WWE SmackDown Taping Results (01/08) *Spoilers*
Dark Match
1. Tyler Reks beat The Hurricane. Reks won with what I assume was his finisher. Reks had a prematch promo to ensure he got over as a heel. It seems to have worked. WWE SmackDown * A Beat the Clock Challenge recap was shown. * Batista comes out and says that while Vickie Guerrero tried to make things right last week, she isn't the General Manager, so his match with Rey Mysterio won't happen. He calls out Teddy Long for an explanation. * Rey Mysterio came out instead. Rey called Batista a crybaby and showed why he is. He made a good point. Rey said he is ready to go tonight. He called Dave "skerred." Dave says he is not "skerred." He said he will simply injure Rey, who disagreed. * Dolph Ziggler defeated Kane by countout. * They announce that later tonight, CM Punk will save a member of the WWE Universe. * In a backstage segment, Michelle McCool, Layla El and Beth Phoenix all make fun of "Piggy James." Layla and Michelle apologize to Beth for last week. Phoenix tells Layla they have a match tonight and she better get serious. * Backstage, Chris Jericho asks the Hart Dynasty if they are ready to make an impact. They tell him they've been ready and what happened to Bret Hart on Raw was an embarrassment. * Chris Jericho and The Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Tyme and R-Truth. Jericho got the win for his team over JTG. R-Truth came out before the break. Jericho had massive heat. Massive. There was a you suck chant drowned out by a what's up chant. Cryme Tyme was over big too. * Mike Tyson promo video aired. * CM Punk comes out to the ring with Luke Gallows to "save" a member of the WWE Universe. They pick someone out of the crowd who appear to be a developmental worker (I believe Manbeast from OVW). They ask him if he's ready to be safe. The "fan" responds "he thinks so". Punk says that he needs to cut his hair to become part of the "straightedge lifestyle". The "fan" is at first hesitant but finally agrees. Gallows pulls out an electronic razor and shaves his head. * A promo aired for Maria appearing on Celebrity Apprentice. * Luke Gallows defeated Matt Hardy. A "Let's go Hardy" chant was heard in the arena. * Backstage, Teddy Long and Maria are discussing her being part of the upcoming Celebrity Apprentice cast. Vickie Guerrero arrives and says she would have been part of the cast as well, but she's been too busy. She shows Maria the new WWE action figure roles and asks her to do a sales pitch for them. The Great Khali and Runjin Singh arrive and Khali says that Guerrero's figure reminds him of a cow. * Beth Phoenix defeated Layla El. Michelle McCool attacked Beth after the match but Mickie James made the save, then kicked Phoenix as well. * Drew McIntyre was interviewed by Josh Matthews. He said he will be the first IC champion to win the Royal Rumble. Enter John Morrison, who disagreed and did a hilarious imitation of Drew. Morrison smacked the piss out of McIntyre like he stole money. * Rey Mysterio defeated Batista to earn a World Hvt. Championship match at the Royal Rumble. After Rey won the match, the bell tolled for interference twice. One, it knocked out Batista and ref, and once to knock out Rey. The pyro is hot as hell. There was a fake Taker full entrance(as in no one showed up). Well it was Chris Jericho. Then Matt Hardy took him out. Punk and Gallows took out Jericho and Batista. Then Kane came down. He took out Punk then Mysterio took out nayists. Everyone the left the ring. But no one left their seats. After the show went off the air, Rey came back to whip some Batista ass. Then Kane came back and chokeslammed Batista. Kane and Rey double teamed Dave. Rey and Kane left. Dave cut a promo about how we suck. He blamed Louisville since he started here. |
Is there a reason why you conviently deleted the perfectly good spoilers I had up? Or you just gonna claim that these are "superior" because they're "more detailed" than the ones I found, as usual?
Just, FTR, going briefly OT (off-topic): This is just a small sampling of what makes you such a horrible wrestling forum mod, Juan. A VERY small sampling. |
Shut up
|
No. I'm sick of your fucking bullying tactics. I shouldn't have to take your crap, and I'm not going to take it any longer. It's time someone in the wrestling forum actually grew a spine and stood up to your punk ass.
|
Okay
|
Fight fight fight fight!
|
Yeah I dunno, seems like damninator posted the spoilers before? Unless there was a reason they were deleted and this was posted instead.
|
Didn't check the time stamp

Yeah Juan is like the worst mod in TPWW (deletes threads for no reason, edits posts) beyond his modship I think he is an alright guy but I dont think he should have power.
Daminator posted the time stamp in this thread |
|
Rey vs Taker at RR? Yea, so who will Taker be defending against at NWO??? Also, wtf at that ending? Could there possibly be any more of a more clusterfucked finale?

