Misunderstood Theme Songs

So, I often have trouble hearing and making out what the lyrics in theme songs. Leading to me not knowing what is said until usually months later I bother to look up the actual lyrics.

Here are a few examples:

Sheamus: "It's a Sheam' for fame (a yeah) That's my name!" (I still don't know what this one actually is. Don't care about Sheamus enough to look up the lyrics)

Kofi Kingston: "SOS! I hear them soldja!! SOS I hear them waaaaaay" (Actual lyrics: I hear them shoutin'. I hear them cryin'")

The Miz: "I CAN'T COMPARE!" (Actual lyrics, "I came to play". This one made me angry because I was wondering why they gave him a theme that shouted he couldn't compare over and over again.)

I know I used to confuse Matt Hardy's theme as well, but I forget what.

Has this ever happened to you?

This has been another Useless Thread brought to you by Lock Jaw, in conjunction with posters like you.

Xero 02-22-2010 08:31 PM

On Kofi's I hear "SOS! Can ya hear me Shelton!?"

"It's a shame for they, lost their head."

:)

The lyrics to Raw is War during the Attitude Era ("Thorn In Your Eye").

Never could understand the middle part where it sounds like they say "soul of beef" since it never made any sense with the rest of the song. WWE had an episode on one of their Saturday recap shows where they quizzed the wrestlers on the lyrics and nobody got it completely correct.

I remember being quite proud of myself when I was about 14 for knowing the words to Austin's Disturbed theme after finding it indecipherable (is that even a word?) for a while. Got the lyrics from here too.

Dorkchop 02-22-2010 10:03 PM

I could never understand a single word in Test's theme.

Road Warrior 02-22-2010 10:47 PM

I've never really had a problem figuring out lyrics in theme songs, but then again I speak english.

I can't understand a word of this theme after the intro.

CSL 02-22-2010 11:11 PM

Pretty sure he mentions Vladimir Kozlov in there

I can't understand a word of this theme after the intro.

Apparently, the lyrics are....

Test, this is a Test, Test, Test, This is a Test

Here we go, bring your name, we can hold peace
Here we go, bring your name on the go
Freakin' pull the line and go, for the high school sock hop
Give it up, cause you and I know
Conceit to fall on parasol
'Cause here we go, we can hold peace

Yo, here we go, bring your name on the go
Bring it, here we go, bring your name on the go
Bring it for (...?), you can go
Here we go, bring your name on the go Freakin'

Test (give it in), this is a Test (here we are again)
Give it in, here we are again
Test (give it in), this is a Test (here we are again)
Give it in, here we are again
Test (give it in), this is a Test (here we are again)
Give it in, this is a Test (here we are again)

(Repeat All But The Intro Until The End)

Lock Jaw 02-22-2010 11:50 PM

Think those lyrics are wrong, they don't mention Vladimir Kozlov.

Mr. Nerfect 02-23-2010 04:38 AM

I'm just waiting for the "Stand Back"/"Stay in the back" thing to be brought up...

Volare 02-23-2010 09:01 AM

Dolph's theme had me thinking his theme started with "I am affection."

glanville6 02-23-2010 01:47 PM

For HHH's "My Time" my friend thought "Follow the leader let the blind lead the blind" was "follow the leader let the blind nigga fly."

RGWhat316 02-23-2010 02:03 PM

The opening of Kozlov's sounds like "Yo Pringles chips in bowl".

Nark Order 02-23-2010 02:21 PM

Lord-Of-Darkness 02-23-2010 04:20 PM

I used to think the beginning of X-Pac's theme was just someone screaming 'X-Paaaacccc', but after months of delusion, my friend looked up the lyrics and found it was 'Make some noise'.

Also, I never understood Test's either, until now of course. But I always thought the line I now know as 'we can hold peace' was something about goat cheese. I have no idea why.

kareru 02-23-2010 04:53 PM

in Sheamus's theme i can't help but hear

"It's a Sheam' for fame......(something) a careless man"

i know its 'callous' but i like the idea of a clumsy wrestler

Gerard 02-23-2010 05:32 PM

Its a shame for fame, lost their head
A careless man who could wind up dead
You wear your sin like its some kind of prize
Too many lies, too many lies

oooooooo ooooooooo

These words are true and i'lll make you believe
oooooooo ooooooooo
Yeah you fight for every trouble just to breath

oooooo ooooooo
And you wear your cowardess well
And i will see you ride it, straight to hell

Its written in your face, in the shadows of my eyes
when the devil comes a callin, it breaks your earthly ties

The land will break and the seas will rise
The wind will rage as it burns up the sky
All you beliefs will be broken and fall
On your final day, when i end it all

Too much free time :o

The lyrics for Test's theme song clearly go as follows:

Test, Test, This is a Test

Gadda you freak, gadda gadda you freak
Gadda you freak, gadda gadda you freak
(Repeat until end)

Anybody Thrilla 02-23-2010 06:25 PM

Honestly, even though I never knew a single word, I always loved that theme.

I dunno...I always thought it was "X-Pac", but that kinda did sound like 'make some noise'.

I can sorta hear what sounds like the end of "noise" but before that it sounds like someone shouting xpac.

Just enforces what i said in the other thread about generic shit with some cunt screeching into a mic, prime example here.

Anybody Thrilla 02-23-2010 06:50 PM

I always wondered what was being said at the beginning of The Brood's theme. It sorta sounded like they were threatening Golga.

Jeritron 02-23-2010 06:53 PM

Apparently The Brood theme says "hairy ballls" when played backwards. I think me and a friend recorded it on a yak back, to confirm the rumor, and it was true.

I shit you not

Anybody Thrilla 02-23-2010 06:54 PM

Jeritron 02-23-2010 06:54 PM

Jeritron 02-23-2010 06:55 PM

The way it's presented with that music and voice is really scary, to be honest.

Xero 02-23-2010 06:56 PM

I've always wondered what soundbytes are used in the Attitude opening.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/d4S4QYdDZic&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/d4S4QYdDZic&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

There's definitely spoken words throughout. Almost sounds like the women who does Test's theme.

Anybody Thrilla 02-23-2010 06:57 PM

TNA should change Orlando Jordan's name to Lergnag and have him use that reversed version of the Brood's theme.

Jeritron 02-23-2010 06:59 PM

I just felt like posting this because of Xpac's theme being discussed. They really got lazy when it came to making Xpac a theme, even though it was great
