Ah damn. Another huge match-up here. This is pretty hard here but I spent more time as a child watching and hating Vader. He was the ultimate bully and the guy you wanted the good guy to finally beat.
Muta was wonderful from what I saw of him but only got to see alot of his WCW work and nothing more. Vader for me. |
I should not vote here. My Muta memory is sketchy at best & I don't like to vote unless I really know the issues ;)
It's time, it's time, it's Vader Time!!!
It's STILL Vader Time!!
Broken records are good for skeet shooting.
Vader had a mask....so did Muta even though it was paint....but Vader didn't have green and red mist....so Muta gets the win here.
i'm hoping AJ Hayes joines me here and votes for Muta cause I think he's a Muta fan
What's a Muta with you?
Nothing, because I'm voting for Vader. |
Mutoh,
One of the biggest stars in the history of Japan and also the most innovative, most unique performer in all of wrestling. Wrestling for over 25 years, in main events for 20, has created numerous successful gimicks and has carried 2 seperate companies over the last two decades. Now owns, books and performs for AJPW which he saved from going out of business. I love Vader, but he is going up against one of the best workers of all time. |
Oh, and he held six world titles at the same time.

Vader. Haven't seen enough of Muta.
Muta gets my vote.
There was no doubt Muta was great but I thought Vader was slightly better.
Muta, without a doubt. One of the best in the world, ever. If we were all as familiar with Japanese wrestling as we are American wrestling, I have no doubt that we would consider Keiji Mutoh to be on the level we think of Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Ric Flair, Chris Jericho, etc.
Deffinately Muta. One of the all time greats. In my top 10 of all time, easy.

huge Vader mark.... but I love Muta.... I hate to say it, but It's still Vader Time!
Uh oh, a non-WWE wrestler. I'm shocked he's getting so many votes honestly.

Chris Jericho. The only thing against him in this is the shortsightedness, both intentional and unintentional, of many of the posters on here against anything that isn't WWE. |
Love Vader, but you can't deny the greatness of Muta.

Vader has had some mad tough competition. Hopefully it will still be Vader time after this round.
The Great Muta, easily.
The matches Great Muta had with Ric Flair and Sting are priceless.
lol, I love how everyone always throws a snide "easily" or "come on" in there.
To be honest, I have seen very few Muta matches but grew up watching Vader during his time as a wrestler in WWF/WCW. All I know about Muta is that he's reaposnible for bloody matches rated on a Muta scale and his trademark facepaint apperance.
Voted for Vader but mostly because I grew up watching him in the WWF and how agile he was for a big guy. |
Are we voting for the Muta gimmick or the man behind the gimmick?
Whatever you want, chieftain.
OK then, Muta. Wouldn't mind seeing some Japanese contests even if I know they won't get in the hall of fame.
It's ALWAYS Vader time.
Can't wait until I get my Vader shirt. Frothing here.
The Great Muta
I voted Muta because I was all like "hey why not"
But it looks like I tied the vote huzzah. |

its soo close
Have a feeling this is going to end in a shenanigan vote like last round when it was close to end and tied up.
Quote:
edit: I vote Muta, he was a better wrestler if not a more well-known one. This was still a close one though. |
I just voted for Vader, merely for the slip.
Its about lasting memories people. |
Vader is arguably the best big man ever
All the way |

Vader literally made a huge Impact everywhere he went. Almost won the WWE title at multiple times. He was more consistent as well.

why do people havta break out a real name and say ooh Keiji Mutoh..It's Great Muta...Not Leon White vs. Keiji Mutoh...oh and its VADER TIME!!

thus the lack of exposure becomes apparent once more

well I'm sorry i watch AMERICAN wrestling not overseas stuff.
Quote:
Hulk Hogan was trained by Hiro Matsuda from Japan....guys like Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, Owen Hart, Jim Neihardt, Brian Pillman, Perry Saturn, Sting, Ric Flair, Shane Douglas, and many many others of the American wrestlers earned their stripes wrestling in Korea, China, Japan, the UK and all over.... so to say you watch "American" wrestling to me is an assanine statement. By the way...its just my opinion....take it or leave it....just saying don't limit your spectrum of what you watch or think that you are watching is just American based. |
Vader is an international wrestling superstar in his own right.

that was a good match.
Has The Great Muta ever faced Vader in Japan since Vader did spend some time there in his career ?

I know he wrestled in WCW watched him with ICP Vampiro and such. So if you compare American careers then I say Vader had more success. |
Quote:
Muta never had matches good as Vader/Sting series,Vader/Misawa,Vader/Cactus series. He also had an awesome match with HBK and Ric Flair. Main event Summerslam,Starrcade and other ppvs. Retired Antonio Inoki. Won the WCW heavyweight title,IWGP heavyweight title,UWA heavyweight title when it meant something and ALL JAPAN triple crown.
He had thousands of great matches that it's too hard to list. Vader made it to the top of the mountain in America and Japan. Muta just did it in Japan. |
If I was a betting man, I'd say you haven't seen many Muta matches.
Quote:
I've a ton of Muta matches, not recently. Muta never been known for his wrestling skills. It was his gimmick that got him over. People never talk about great Muta matches. Not saying the IWC opinion is the holy grail but you just never hear about them. In Muta prime, people talk about junior heavyweights, ALL Japan heavyweights,Chono and Vader.

lol

He does have a point. We haven't had any Muta polls recently.

Alright, let's stop with this ignorant Muta bashing. USAUSA1, I voted for Vader but want to punch you in the face right now.
IT'S STILL VADER TIME!

Muta, hands down!!!
I was lucky enough to see enough of muta to come to love him but at the same time Vader is just a badass there are no words....hmm I have to go with my main man muta no disrespect to the baby bull though.
