Low-Ki

Low Ki (a.k.a. "Kaval") is expected to debut soon on SmackDown and begin a feud with Rey Mysterio. He will debut under a mask and programmed as someone from Mysterio's past in Mexico. Officials first discussed the idea early last year, but plans were thwarted when the former TNA X Division champion suffered a serious leg injury. (source: PWInsider.com)

Here are some highlights from Ki's career for those not familiar with him...

Indifferent Clox 12-03-2009 06:44 PM

him against danielson reffed by ken shamrock was an amazing match

Heros Welcome 12-03-2009 06:45 PM

Though I'm not all that thrilled he'll be under a mask, the fact that I'll get to see Ki on WWE Programming mask or not and having a feud with Rey Mysterio is pretty damn sweet. Hopefully his moveset stays intact and we see plenty of GHETTO STOMPS!!

redoneja 12-03-2009 06:45 PM

Yea, I guess some people might be against it because it's not his normal gimmick but it gets him on TV with Mysterio, who has been red hot throughout the last 12+ months.

Be pretty cool if this feud got over big and led to a mask v mask match, maybe at Mania? Obviously Low Ki would probably lose but then he could go on without his mask and start to add in his usual schtick.

Xero 12-03-2009 06:46 PM

No way in hell he's going to last if he works as stiff as he usually does.

Blitz 12-03-2009 06:47 PM

Mask is a bad idea. Hope he loses is ASAP.

That it was! His matches against Aries at The Future is Now, and KENTA at Final Battle 05 are 2 of my favs. I could mention a lot more, but I'll keep it simple with the 2.

He probably wouldn't have lasted in FCW if he worked as stiff as he usually does.

St. Jimmy 12-03-2009 06:48 PM

As long as he kicks Rey's head off, I don't care if he's wearing a dress.

Yeah but if he gets in the ring with a veteran and they start to complain he could be fucked.

Johnny Vegas 12-03-2009 07:32 PM

Yea, no way HHH is going to take one of those stomps lol. I'd love to see a Low Ki v John Morrison match where the stipuation is "futbol rules"..no hand attacks. Irish whips fine, european uppercuts fine, anything having to do with the torso is fine..but no punches, no sleepers, etc. Something new.

Juan 12-03-2009 07:44 PM

Isn't the whole point of developmental to learn the "WWE style" ? He'll be fine.

Hate to tell you Jaun but whatever information you got saying that Kaval aka Low-Ki was going to debut on Smackdown was incorrect, I was just watching the Superstars stream on Justin.TV and he just debuted against the Hurricane, wasn't Burchill under the mask, the guy was too skinny and the mannerisms match Low Ki's in the ring. Look's like he's going to the C-Show instead of Friday Nights.

Triple Naitch 12-03-2009 09:39 PM

No, that was definitely Burchill.

Juan 12-03-2009 09:40 PM

The post clearly says "credit: PWInsider.com"

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-03-2009 09:41 PM

lol it would have sucked to work with Low Ki pre WWE, his moves look WAY too stiff. Wouldn't even want to deal with that even if I was trained to.

Phenomenal 1 12-03-2009 09:43 PM

K lets compare:

Burchill:

http://www.wwe.com/content/media/ima...rs/bio/6415920

and

Kaval

http://www25.brinkster.com/hbkid718/wcwf/LowKi.jpg

The dude that was just on Superstars, looked more like Kaval, he did not have a gut and was very defined narrow in the waist and abs...so sorry Naitch....it definately was NOT Burchill

Triple Naitch 12-03-2009 09:45 PM

1. The guy did have a gut and was tanner than Low-Ki
2. Low-Ki has a tattoo on his left shoulder. The "masked man" did not.

The video is already posted on WWE.com. Go check it out.

Juan 12-03-2009 09:46 PM

Clearly, GiimmickInfringed is smarter than everyone on the internet.

Phenomenal 1 12-03-2009 09:47 PM

you're free to feel that its Burchill, but I disagree and say that its not....Tatoo's can be removed and covered up with makeup my friend....but i'm not gonna feed my own ego or your's for that matter.....we'll see who it is...you say its Burchill, I say its Kaval....the other reason that leads me to believe its not Burchill, that is NOT the mask that he has used in his incarnation of his Ripper Gimmick.

Juan 12-03-2009 09:48 PM

Why on earth would they cover up Kaval's tattoo???

there is a difference between having an opinion and "internet trolling". Its a known and obvious fact that Juan has a history of editing my posts. If I was trolling I would be provoking everyone and inciting attention by simple and idiotic catch phrases, insults, obsenities, and other immature one liners...you sir obviously have NO idea truly what is considered a Troll.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-03-2009 09:51 PM

i'm the lunatic...you are the one who sits around with nothing better to do but look for what i'm posting on each and ever single thread it seems....I am nowhere near the level as Dale says as a troll or a lunatic as you called me.

