OG Sarah Connor is back, and James Cameron is involved. Yeah, I'm feeling good about this one.

Destor 05-24-2019 02:47 AM

A great film that never should have been a franchise

El Vaquero de Infierno 05-24-2019 04:00 AM

So where does it fit in the series? Is this a sequel to T2 and we disavow all the other films?

I think that is there plan, seem to remember reading that in an Empire article on it.

Juan 05-24-2019 05:17 AM

Yeah it’s meant to be a sequel to T1 and T2

Fignuts 05-24-2019 05:23 AM

I'm okay with that.

I didn't hate T3 or Genesis. They were totally fucking dumb, but I enjoyed them for what they were.

Glad we have what looks like a more capable sequel here. Hope it's good!

Rammsteinmad 05-24-2019 06:46 AM

I want to be excited, especially since I love the franchise and Terminator 2 is one of my all-time favourite movies.

But with that said, I'm just not feeling it. Feels like Linda Hamilton and James Cameron returning to the franchise is a desperate attempt to make people care.

Plus, the CGI in that trailer looks pretty naff.

slik 05-24-2019 08:55 AM

Looks 'just ok'

CGI pretty eh too

slik 05-24-2019 08:55 AM

For all James Cameron's bitching about superhero films the Terminators now move like/resemble superhero film characters a lot.

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 09:14 AM

James Cameron is a world class arsehole but I will always love him for Terminator, T2, True Lies and The Abyss.

Indeed

El Vaquero de Infierno 05-25-2019 06:02 PM

You forget Aliens, motherfuckers!

Seanny One Ball 05-25-2019 06:18 PM

Aliens didn't affect me as much as the listed films despite it being an excellent film. I think I just lump it in with the Alien franchise.

Blonde Moment 05-25-2019 06:51 PM

Aliens is just a different movie but Alien just has something special about it much like Abyss

Seanny One Ball 05-25-2019 06:59 PM

It actually took me three or four separate attempts to watch The Abyss fully. I just couldn't get into it for some reason, then when I finally did see it all I couldn't rate it highly enough.

Blonde Moment 05-25-2019 07:02 PM

First saw it at a D&D convention back in the 90's and was hooked. Try to watch it a few times a year now and am never disappointed.

Terminator Genisys was an okay movie that I'm glad isn't cannon. T3 was entertaining. Salvation was so far in the future that it wasn't damaging anything.

Would have liked a movie built off of The Sarah Conner Chronicles, tho.

I cried during that lava scene at the end of Judgement Day. Like a little baby. I was like 5 or 6...the things you remember.

Seanny One Ball 05-28-2019 03:14 PM

Terminator Genisys is probably the worst major franchise sequel ever made. I include every Halloween, Friday the 13th, Predator, Alien, Rocky, Rambo, Fast and Furious.... Dumb and Dumberer... Everything you can think of, it is worse than.

Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor - might as well have cast Peter Dinklage as The Terminator.

Seanny One Ball 05-28-2019 03:16 PM

Peter Dinklage would be a better Sarah Connor too, Linda Hamilton was... not hot...

Agreed. Soccer mom kind of looks.

Sixx 05-28-2019 03:26 PM

Peter Dinklage would make for a great soccer mom, too.

Fignuts 05-28-2019 07:35 PM

With Genesis It’s almost like they wanted to take the subject matter seriously, but didn’t have the balls to do it. This all the goofy stuff that awkwardly stood out.

However I don’t go into these movies with any sort of expectations so I typically end up enjoying them despite their flaws.

What I can’t ignore is when a movie is boring. Like the most recent Fantastic Four. I don’t think I’ve seen anything that was as by the numbers as that film.

Damian Rey 2.0 05-28-2019 07:58 PM

I liked T3 for what it was. It at least tried to tell a story branching off the 2nd one and while it wasn't a masterpiece, it's better than anything they've come out with since. Salvation was bad and its just gotten worse.

Lock Jaw 05-28-2019 08:47 PM

Yeah... T3 was an alright action flick that at least tried to do its own thing and stand on its own.

Salvation I don't really remember at all.

Genisys was a movie very much "concerned" with setting up sequels and a new franchise... and forgot to actually make a decent movie in the process

I enjoyed The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and thought Lena Heady made a good Sarah Connor....

rez 07-19-2019 08:51 AM

Edward Furlong returning as the OG John Connor. Aw yis

Hope he's not all fat and drugged out still

Seanny One Ball 07-19-2019 06:23 PM

That's the most positive thing I've heard so far, James Cameron re-hiring a black listed junkie woman beater to play the only role he's known for.

American History X

Seanny One Ball 07-20-2019 07:45 PM

He made a lot of films bud, I'm sitting here looking at a copy of Animal Factory but he's known for T2.

WrestleRacer91 05-07-2020 03:20 AM

Was this any good? I didn't get around to checking it out when it was in theaters.

Lock Jaw 05-07-2020 12:29 PM

It was fun. The best sequel since T3.... of course still nowhere near the first two.
