Sounds awesome.
And for some reason that guy complaining that the fence doesn't bend when the fighter is against it really shits me... |
Probably a 'loaded comment' or something because he heard them say they would address it. IGN does that. They had an article about which fighters they wanted to see in SSF4 and they listed the leaked 3rd Strike characters. Now they get to say, "Hey the characters we wanted in the game made it! Capcom's listening!" No, you knew they were in there. They do that.
Box art looks cool.
all well and good but if the only way to make your CAF's stats good is to job in fights and then destroy your sparring partner again i can't be arsed. i don't like this focus on building up stats in modern games. no mercy gave you a set number of points to work with and that worked great.
I also wanna see fixed stat distribution return. It was a perfect system and well balanced, no worrying about hopping online and getting thrashed by some bloke who has a lifetime to buff up his character. This goes for any game with such a system, namely the SvR series.

I particularly like the D'arce choke finish at 1:11. |
James McSweeny has been announced as one of the bonus characters on the pre-order =\
bah fuck him
This roster is supposed to be legit.

Fuck I forgot about this thread. I came across a whole mess of vids I could've posted.
i dont think henderson or arlovski can be in the game since they have signed on to the EA sports MMA game.

EDIT: Here it is, i'd imagine all the fighters had a similar contract: Update: Fitch caved in and signed the contract. Thanks to Scott for reading MMAJunkie.com. Original Story: The Ultimate Fighting Championship has released welterweight crown contender Jon Fitch for refusing to sign his image rights away for a lifetime to UFC-based games being made by THQ. Fitch stated he thought it was "crazy" to sign "anything away for your lifetime." Fitch isn't the only one kicked out, as many of his teammates from the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose have been dismissed for refusing to submit. We'll take this to mean that Fitch won't be appearing in THQ's UFC 2009 Undisputed expected in May '09. We know, all 10 of you out there who were going to buy the game and cared are devastated. |
Preordered the other day, fingers crossed they have sorted out or done something about the quiters online.
Quitters gonna quit.
Hate quiters
If I wasn't getting my ass handed to me I'm finally putting a beating on someone - and I may not be even winning, just the mere lock of a submission or a knock down and BOOM... they rage-quit.
What do these pussies expect? Fucking free wins? Squash matches? I just don't understand. Quitter should be set back three official losses. |
So whats the deal, we gonna have a UFC tourney to crown a TPWW champion? Two divisions: x360 and ps3.
Might as well wait for the 2010 turn out.
definitely....though i'd imagine setting up a tourney might be abit hard seeing as how there are weight division limitations.
Hopefully they fix it so you can't built ridiculous super sayan guys. I built a kickboxer/judoka with an overall of 100 and handed many a guy their ass online (even a few of those 118 overall fags), but I couldn't take all the quits right after locking in the kimura (my signature) so I haven't played in months.

That stuck out to me, yes

Yeah, where's Anderson Silva?

He's obviously going to be in the game
Vid about career mode, some nice little touches in it: <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/A_iY4j20uHA&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/A_iY4j20uHA&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> |
Demo is released on Thursday for both Xox and PS3, been looking forward to this for some time.
bout damn time! Ive been waiting for the demo for like two weeks now.
I'm pretty stoked for this. I'll play you guys online, but I'll probably get my ass kicked.
Demo is exclusive for 'the community' with a code for the first week or two
What community?
wtf is the community?
I can only assume that means a fight club, which nobody talks about.
Site seems to be down at the mo, probably loads of people wanting the codes.