More proof that Juan would rather insult everyone he hates than be the bigger man and admit that he was late with the results, and delete his own thread rather than take down the one I put up 3 minutes earlier than him.:nono: Real creative, there Juan...who would ever know the type of message you're trying to send with a large picture of a baby bawling it's eyes out? |
Lol calm down DAMN iNATOR

Don't ask me a question you know the answer too then bitch about it when you hear the answer.

I'm not getting as heated as Daminator but it is frustrating when you make a thread then you see its gone 2 minutes later for no apparent reason.
|
Also, well played, Juan. How would I ever have noticed that for the second week in a row you also deleted the ECW Spoilers thread I made two weeks in a row, this week a full hour and a half before it even aired?

It just really pisses me off, especially when he also gets away with victimizing others just to get his jollies. |
Don't be too upset, DAMN. You'll always have the WWE Superstars *SPOILERS*.

We should make an official "DAMN iNATOR vs Juan" thread.
|
No. The boards are being tortured enough with the Zeeboe vs. Kane86 one.
|
I feel sick to my stomach about what these issues must be doing to each of your lives.
|
Me and Joey Radd had the same beef in 2004 over who got to do the Raw thread but we realized it doesn't really matter who starts the thread.
|
Besides, some jackass observer, if myself and Juan ever faced off, would probably make some lame joke that one of us is "spoiling for a fight" (See? Didn't go over too well, did it. I rest my case.)
|
lol come on
|
Hey if we made the thread in here Juan could edit all your arguments
|
I like all three of you guys, for the record. I haven't noticed Juan really doing anything inappropriate. I know he has his feud with DAMN iNATOR, but that sort of shit happens.
Let's talk about the spoilers. Sounds like a great show to me. Michael Hayes is consistently the most logical booker in professional wrestling. After their draw last week, Dolph Ziggler and Kane fight again this week. Ziggler defeats a former WWE Champion, albeit via countout, and that should keep this mini-feud going into the Rumble. Also, it feels like Ziggler is no longer completely forgotten about. Here's hoping 2010 can be a great year for him. I'm exciting about the prospect of Chris Jericho no longer being tied to Big Show. Jericho is a great character, but I just didn't enjoy his work with Show as much as others did. They felt mismatched to me, and like a team that won't last in people's memories. Because of Show's size, Jericho was also relegated to playing the little dude with a big mouth. He almost became a comedy character at times. It's great to see Jericho back on his own (although this relationship with The Hart Dynasty could be interesting), and back to winning. Matt Hardy is a guy I like, but I'm glad Luke Gallows went over him. The dude is 25 years old, and is actually a pretty good talent for his size. Wins like this will make him seem like something more than a lackey. Part of me is feeling that Hardy is being wasted on SmackDown!, though. I'm still of the opinion he would make a good choice to win the ECW Homecoming, and then go to ECW to feud with Christian, or something. The stuff with the ladies is being perfectly booked, in my opinion. You've got tension between all three ladies. We're barreling towards a Triple Threat for the Women's Title, and I actually want to see it. Plus, Natalya has also been kept out of the title scene, which means that the division is not entirely being used up in this feud, either. They will need a slight refresh after the draft, however. Perhaps they could call up Mia Mancini (Sareena Deeb), or something? Drew McIntyre and John Morrison's program continues to sound interesting on paper. It's not a classic rivalry yet, or anything, but it seems we can expect both men to be in the Royal Rumble Match. I sort of wish Morrison would move up from the IC Title to the World Heavyweight Title scene, though. I applaud Michael Hayes for giving us The Undertaker vs. Rey Mysterio at the Royal Rumble. This is a fresh program that is bound to have people interested. The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio are both immensely popular, and the dynamic that exists just between their images creates a story. One thing people complain about on RAW is that the same guys main event. Hayes is always trying to present us with some fresh main event developments, though -- whether it's CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio vs. Batista or Taker vs. Mysterio. The stuff that happens after the main event sounds like it might have been post-show stuff, because it sounds like a mess. The idea of Chris Jericho coming out to Taker's theme music is weird...I wonder if they plan to do The Undertaker vs. Jericho at Mania? We all sort of lost sight of it when they tested the program last year, and with HBK calling out Taker; but it seems like Triple H and Shawn Michaels are definitely getting notable tension developed between them. Triple H vs. HBK; Jericho vs. Taker; Bret vs. Vince? |
But sadly, that leaves Batista and John Cena without anything for them to do at Mania...and you know what that means.
|
They will be released?
--------------------------- It took Noid to let us know what the spirit of this thread is all about. |

*Winner takes all. Whoever wins gets the rights to the WWE Konami Code for infinite rematches forever. No draws permitted. The other man never recieves another title shot again, no loopholes or workarounds allowed to this stipulation. |
It'll be that, minus the loser's stipulation. Loser just has to wait a month.
|
or get released from WWE only to be subsequently picked up and pushed to the moon by TNA. :shifty:
|
All wrestling form mods should really strive to be more like me.
WWKD? Ask before you act. |
I'm just a little bemused by the fact that someone can get so upset because their thread was deleted.
Yes you might be quietly 'miffed' by it but to openly display such anger and annoyance befuddles me. FTR, I don't think I've ever used the word 'befuddles' before. This is what DAMN iNATOR has reduced me to. |
Juan getting mad with power.
|
MAWWWWWD POOOOOWWWAAAHHH AAABBBBOOOOOOOOSSSSEEEE!
|
Xero's Canadian?
|
Eh?
|
Juan seems like a good kid but his feud with Damninator is a bit of a dog act. Definitely don't see why Juan's own threads take precedence over Damninator ever single time without thought.
|
Smackdown reads like it's a better show than Raw.

