Over the last few weeks I’ve been hearing about a major overhaul of the TNA ‘iMPACT! Zone’ in Orlando, FL. I have been holding off on reporting anything until I could get further confirmation.

I’ve been told that Eric Bischoff’s production company is the contractor logged in to oversee the overhaul. TNA has to notify lease agents, insurers and park officials of any construction activities because they can interrupt the filming of other productions on the lot.

I would expect a brand new set to debut on the January 4th TNA iMPACT!. There are also rumors about the six-sided ring being replaced by a 20 x 20 ring although I can’t confirm that. I’ve sent off several emails and have not heard back just yet. Hulk Hogan has also said numerous times that he’s not a fan of the six-sided ring

I'm indifferent about the possible ring change. I don't really care either way, I'd rather just see good matches and angles.

Well TNA getting rid of that ring would be a step in the right direction. I'd be more inclined to watch.

UFC doesn't count. Wrestling rings should be 4 sides. That 6 sided ring is one of the main reasons I could never get into TNA.

meh seems like a ridiculous thing to concern yourself with. if the product in the ring is good, who gives a shit how many sides there are? not commenting on the quality of their product, just a general statement.

Agreed... But If I had to choose, I'd stick with 4 sides...Irish whip moves will had a lot more whip to them...

I mean, the 6 sided ring isn't the ONLY reason I don't watch TNA, but it's a contributing factor.

Yes, the wrestling ring should be four sides. It's one of those things where they have always been four sides and there was no need to fix what wasn't broken. I think now they will have a much easier time aesthetically getting people to watch the show.

The only reason they had six sides was because of the x division which they rarely use now, so why not make it a what Kevin Nash would say a " 2 sided ring"

If anything, they can use the six sided ring for gimmick PPVs. I'd say, IF they're doing it, make Lockdown the only PPV with six sides of steel.

I like the idea of a set change. Changing the ring might make it better for me personally, as I am a fan of tradition. I worry about some of the guys who got use to the six sides having to make the switch, but I'm sure they can do it. I recall that TNA did not have the six sides until they made the move to Orlando.

I don't like the six sided ring because of changes it makes to the ring dimensions and some of the action.

For instance, irish whips. Jumps from the top rope, and just the overall distance from rope to rope.

I would hope they implement it into a storyline rather than just having the audience show up and think they're at ROH.

I'm waiting for further confirmation....waiting for the Torch, Observer, or PWInsider to report it first

I like it, it is different but not too different. I have watched lucha libre for a while so I am pretty used to it.

I watch TNA more than WWE and I think going to 4 sides is a good idea. You can tell when a wrestler first debuts in TNA they're not as good in the ring right away it takes most of them like 2 or 3 moths to get used to the ring, and by then they've a;ready established themselves to the fans as not as good as they could be.

The only people I saw uneffected by the 6 sides of that bat are Kurt Angle and Desmond Wolfe.

20 X 20 is that bigger smaller or the same as WWE?

They should wrestle in a circle squared (two round rings).

Unless the WWE recently changed their ring since, the new TNA ring should be the same size as WWE's rings.

Ive done the math and read a few opinions now I see the complaint and the awkwardness it can create for guys used to four sided rings that being said I think the only reason hogan hates it is because if he steps in that ring he will look TERRIBLE.

I love how Hogan can just come in and get these things changed.

yep he goes in changes tna while lighting a fire under wwe's ass so they get bret back. i never was a hogan fan being a piper mark, but hogan gets shit done.

I've always said to change the Impact Zone to have one entrance ramp. May not seem like a huge change, but for every show with one less ramp, that's another good hundred seats or so to be filled with paying customers.

As for the ring. :y:

They haven't had two ramps in over a year.

They have two enterances on the stage at the top of the ramp, but just one ramp.

They've had one entrance ramp for a while now.

i like the idea of heels using one tunnel and the faces using the other tunnel, it gives the impression of segregation between the bad guys and good guys, i remember when the tunnels used to be at the opposite end of the arena, and entrance ramp change is great for tna, i have always wanted the ramp to change and as it has been said before its a small change but it makes a big difference, now all we need is a different entrance stage for the ppv's

I don't think even "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" could help the Impact Zone short of blowing it up with TNARICK in it

they might be able to get away with airing old Nitro episodes starting on January 4th. The first show would be when Hall shows up. And they could just edit the footage to make it look like TNA's arena and everything

I actually had a dream a few weeks back that TNA beat raw and l the wcw alumnai showed up and the set the music and storylines all slowly morphed into Monday nitro

THe in ring product would be so much better without the 6 sides of crap. Every match is so sloppy because of the ring, that includes the guys who actually know what they're doing in there.

The one downside with the six sided ring is that it takes adjustment. I remember when a few guys came in they were clearly having trouble running/hitting the ropes because the extra sides throws off their ring-awareness.
