is shawn michaels retiring?

no ones discussed it. could this be his retirement match? hence the stipulation?

surely he wouldnt have it against the undertaker, never imagined it being aginst anyone other then hunter.

Favre4Ever 02-23-2010 11:03 PM

no.

Mr. C 02-23-2010 11:04 PM

Could be.

As he pointed out last night, many people said that he and The Undertaker had the greatest match in the history of WrestleMania, while some even said it was the greatest match period. I could see him wanting to have his last match be a rematch of the greatest match of his career, and where else would Mr. WrestleMania end his career other than WrestleMania? Makes sense.

VSG 02-23-2010 11:41 PM

I have to say Yes here frankly!

DAMN iNATOR 02-23-2010 11:41 PM

Yep. This is gonna be it.

Fox 02-23-2010 11:42 PM

Yeah. He'll retire until Summerslam.

good call

James Steele 02-24-2010 12:04 AM

The only way Shawn Michaels will retire is if this happens:

SPOILER: show

The Pope 02-24-2010 12:07 AM

I thought he already retired like twice or more.

Jeritron 02-24-2010 12:08 AM

What exactly "happened" there JamesSteele? You posted an entrance video.

"THE GAME" TRIPLE H HAPPENED!

Favre4Ever 02-24-2010 12:34 AM

HBK also briefly retired in like 1995 remember.

Perry Saturn 02-25-2010 12:18 AM

And he was briefly retired from 1997-2002 ironically after a match with the undertaker

Shadow 02-25-2010 01:29 AM

Yes because of posters like you.

DaVe 02-25-2010 03:51 AM

That's a bit harsh, isn't it?

Actually it was between 1998 and 2002.

Xero 02-25-2010 10:56 AM

And he retired after a match with Austin.

GoneFishing 02-25-2010 11:24 AM

He might, who knows at this point....

Joesgonnakillyou 02-25-2010 02:53 PM

Wrestlers don't really retire, they just die...

QFT

Mr. C 02-25-2010 03:24 PM

Honestly, what I’d love to see is this:

The Undertaker defeats Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania.

The following night, Triple-H comes out and congratulates Michaels on his career. Bret Hart comes out and congratulates Michaels on his career. One or two other people in Michaels’ career say something to him (e.g. Stone Cold Steve Austin). The Undertaker is the last person to head to the ring to congratulate Michaels. End segment/show.

If Michaels is genuinely retiring, he deserves the Flair treatment. HOF, epic final match, and ceremony full of tributes and old faces on Raw.

Jeritron 02-25-2010 05:03 PM

And then he can take two years off and work a tag match with Abyss on the 3/8 Impact

Xero 02-25-2010 05:07 PM

lol

James Steele 02-25-2010 06:33 PM

Shawn Michaels deserves to have Bret Hart suck his dick in the middle of the ring to close WrestleMania.

FourFifty 02-25-2010 10:02 PM

Unless he dies he's going to retire. I guess the question would be the time frame in which he retires.

That kind of reminded me of the "Walker Texas Ranger Lever" from Conan O'brien. Sorry for off topic, just sayin.

Destor 02-26-2010 12:56 AM

hbk said 2 years ago he was gonna work the next 2 years and then go...i thought everyone knew he was hangin up...

I laughed, but then I realized this might not be a joke.

Nicky Fives 02-26-2010 04:04 PM

he'll lose, but he'll find a way back by summerslam..... I suspect some sort of shenanigans at Wrestlemania in their match.... maybe a Double DQ/ Double CO or something

NeanderCarl 02-28-2010 04:29 PM

No chance in hell Undertaker's winning streak is coming to an end in a no contest/draw.

Mr Amazing 03-08-2010 12:41 PM

Could anyone besides me see HBK beating Taker, Taker gets his send off at mania simular to Flair at mania and then HBK the next night annouces his retirement and gets a send off that night on Raw?

CSL 03-08-2010 12:52 PM

Not with the double retirement gimmick but I can see HBK winning.

Well good to know that i am loved

DLVH84 03-08-2010 06:10 PM

I think Shawn is going to retire this year. I've heard rumors last year that WM 26 would be his last.

Mr Amazing 03-08-2010 08:22 PM

I believe Shawn has been trying to retire for the last couple of years

CSL 03-08-2010 09:13 PM

He hasn't tried retiring for shit, dude is a self-confessed mark

Damian Rey 03-08-2010 10:03 PM

Agree with Nicky5's. If/when he loses, he'll find his way back by SummerSlam if not early fall. He's still a decent draw, has a good amount left in the tank, and there's still some people he could match up with for the forseeable future. I'm honestly hoping for Triple H/HBK fued sometime next year. It's been a long while since Hunter was a heel, which is what I enjoy most as.

Or go to TNA, but that's the same thing.

Rock Bottom 03-09-2010 08:12 AM

I think he'll lose and interfere on behalf of Bret when Vince pulls whatever bullshit he does.

Rock Bottom 03-09-2010 08:14 AM

I mean they left a couple loose ends with Michaels and Vince, and 'Taker and Vince, I wouldn't put it out as a possibility.

I was thinking he will lose to Taker, but 'cut a deal with the devil' to save his career by later helping Vince overcome Bret in return for an official reprieve from the career ending stipulation.

Then, HBK vs Bret at Backlash or Rehash or whatever the fuck it's called nowadays, with the stipulation that if Bret wins, he gets 5 minutes alone with McMahon inside a steel cage. HBK swerves Vince and finally 'lays down' for Bret, and Bret gets an extended 5 minute beatdown, Sharpshooter-fest on Vinnie Mac to bring to an end the Vince-Bret angle.

I think HBK will emerge victorious......unless we see an unexpected heel turn from HHH (costing HBK the match).

From WrestleZone

Quote:

We’ve been reporting for several weeks now that Shawn Michaels plans to take time off after WrestleMania, but this time around might be different. His time off could be longer this time than it was last year after WrestleMania 25. Michaels could be held off until next year’s WrestleMania when he can do a sendoff much like WWE did for Ric Flair.
He’ll lose to The Undertaker and interfere on behalf of Bret Hart.

Mr. C 03-20-2010 08:13 PM

Quote:

The latest word is that Shawn Michaels may actually end up retiring for good after WrestleMania 26 and is said to be ready to call it a career.
That was in one of the newsletters.

DLVH84 03-20-2010 09:15 PM

I think Shawn Michaels is really winding down. He's had an awesome 26-year career (since October 16, 1984), 22 (since June 18, 1988) of them spent in WWE.

I think Triple H will give him a Flair-like sendoff with guys from his past (Marty Jannetty, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Bret Hart, etc.) congratulating him.

BobBitchen 03-20-2010 09:24 PM

He lost his smile again. :(