You really need to find a hobby and go police real idiots like CWK and HBPunk who are the real trolls. It would seem you're the fucking lunatic...but i'm sure i'll get the hammer dropped on me for calling you the same thing you did to me...cause you're probably good at pulling the double standard.

Do they have wrestling like that on smackdown?

Juan 12-03-2009 11:25 PM

yes, they have actual wrestling matches on ECW and Smackdown.

Indifferent Clox 12-03-2009 11:27 PM

i watch ecw, i just can't really watch smackdown all that much.

i wish you still did that match of the week thing.

I still think this match is better than a lot of ecw or smackdown matches.

why do they keep saying "Kawal?"

Juan 12-04-2009 12:28 AM

it's Kaval, his new name in FCW/WWE.

Juan 12-04-2009 12:54 AM

ok I just watched the Superstars match. The guy in the mask is clearly about 230+ pounds. Nowhere near the same build as Low-Ki.

Team Canada 12-04-2009 12:55 AM

Senshi, Low-Ki, Kaval, hell why not just call him Lui Kang Jr.???

parkmania 12-04-2009 12:56 AM

And get the guy who voiced the video game to do ring announcing for him... "Lui Kang wins".

Team Canada 12-04-2009 12:58 AM

I have to admit though, that "Warrior's Way" finisher, the double stomp to the chest he did in TNA was freaking awesome, made me believe it hurt.

Mr. C 12-09-2009 03:06 AM

As much as I was hoping for Low Ki to debut on RAW, I’d be down with that and love to see him kicking the crap out of Rey Mysterio.

The Mackem 12-09-2009 05:31 AM

Low Ki with a mask wouldn't have been the end of the world.

XL 12-09-2009 10:40 AM

I think the mask could work in his favor. If they drop the ball with him in this gimmick, he at least can be repackaged without the mask easily.

Triple Naitch 12-09-2009 12:56 PM

Jordan 12-09-2009 01:54 PM

Bringing in Kaval to feud with Rey is a great idea. I couldn't really think of a better match he could have in WWE right now. It is so rare to see Rey go against a guy his size, not have to play David. So it should be really cool.

Jordan 12-09-2009 02:16 PM

That match was fucking awesome. If Kaval uses that style of standing submissions and stiff kicks I could see him doing well against the big guys in WWE. It's the perfect offence and defence for a guy so small. That would be awesome to see him choke out Cena and then stomp him from the top, that would be awesome.

Mr. C 02-16-2010 04:30 AM

I got an idea for bringing in Low Ki. Something I’d love to see is to pull a Goldberg of sorts. Let Ki go all of 2010 with getting counted out, disqualified, or pinned or tapping out once. Let him tear through people and earn some wins.

Rammsteinmad 02-16-2010 09:47 AM

As much as I can't stand Low Ki, I hate Triple H more, and would love to see Ki stiff the fuck outta him.

How about Rey Mysterio wins at WrestleMania and shaves CM Punk’s head? Next SmackDown, Low Ki beats down Mysterio and joins the Straight Edge Society.

redoneja 03-03-2010 01:02 AM

I expected Low Ki/Kaval to be on NXT. Guess you can't have all your best guys on at once though. Still might be called up to the main roster I suppose.

Not a bad idea, having Ki join up with the SES. I think he'd fit as a really 'militant' straight edge type as opposed to the charismatic cult leader personality of Punk.

Jeritron 03-03-2010 01:20 AM

The whole mask thing and "mysterio's past" angle is a good idea I think. It starts him off in a meaningful program and hopefully gets him over.

Not to mention that it's a no brainer to have the angle end with Mysterio unmasking him, and then they can push him from there on out without the mask.

Fignuts 03-03-2010 03:12 AM

I've given up on seeing him on tv. Like, what are they waiting for?

Mr. Nerfect 03-03-2010 10:40 AM

I don't think they want to blow their entire wad with WWE NXT now. Kaval is likely to be on the "next season," in my opinion. They could even put him under a mask and have Rey Mysterio be his WWE Pro.

Instead of doing this "season" thing, maybe the WWE could have guys graduate at different rates (for example, Darren Young does not seem credible enough yet for RAW or SmackDown!), and when one guy graduates, another enters the fray. So as soon as Daniel Bryan is moved up, Kaval can take his place.

That would actually be a very very nice idea there.
