Cena vs Rock ?
Throw the Cena VS Taker rumor out the window Folks.
The next issue of Inside Wrestling features The Rock and John Cena on the cover of the magazine with a headline reading: “Hot WrestleMania Rumor – John Cena vs. The Rock.” The sister publication of Pro Wrestling Illustrated claims that the “mega-bout is closed to being signed.” The article’s synopsis reads: “The relationship between The Rock and John Cena is strange. Cena respects all The Rock has accomplished yet seems to resent it at the same time. That is why “The Champ” is pining for a match with The Rock at WWE’s showcase event. Word is, this mega-bout is close to being signed |
Except this is also just a rumor
|
never said it wasn't
|
Yeah, but it's hardly any reason to throw cena/taker "out the window"
|
Not sure that I like the sound of this i'd hate to see Cena go over but it would be an opportune time to start turning him heel I guess otherwise thumbs down.

So there gonna go with Cena resents The Rock as the story? why would they turn Cena heel to accomodate a 2month long fued, unless Rock wanted back for a year or two.
Throwing Cena vs Taker out the window is crazy cos if Rock does return i think he'l work with Triple H since that fued is one of the greatest ever. |
Since Cena reportedly "resents" Rock, I'd love to see the match booked for Mania 26 if (and ONLY if) it means we'd get heel Cena back. And not just for 2 or 3 months, either.
|
Heel Cena could work...but would he still no-sell everything?

There is no doubt in my mind that Cena can sell. I think it's Vince McMahon who decided that Cena should no-sell after every match.
|
how many people are you?
|
I don't think it matters if The Rock stays at all or not. If Cena was to resent The Rock and also go over him in a match I think this would make him the biggest heel in the company. It's kinda sad but The Rock is probably the most over man in the WWE right now and he doesn't even do anything. Cena beating him and them not having a friendly relationship would make super Cena super heel.

Anyone remember Fred Flump in 3ipw? He was also Reeves Lacey? Id love him to come in and fued with The Rock. That would be epic
|
If they were to make Cena heel, it probably would be more similar to HBK being the heel against Hogan and then the next month went back to normal. Wouldn't be surprised if the crowd ended up booing Cena like how The Rock got booed against Hogan in their Wrestlemania match.

“mega-bout is closed to being signed.”
I'm not going to believe a "rumor" whose grammar is atrocious. |

There is no way the fans would cheer Cena against The Rock. If they did do this program, then I would hope that they let the fans turn heel Cena, and have Johnny Boy point out that The Rock quit this business, and he "NEVER GIVES UP!"
|
I don't care what none of you fags say, i would pay the $60 or whatever to see that match. That match = $$$$
|
Great idea.
In fact, like others have stated, it would be an excellent springboard to launch Cena into being a heel. |
This would be a BADASS main event... WAYYYYY Better than Cena Vs. Taker... I would love to see Taker go out with Taker Vs. HBK part 2...
|
CENA + Heel Turn = NEEDED SINCE 2007...
|
Saying nothing junior about this member is as lame as it gets

A Cena/Rock program would not only be entertaining but would make for ONE HELL of a Cena turn. I'm all for this. |

remember... NEVER GIVE UP (on trying to push cena to be a charismatic top face) |
I'm sure people will be beating their children while watching the match together with them.

SammyG doesn't watch wrestling.

This would probably be the biggest match after Hogan vs Rock I. Just saying I am not a Cena supporter but I really enjoyed his match against Batista at Summerslam last year.

I mean, the fans started to turn on Cena against Chris Jericho that year. They should have gone with the double-turn there. Christian was also getting so much fan support, and Matt Hardy returned to the company as the hottest act going around. If they had put Matt Hardy a little more strongly over Edge, Hardy could have very easily done some good for the company. |
reeves lacey or doffstun dibbles anyone?? they need to appear in WWE soon
|
If this match happens, I'm busting out my old Rock shirt, and going to Buffalo Wild Wings at like 1pm to watch it that day
|
I go to BWW for all the pay-per-views, and one of the guys I always hang with, is a huge Rock fan (like myself, naturally...), and goes to all the huge pay-per-views, such as WrestleMania. Well, for WM 23, he not only went there but actually got on camera, not once but TWICE while they were panning to the crowd in between the announcements of the names of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2007.
http://i45.tinypic.com/6fqkir.jpg He's the guy in the "JUST BRING IT" shirt. |
The Rock is working on a film that begins filming in January 2010. Now, it's entirely possible, though unlikely, that they'll shoot the film in one month and he'll be free for the build-up and training required for a WrestleMania match with John Cena in March. But the fact that he's doing that suggests that he isn't going to be at WrestleMania 26.
|
No matter how bad all of us want it, unless something happens to his acting career I don't think we'll ever see The Rock wrestle again. He really has gone out of his way to separate himself from the WWE up until his agreement to host Raw recently. I mean when was the last time he has appeared on WWE television? It's been a bit.
I won't lie I have secretly wished him ruin in his acting career ever since he left the WWE, just so I can see him back in the ring for my own personal enjoyment. I know it will most likely never happen though. |
The Rock was on SmackDown! a few weeks ago. Granted, it's not likely this match will happen. But does it even need to be at a WrestleMania? It's a long-shot even for this, minus The Rock's involvement, but if they run with this "conspiracy" angle (which I really, really doubt they will), John Cena would be made into Vince McMahon's "Corporate Champion" (for lack of a better term). Cena could then start ripping into The Rock in promos, talking about how he turned his back on the WWE and such. Cena does movies AND keeps the WWE audience happy.
You could run an angle on The Tonight Show or something, where Dwayne Johnson promotes his movie at the same time John Cena promotes a WWE Film or other WWE-related project in the second act. Cena could then rip into The Rock there, saying that he had to leave because he has to film for Daycare Guard 2, and he's afraid of being in the same place as Cena. Run the match at fucking The Bash and I think it would get people in the mood. |
Damn must've missed that. Been having a hell of a time keeping up with Smackdown lately. Still see it as a long shot for it to ever happen though.

