel from hell match. But worst from the list would have to be hogpen match.
|
Whats the point in wrestling infront of some pigs and craving a slope fetish for some weirdos.
Wow that'll really settle a feud* |
*sarcasm
|
I voted Hogpen because it's a dumb idea
|
That match with Hogan and Savage vs like 10 people. There was 3 floors and such, ya it was bad.
|
Chamber of Horrors..no contest. Shitty concept, shitty execution.

Lethal Lottery is one of the best concepts ever. Totally agree with Hanson. WWE needs to bring it back.

In 1996, WCW re-vamped the Tower of Doom unsuccessfully as the "Doomsday Cage" which was won by the Team of Hogan/Savage as they defeated Flair/Anderson/Meng/Barbarian/Luger/Sullivan/Z-Gangsta/Ultimate Solution. This was a 3 tier cage of equal sizes with the center cage divided into 2 rooms that was constructed at the entrance way. The top cage held Anderson/Flair. Room 1 of Cage 2 held the Faces of Fear. Room 2 of Cage 2 held Luger/Sullivan. Cage 3 was intended for Gangsta/Solution but they wouldnt enter the match til later once the match ended up in the main ring. In 2000, with the success of Ready to Rumble, a new Tower of Doom cage was constructed that was "40 feet" to the top. This is the modern "Triple Cage match". David Arquette lost the WCW WHC to Jeff Jarrett after hitting DDP with a guitar. The bottom Cage required a ladder to climb to cage 2 which was filled with weapons and deemed Hardcore Heaven. The top cage was filled with guitars and the match was won when Jarrett retrieved the WCW WHC from the top of cage 3. Later in Sept. 2000, Russo brought back the Triple Cage for "Russo's Revenge: War Games 2000". Kevin Nash def. Goldberg/Sting/Jarrett/Steiner/Kronik/Harris Brothers/Ernest Miller/Russo after Russo handed the WCW WHC to Nash after Goldberg was hit with the bottom cage door by Bret Hart. This match had the same rules as the previous Triple Cage except that a new man entered the match every 2 minutes and once retrieving the belt, it had to be brought back down through the cages and out the door on the bottom cage. So actually, there were 4 Triple Cage matches in WCW, the final 3 were WrestleCrap worthy. The first was really decent. Oh, and WCCW was the first company to use a triple stacked cage, as it was named the Triple Dome of Terror. There were a handful of these matches throughout WCCW's history, but to my knowledge, no video recordings exist. I'd still love to check them out if they ever popped up. Ok, I feel like Noid now....:|:wtf: |
Team Challenger series is actually a pretty good idea if they did it today. They'd have to have title shots or something as the incentive for victory.
I can't really think right now how it'd be best executed but I think their is something there. |

The Battle Bowl that came down to Luger and Sting is still one of my favorite shows ever. Just love that concept. |
Surprised that the buried alive match didn't get any votes yet. The match was always cheesy.