Anyone else watching tonight?
The Batista/Rey segment was solid, Ziggler/Kane was a decent enough match that made Ziggler look good without making Kane look foolish for getting counted out, and Truth is being given a lot of offense against Jericho in the 6-man tag. Pretty good first 40 minutes or so, really. Amazing how good a show can be when they bother to develop undercard feuds instead of filling time with DX skits and guest host shenanigans. Edit: Old school Walls/Liontamer! Hell yeah! |
I marked out when I saw Jericho pull the Liontamer!

It was awful, Morrison can't do a Scottish accent. Like most Americans, when they try to pull off a Scottish accent, it sounds more Irish than Scottish. Americans just can't do Scottish accents. Anyway, SmackDown was once again, enjoyable as always. There's alot of good stuff going on on SmackDown at the moment, especially with CM Punk saving people, his promos are great. Also, DAMN iNATOR, just chill, it's only spoilers, it's not as if you get a medal or something for posting them first. :-\ |
Relax, Cool King. You are taking the Morrison/McIntyre segment way too seriously. I'm loving their program.
SmackDown! was really great. Dolph Ziggler feels like he is about to get on a roll again. :y: |
Smackdown was downright watchable tonight. Dare I say, it was really good...
Every segment kept my interest, including the Divas. There is nothing I can say bad about the show I just watched. ECW was great as well. Raw is a fucking shit pool though. |

If I was taking it too seriously, I'd be pulling a DAMN iNATOR and adding exclamation marks to my post and angry faces. :p |
PEOPLE OF SCOTLAND SHALL GO BRAVEHEART ON MORRISON'S ARSE FOR THAT SHAMEFUL IMPRESSION!
|
Haha, touche. Just in good fun, DAMN iNATOR. To be honest, I've heard a lot crappier Scottish accents, CK -- but I am not Scottish, so I probably don't listen for the nuance of such things.
|
I have still not lost faith in Dolph Ziggler. I'm really interested to see where he ends up. The guy is just a good worker, and overall positive presence, in my opinion.

Aside from the shaky accent, I liked the McIntyre/Morrison segment. It was much more serious than any other Morrison segment in the feud...hopefully it sticks, like Kofi's mean streak after facing Orton, because it makes him that much more credible.
I liked the line at the end -- "All this talk is getting a little boring, and someone is bound to lose their temper...if it's not you, it's going to be me *BAM*" |
Loved the lion tamer.
|
Liontamer FTW! I'm really digging this Ziggler/Kane feud so far it kinda reminds me of what they did with Undertaker & Mr. Kennedy a couple of years ago. Hate to say it but the low point of the show had to be the CM Punk segment followed by the match with Gallows/Matt in it maybe it's cuz it was so obvious he was gonna get squashed perhaps
|
So he used the real oldschool Liontamer and not this Walls of Jericho/Boston Crap he's been using for years now?
|

Yeah Grisham or Striker even acknowledged that he added a little zing to the walls. They were like "DAMN".
BUt it's kind of ridiculous if you think about it... if he did it better there, and they acknowledge that it looked way sicker, why the fuck wouldn't he do it like that every time... at least kayfabe wise. I could understand him not doing it legit because it would hurt guys. |
Here's a bit of info on the guy that CM Punk saved last night
http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.co...-mcnailer.html |
Ha! He feuded with Bryan Alvarez!
Alvarez is a pretty sick worker actually. |
You can see the kind of faith Hayes has in Punk, as he's being used to not only get R-Truth over, but also to help give some unestablished newcomers some cred.
SmackDown has by and far been the best show running on WWE since the summer, if not earlier. Everyone has been booked well, and with the exception of the odd ending to last night's show, it was more of the same to continue the new year. I agree that it's great to see midcarders like Cryme Tyme and Truth actually hold their own with Jericho. Even though they lost, the fact that they hung in there toe-to-toe gets them enough of a rub. Also, I think Mysterio should be getting paid some sort of incentive bonus for carrying the new heel Batista to his most interesting feud in God knows how long. Seocnd time in as many one on one matches that he and Bats have had a solid, and surprisingly entertaining match to main event SmackDown. |
