I never heard of these comics, the movie seems fine, I'd just rather see "hit-girl" get cut.

I'm surprised that there isn't an "outrage" or something by soccer moms about this 12 year old girl using all this kind of language and killing people.

Top fucking film. The first hour is fairly slow and relied on the odd laugh or cultural reference to keep me interested, but the last hour taking off the torture scene is a treat to watch.

Best film I've seen this year

I fucking LOVED this movie. I didn't really think the first hour was that slow tbh, they did a great job at building the story and characters. All the actors nailed their parts, and the girl who played Hit Girl was just unreal.

Definitely the best film out this year so far, and by the looks of things it could easily remain that way. Saw this last week and couldn't believe how much like the comics it is. Reallu funny and some great action. It's awesome at showing how ridiculous real-life superheroes are, especially because there is a community of people that actually do shit like this.

amazing film. katy was a completely different character to the comics but i think she needed to be for the film since she was a stone cold bitch in the comics. loved it though. film of the year so far.

So I've just watched it again, and OMFG, it was better the second time!!!!

i really don't get why everyone finds this whole hit-girl saying 'cunt' thing so amazing/shocking/hilarious/whatever you find it. seen 328973941 movies with people saying 'cunt' in it. oh no, it was an 11-year old girl. because children never swear. whatever. i didn't 'lol' or anything when she said it. if anything, i thought 'fucking badass' and went about my business silently, gasp/cringe/tut/giggle-free.

huge soccer mum uproar about it here. was a ridiculous segment on mornings with kerri-anne a while ago that had my blood steaming out of my ears because all these nattering women with nothing better to do were complaining about the language and whether this film is okay for children. i mean obviously, it's not.

Yeah, I was on the same lines as you mitch. I think I lol'd the second time because I was expecting it at some of the other people in the cinemas reaction was just priceless.

what, no. that is not what i am trying to say here. not trying to be all 'too cool for school' about social taboos or whatever but really, the entire segment was dedicated to vilifying the film because it "looks like" a kids' film because there are are bright colours and superheroes - and let's completely gloss over the word "ass" in the title, the gratuitous violence and rating classification the film was awarded to prevent children easily being able to see it - and debating its appropriateness for those under the age of fifteen. ugh.

as for not giggling in the cinema at a curse word, that is because i am an adult, not too cool for it.

I think you'll find most people will laugh because it's so unexpected. It's a bit WTF? Also keep in mind 98% of the audience wouldn't know this is a comic book adaptation and would have no idea how this little girl will be portrayed in the film.

Unfortunately, I have to agree here. So many good books out there, but when one of the non Marvel/DC books becomes a film, no one knows it's not a comic. Just keep your nerdcool and enjoy it for what it is, like me. Then again, I'm not seeing this for another week. Weak.

I have only been to the movies 9 times in the last 12 months. And 4 of those times were for this movie. I fucking hate the cinema.

It's a great movie. It's one of the more entertaining movies that I've seen recently.

Saw it today. Good shit, but wow there are some changes.

I mean not quite Wanted level of change, but damn.

I just watched a crappy handi-cam version of this movie and I'll probably go see it in the theatre. Pretty awesome.

Scene where Big Daddy lays waste to the lumber store was about the most badass thing I've seen in a while.

Went with the wife and a few people to see it. I really didnt care to see it and had no hopes for it. Turned out better than expected. The action scenes as already mentioned reminded me of Wanted.

I loved the super violence of the film and my wife and I had to seperate views cause she hated the little girl was cussing and killing people and I was laughing my ass off.

Funny, but I would have waited for a DVD release.

R5 copy is out there. Just saw it. Audio is pretty good but gets low after loud noises. Video quality is good as well. As for the movie itself I had no expectations except I thought it would be a comedy and it wasn't so much. I don't know how that kid stayed alive but Big Daddy in the lumber place was great and Hit girl was amazing.

Saw it in theaters last night. Heard good reviews going into it, trailer didn't impress me at all though. But from what I read about it online I was interested in it. Really enjoyed the movie, was a lot of fun. Some parts were a little slow at times, but the other parts were high energy fun. Def recommend it to folks.

Fucking glad I waited for the R5.

Did you read the comic? Pretty different in a lot of parts, but I get the feeling you may not like it if you didn't like the movie.

Just seen this. So fucking bad ass. Best movie I've seen so far this year by far. Can't wait for the 2nd one. I feel like the pedo friend of kick ass towards Hit Girl.

But the whole comic fan becomes a super hero is dumb. I guess it's a comic readers wet dream, but it's just a dumb idea and the movie was completely predictable.


There are some great comic adaptations out there (X-Men, Hulk, Iron Man) and some really shit ones (Judge Dredd, The Phantom, Kick-Ass).

Not my wet dream. If I had any sort of powers, I'd use them to enhance my otherwise normal life without any plans for saving/destroying/taking over the world.

if I had super powers, I'd be using them to get laid.
