DAMN iNATOR 12-02-2009 01:29 AM

I know I'll probably take a bunch of shit for voting how I did, but I went with "The Whole F'N Show", Rob...Van...Dam!

Nark Order 12-02-2009 01:30 AM

But Owen Hart won 2 slammy awards!

Tazz Dan 12-02-2009 01:32 AM

True, but RVD held two world titles.

Lock Jaw 12-02-2009 01:35 AM

Owen Hart with ease. Really just outclassed RVD in every way.

Juan 12-02-2009 01:38 AM

Anyone who votes in Better Wrestler and not in Better Tag Team from now on, will be banned for a week.

Juan 12-02-2009 01:42 AM

Gotta respect Owen Hart and his skills, but he was never able to connect with a crowd like RVD did.

RVD.

RVD over the Nugget

I 100% agree

Ermaximus 12-02-2009 09:28 AM

I don't know. Had Owen not passed away the way he did, I think he could have done a lot more in his career. I always enjoyed watching him wrestle especially against Bret. I gotta give this one to Owen.

4 knuckles up 12-02-2009 11:17 AM

Oh come the fuck on, RVD by a mile.

IRodC 12-02-2009 11:23 AM

HE IS NOT A NUGGET!

Nicky Fives 12-02-2009 11:49 AM

I can't vote against Owen.... RVD is great, but Owen is the best

Ermaximus 12-02-2009 11:56 AM

I wonder who OwenBrown will vote for. :shifty:

Yeah, gotta go with Owen. Outstanding wrestler.

Rammsteinmad 12-02-2009 12:22 PM

Rob Van Dam. I expect this to be a tough match that could easily go either way.

Joesgonnakillyou 12-02-2009 12:37 PM

I love RVD but I've never seen a Owen Hart match I didn't like. RVD could be a selfish performer and just reel off a lot of his spots, Pin someone and leave. He shouldn't have beaten Foley really.

Once again: I love RVD but Owen all the way

XCaliber 12-02-2009 03:43 PM

Owen was a better all around talent so that's why he gets my vote.

Juan 12-02-2009 04:05 PM

I get the feeling that Owen wouldn't have so many votes if he weren't dead.

You might be right but i'd been a huge mark of his since the early 90s.

jskinnyg 12-02-2009 04:17 PM

Owen had some pretty badass matches... And his "Nugget" shit went WAY over with the crowd... I would say that is connecting with a crowd.... This is a tough choice...

He would've gotten even more, given that he was younger and a lot more talented than RVD was.

thedamndest 12-02-2009 05:43 PM

Both are great talents. Owen was better on the mic and had a better ground game. RVD is the better flyer (though Owen was great at that as well). I'm not a big vote for the dead guy person, but in this instance I do think Owen Hart is overall the Better Wrestler.

pretty much summed up my thoughts on Owen

Meh, it's not hard for a pothead to connect with other potheads.

Testicle 12-02-2009 10:23 PM

RVD did so much more.

Testicle 12-02-2009 10:23 PM

Watch an old ECW tape and then tell me Owen is better. You can't.

Nark Order 12-02-2009 10:36 PM

I'm not a "Hart" guy but Owen really could've been the guy IMO.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-03-2009 12:47 AM

There's something to be said for the fact that outside of the obvious Hart connections, the WWF could never figure out what to do with Owen. All he did was bounce around from tag partner to tag partner with an occasional singles feud thrown in. Compare that to RVD who strictly through his in ring performance managed to steal the spotlight from Steve Austin.

But as for the claim that if I were to watch an ECW tape I couldn't say Owen was better, I'm not entirely sure that's true. I was a hardcore RVD mark during his ECW days but I don't think I could say anything he did was better than Owen's matches with Bret at WM 10 and SummerSlam 94.

Gotta think about this one.

