And for the record, I cant stand Tron because of how dumb it looked, but then again I was born the same year it came out and didn't see it til I was like 15 so everything looked dated obviously, but the trailer for the new one looks really awesome.

I believe they waited a little to long to make this film it doesn't really look that much more impressive in fact the original looked better in it's time. Could still be good but it appears they took Tron and gave it the Matrix treatment. I'll have to give it to Disney though this will be the first time in many years that I will go see 2 of their projects.

I saw Tron on the Disney Channel when I was like 9, so this is pretty cool for me on a nostalgic level.

The 25th anniversary of the original was back in '07. Opportunity missed? Absofuckinglutely.

Also, I might be in for a Bluray version of the original if it was remastered and cleaned up a lot.

I have seen the original, but cannot remember much about the story or characters, but when I saw Jeff Bridges in the window, for some reason, I just got a feeling it's gonna be good.

Torrented the first one the other night and watched it again.

Seriously, for how old it is, I think it's fairly good. LOTS of potential to create with the ideas now.

Can't wait for this to come out. I'm very intrigued.

Yeah saw that last night. Went into happy coma after seeing it. Only now just woke up.

Not going to lie. It looks pretty cool in the trailer. BUT. I still don't see the need for a sequel. Especially 25+ years since the original.

It has a cult following who are all grown up now, but will still garner a lot of interest.

The technology today will make 'the look' an interesting and impressive (i think) factor.

The first film didn't expand or include much of its mythology.

There have been a lot of sequels made that didn't need it way more than this.

I'm reviving this rather than creating a thread. Fuck sake I cannot wait to see this. Even Daft Punk doing the OST. My god, I just hope it delivers. Even the tie-in game looks awesome.

After all these years I sure hope this ends up living up to the hype and I can't wait to check it out!

Yeah, a program that was deleted by the MCP. Not to mention at the end of the original, Flynn became CEO of Encom, and would no doubt make the Encom mainframe more in his image/safer/efficient, so he must've re-created Clu and/or the MCP.

Anyway, 'turning heel' is pretty much being corrupted.

Am I one of the few people here who doesn't care about this movie? Or at least nothing about it makes me want to look at trailers and be all hyped about it. If it's decent, I may download it or something, but no hype so far for me.

I had a free ticket good for up to $14 movie on fandango..3d ticket cost $12..why not see it in 3D?

Also not happy that Disney isn't releasing the remastered version of Tron on Blu before this hits theatres. I saw it on HDNet back in March and it was awesome but I would like to see it again.

Pretty sure SOMEONE's gonna show it on tv again reight before the release. They usually do.

So the Tron Facebook page has this app where you can add your face to a Tron scene. It is fun and cool. You should do this too

The official plot synopsis of Tron 3, the movie sequel to Tron legacy, hasn't been revealed yet, but the teaser hinted at the Dillingers as the next villains. Well, Director Joseph Kosinski kind of confirmed:

"I think we will pick with where TRON: LEGACY left off with Quorra in the real world and what does that mean and the possibilities it opens up for the next chapter. It's that relationship between the two of them that's the next step. Dillinger was a really important part of the first film and felt like an easy way to continue that storyline and thread to have his son in the new movie. That way you have people ask those questions of what the Dillinger legacy is in the world of TRON. We didn’t want to ignore it completely and it leaves a really nice springboard for some intertwining development for the next film." - Director Joseph Kosinski

This is great news I know I may be in the minority but I really enjoyed Legacy and I hope Cillian Murphy reprises his role as Dillinger's son he was such a great villian in Batman Begins as Scarecrow.

I loved Legacy as much as I loved the original, I love the concept of Tron. Loved the fact that Flynn was in there as young as he looked as CLU really got major continuity.

Looking forward big time. The Matrix before The Matrix.

Really think Randy Orton sounds like Kevin Flynn btw. Each time I hear Orton talk in the ring, I think of Flynn. lol. Seriously, listen out.

Ditto I really hope Daft Punk returns for the sequel to me it was one of the best aspects of the movie and Olivia Wilde's character is a must.