Rock will not be fighting Cena at mania, there is no evidence for it!!!

Here's how I would do it:
-Have The Rock host the January 4th edition of RAW. Have Rock/Cena be 'cool' with one another but at the same time, "tease" the idea that there's friction with one another. -Have The Rock be a surprise entrant at the Royale Rumble (imagine the face pop and electricity in the crowd!!!). Have The Rock be one of the final 4 contestants (Cena being another). Have Cena eliminate The Rock (which will get huge boo's). However, let The Rock get back into the ring (behind ref's back) and hit the People's Elbow on Cena. Cena then gets eliminated by someone. -The next night on RAW, that's when we see Cena cut a negative promo on The Rock. The Rock comes out, and it is agreed that they will have a match at WRESTLEMANIA. -At Wrestlemania, The Rock gets a fluke victory over Cena. This, combined with the fact that Cena is getting boo'd out of the building, finally makes Cena snap. Cena flips off the fans and assaults The Rock after the match. Cena has officially turned heel. -At Backlash, Cena and The Rock have another match.....with Cena, as a heel, winning in convincing fashion this time. |
I find it ridiculous that Cena resents the Rock.

Am I the only one not clamoring for a Cena heel turn? I see the upside of it all, but I think it can be done farther down the road with the same impact that Hogan going heel in '96 did.
|
If it happened, John Cena would win. Maybe he gets booed to death during the match and uses the reaction as fuel for a heel turn. Cena cheating to beat The Rock would be the way to turn him heel.
Also, Cena/Rock is the biggest match they could possibly put on. It’s not close. |

Use that as Cena finally starts to believe the crowd doesn't like him and pulls off something like Jericho where he trashes the crowd and he'll never wrestle to entertain the crowd again but only for himself and gold/glory. It might not be of a Hogan to NwO in shock but since his fans are mostly kids and women, they would be affected the most in the "shock" of the turn. |

WWE Championship Match
John Cena © vs. The Rock As you all know, rumors are creeping up about Rock doing a thing with WWE. Rock shocks everyone by returning and winning the 30 Man Royal Rumble in January. He immediately shows up on RAW and challenges the winner of the RAW Elimination Chamber Match, be it Cena, Shawn Michaels, Triple-H, or whoever. Cena retains in the chamber. With the match official, build this up as the encounter that WrestleMania was made for. In the end, Cena locks in the STFU, but Rock refuses to tap and fades out, and the referee checks his arm. It drops twice, but Rock is still alive on the third, unable to get to the ropes, when he powers out of the STFU. Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross sell their shock over this. Rock nails a spinebuster and goes for a People’s Elbow, but Cena moves out of the way and locks in the STFU again. Rock squirms like crazy to get to the ropes, but Cena pulls him back to the center of the ring. Rock struggles to try and escape, sliding toward the ropes. The referee keeps asking if Rock gives up. Rock fades out again, and the referee checks his arm again, but it only drops twice. Rock struggles like crazy to get free and manages to push forward, grabbing the bottom rope. Cena releases the hold and gives Rock the FU, and Rock kicks out. Cena looks confused, goes to the top rope, and tries to do a leg drop, only to miss. Rock gives Cena a Rock Bottom, and Cena kicks out. Rock is shocked and goes for another Rock Bottom as Cena stumbles to his feet, but Cena blocks it and gives Rock another FU, and Rock kicks out again. Cena absolutely loses it by shoving the referee to the ground and nails Rock from behind with a chair. Cena watches as Rock struggles to stand up until Cena lands the third FU of the match for the pin. |

After Rock surviving being in the STFU twice and kicking out of two FUs, Cena finally goes crazy and resorts to cheating in order to finally put Rock down. It makes for a great story, as we see the beginning of Cena's heel turn on RAW the following night. He beats Rock, but at the cost of the opinions of his fans, which he no longer cares for. They've been booing him since he beat Chris Jericho at SummerSlam 2005, now they actually have a reason to be mad and boo him: he beat one of their all time favorites by cheating, thus becoming a heel in the process and making the fans bitter. |