Emperor Smeat 12-03-2009 02:01 AM

Tough choice since Owen Hart could have easily been a top star similar to Bret Hart or maybe similar to Triple H since he was meant to have "The Game" gimmick initially. The fact he was the only Hart to not leave WWF right after Montreal might have helped him in the long run with maybe a world title opportunity or a couple reigns. I did like him when he was The Black Hart after winning the King of the Ring since he pulled it off so well.

In the end, going with RVD mostly because RVD had those 10 years that Owen wasn't able to have to develop into a great wrestler in both athletic ability and crowd pleasing. RVD was the only initial Invasion guy to be cheered by the crowd and should have been pushed much better than he was initially.

CWK 12-03-2009 04:50 PM

Owen barely edges RVD here in my opinion, Owen's match with Bret at mania 10 was just too good to not vote Owen in this situation

Ermaximus 12-03-2009 05:01 PM

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Owen the guy who broke Austin's neck?

CWK 12-03-2009 05:04 PM

Owen broke Austin's neck unintentionally, pretty much all injuries are unintentional, nut in defense of that, RVD is the king of working stiff in the ring. An example of this would be Survivor Series 2002 when RVD jumped off of one of the pods in the elimination chamber and landed knee first on Triple H's throat botching his five star frog splash.

Don't worry, Owen is square with the house again after WWE got him back back showing total carelessness of him by putting him in a piece of shit harness an hanging him 70+ feet in the air and letting him fall. Not saying WWE intended to kill him, but if you saw photos of the harness he wore and the rigging he was hooked up to, you would gasp.

DarKCentaur 12-03-2009 06:18 PM

It's been said many times already, but...

Yeah I'm sure Owen got zero "dead guy" votes.

St. Jimmy 12-03-2009 06:43 PM

Actually, Owen was Mid Heavywieght World Champion in Stu Hart's Calgary Stampede Wrestling which produced Bret Hart, Pillman, Dynamite Kid, and even Chris Benoit among many others. He also was a World Champion in the USWA, and an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion in Japan. So both men have been World Champions in their day.

thedamndest 12-03-2009 08:12 PM

Also, Owen could be a face or a heel. RVD could never be a heel.

Triple Naitch 12-03-2009 08:19 PM

Yeah, but RVD reached such a height of popularity that even if he were to turn heel he would still get the loudest pop in the house.

LOL there is nothing insane about that statement about Owen's title victories. The USWA and Stampede Wrestling were huge back in their hey-days, and Owen's success there really helped him to get to WWE main events later on. Not that his brother working for WWE didn't help either, but Owen was mega talented before he ever stepped into WWE.

You bring up a valid point Triple Naitch. RVD was more over with the crowds than most people and when he made a special appearance in the RR this year, everyone in the restaurant I was watching at went ape shit. They were so loud that people were actually complaining from the OTHER SIDE of the restaurant. RVD will always be one of the most over guys in the business, and that's something not many can claim to do.

The Mackem 12-04-2009 10:01 AM

I just think Owen Hart had more strings to his bow and as such was more diverse.

Godfather4Life 12-04-2009 10:57 AM

Owen is not better IMO he may be gettin sympathy votes.

Lock Jaw 12-04-2009 02:26 PM

If RVD wins I riot.

Xero 12-05-2009 09:40 AM

lol holy shit a tie.

Jeritron 12-05-2009 11:17 AM

I had to go with RVD because he managed to "break the glass ceiling", and despite smark complaints he pretty much had his true potential realized. Some will complain about how he was used, but the guy was always one of the most featured and over guys on the roster, and won every belt in sight. He ended his career in the main event, and won the WWE title. Obviously some think he was held down and was going to be Hogan or something, but he had a damn good run.

Also, there are a handful of matches RVD's been a part of that I hold way over anything Owen Hart did, as great of a wrestler he was.
To me Owen Hart was a great wrestler, and might have had the ability to be huge, but he never was. He was also kind of inconsistent.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-05-2009 11:24 AM

I forgot to vote. :o

God dammit