The fact that Wanderlei is not on that list would annoy me if he wasn't already confirmed.
cant wait to play as The Carpenter, dude has mad stamina.
wanderlei is in it.... hes in the gamestop video for it and hes on their roster list.... the mmajunkie list is a typo
lol they really dropped the ball with the demo
Giving it to the 'community' is fucking bullshit.
It takes like 11 seconds to become a member of the community
Yea I signed up this morning for a chance to hopefully get a demo. My only problem as in why I may not get it is because it says you need to definently have your residence and state filled out. Everytime I type it in and click save it switches to Afghanistan.
Codes are live
Yea got my code..Played it for a little bitl..
Doesnt seem to different from the last game. I am interested in how many people are gonna use that Undisputed Community thing and train because it seems interested but I really dont think people will use it that much. |
Still far too many flash KO's
I'm loving that you can posture up now in various guards.
Fighting against the cage is cool, although I'm trying to get used to the new clinch system.. They seem to have gotten rid of the whole "sway before knees" in the clench, so that set up doesn't seem to be as cheap anymore, and it's also sped up. The sway system is cool, and thankfully, unlike some of the fight night games, swaying doesn't leave your opponent "stunned", so it's not going to be insanely abused. The stand up game is a lot less robotic/stiff... At the same time, since it's more fluid, there don't seem to be a lot of preset combos anymore... They do exist though. Also, it seems like they stand you up quicker in this game if you're not working on the ground or in the clinch, which is cool. Oh, and you can actually knock a guy out bad enough where it shows the trainers helping him on the ground, and when they do the winner announcements, he's not there. Awesome. |
Yeah the new clinch system is taking some getting used to, but overall it seems pretty slick. Already had quite afew fights and so far all seems good, fighters seem to get cut pretty easily though.
Yeah game is much better at the fighting all around the cage aspect. Still having trouble figuring out all the things you can do when up against the cage. Noticed that when on your back close to the cage, you can actually use the cage to try and escape back to your feet. Also you can still do the sway before the knees by using minor transitions then hitting left or right kick while in the clinch.
Is there been any videos or news on what the career mode will be like this year? |
The demo is fun. Does Event Mode mean that you can create your own card?
so, since i havent played the demo yet...did they do ANYTHING to address the ease of transition defense (holding the right stick) and full mount? I couldnt stand how fucks just got in full mount and put their hands up to play paddy cakes with no consequence to stamina or position.
Probably shouldn't let them get full mount
motherfucker, i had a 140+ and 40 record, im a god at that game...but it never stopped some people from shifting to mount.
so, in the event that some fuck managed to get to that without me reversing it on him, they would play like little fucking girls and throw two punches followed by 5 seconds of putting their hands up. Now i ask again, DID THEY ADDRESS THE ISSUE REGARDING STAMINA LOSS WHEN MOUNTED.
I lose stamina after I mount my nuts in yr. mouth
Quote:
Oh okay, so youre honestly gonna tell me you had NO problems EVER when people mounted. That 'time your escape' is bullshit, because when you'd get blocked your stamina dropped 20% and the dudes stamina barely dropped at all, so you'd set yourself up for a KO or submission if you had a BJJ guy on you. So timing your escape rarely worked, you had to work to get the '3rd try break' rule.
Like I said, it could be annoying, especially when I didn't really know the controls etc in single player with Brock taking me down, getting mount and fucking my shit up. But after a while, it 'clicked' when to reverse, when to wait or cover up etc and the times I'd give up mount afterwards didn't cause me too much grief. There were the occasional times when my opponent was pretty good and my reversal/escape attempts and him blocking them would go on for a while, that could get frustrating/boring. But rarely did I/do I take shots from mount.
so rather than answer my damn question, you enraged me enough to just download the demo and see for myself. Ill answer it: The stamina drops more for the guy on bottom, but they both recover fairly quickly.
So, has anyone figured out if you can fully posture up like you could from the guard in 09? Or have they ditched the full posture? |
I ditched my undies to fully posture my nuts in yr. mouth
Quote:
And no, not 'worked out' posturing up. Not played a whole lot of the demo and twice my fighter has attempted to posture up in the bunch of times I've tried. No idea how I did it though. It's probably quite simple. Haven't checked the controls list. |
Is Junior Dos Santos in this game?
Junior Dos Nutos in yr. mouth
In yr. mouth and in yr. game
there is no real control list. I dont know why they didnt throw in the tutorial like they did in last years demo, that would have been helpful. From what ive figured out, holding up on the left stick postures you up, but it doesnt seem like a full posture...maybe it is though, i dunno, i could just be used to last years static transitions and full postures.
When I'm holding my stick it helps me transition my nuts to yr. mouth
Heard that the more punches you land the higher your guy postures up.
Well i postured abit in the full mount and once the guy was rocked it went automatically to a full posture UFC 09 style, so maybe thats the only way you can really full posture.
I just smashed Shoguns face in from side control while having his back. Just kept giving him bombs, and he refused to block.
up the difficulty hoe
Quote:
LOL! They have doctors stoppages in the game too due to cuts.
Quote:
"I can see his skull." When I heard that line, I a. cringed b. had no problem with the ref stopping the fight. |
I couldn't get out of full mount to save my life on last year's game. Definitely lost a lot of fights to it. :(
You shouldn't have as many problems this year now you have more experience combined with how different posturing up is
im trying to figure out if reversals work the same as last year...i have yet to pull one off.
Gonna try this later and do one of those previews I like doing.
Yeah WTF? I can get mount easily, but I can't posture up and rain death like I used to. WTF am I doing wrong?
I've only postured up once and I KO'd Lyoto with 2 shots, went for it as soon as I got mount. You have to keep hold of left or right on the left stick whilst throwing shots. Won't work if the guy on bottom has his arms around your guys head though, which tends to be most of the time from mount
So I've decided to join in on the fun with you guys and I'll probably goozex it when it comes out. Someone explain the basics to me. I'm doing fairly well striking. On Beginner. When the cpu grapples me and forces me against the cage, I can never escape. Ever. How do I do submissions? Need help understanding how to grapple.
Also, how many fights should go the distance in the course of playing this game? Had a lot of KOs in the first round. On beginner, mind you. |
Are we starting a "clan" in this "community"? I would be down.
click the right stick to go into a submission, then 'shine' to get them to submit (assume they have low stamina). LT aims for the legs, LB goes for the head when striking. Transitions are done in half circle and quarter circle motions, so when the cpu grapples you, you have to do either these minor transitions (quarter) or major (half) to jockey for proper position.
hold LT and push forward on the right stick to shoot in for a takedown, and during the struggle you must also 'shine'. |
What is "shine"ing?
full circle over and over with the right stick.
the speed of it isnt as important as the accuracy of doing a complete circle, always remember that.
Quote:
that depends on the difficulty of the opponent. On expert matches tend to go the distance in 3 round fights, and usually 4th or 5th round you get a KO or Sub (if you pace yourself correctly) in championship fights.
So I won a tournament on experienced and I guess I should bump it up one more notch. Still not comfortable when I'm against the cage or if I have my opponent against it.
Should we join that "community" and start our own "clan" or whatever? |
Camp TPWW

I registered.
I nominate Alvarado as leader since he is so wonderful in this video game. |

Quick summary: Buy UFC Undisputed 2010 used and you have to pay $5 to be able to fight online. :nono: |
wow. This is kinda getting outta control.
Well, I can't blame them really. They are a business, and they are losing money from used games. And it could be a lot worse. 5 dollars is nothing.
Terrible idea.
The big problem I see is that the used-game business is also a business, so once the consumer gets wind that every game seems to need $5-$10 to play online, then the stores drop their prices for the trade-ins to compensate as they'll have to start selling the used game cheaper.
Less trade-in value = less new games sold. |
I believe I stated my thoughts on this in another thread. Still getting this though.
State them again. You know nobody was paying attention.
