Is impact wrestling better than wwe?

I haven’t watched wrestling in a long time because wwe is just so terrible. I want to know if impact is still “loltna” or has the ugly duckling being transformed into a swan yet?

xrodmuc316 11-10-2018 12:50 AM

Didn't we just have this thread?

Hasn't even been a full month...

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-10-2018 01:17 AM

Answer: No.

Fignuts 11-10-2018 07:55 AM

It's probably better than Raw, but not Smackdown, and certainly not as good as NXT.

Fignuts 11-10-2018 07:55 AM

Saying it's better than Raw, is like saying it's better than A Serbian Film, though.

Not much of a victory.

Sixx 11-10-2018 01:57 PM

Do they still have those stupid rings?

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-11-2018 12:14 AM

Six Sides of shit is gone but it's usually a small ring because they can't go anywhere real.

The MAC 11-11-2018 08:35 AM

OKay since the topic was mentioned prior. Lets change it to

What is Impact doing right ?

Tricking 200,000 or so people into thinking they are good because they are not WWE, even though they push any former WWE talent to the top of the card.

They do that right over and over and again.

Simple Fan 11-12-2018 11:57 PM

They haven't even done that right in the past. Aries and Johnny Impact make sense story wise as their champion. Years past they'd just put it on the latest WWE release.

What Impact is doing right product wise is story telling. They've got characters that progress on a weekly basis. On the other side of things they've got back on the road and selling tickets for shows instead of just doing 4 tapings a year in Orlando along with 2 PPVs. They do about 3 to 4 weeks of TV per taping now instead of 3 months. It's the simple things really but they are doing them right.

While nowhere near the latest release, their current champ is someone WWE literally created from the start on Tough Enough.

I'm aware that Johnny used to be in WWE but its been awhile. It's not like when Dixie was in charge and had to have a WWE name at the top. Johnny has built a career for himself outside of WWE and hm being on Survivor is probably why he's champion now.

EIWF 11-14-2018 06:07 PM

Impact looks second rate where they are filming. Still......at least its an alternative.

My Final Heaven 11-15-2018 01:43 AM

One thing I prefer on Impact, the Heels for me seem to be better. "fresher", I dunno. I'd take Drake, Sydal and Callahan over Orton, Lesnar and Miz.

Matt Sydal's been tearing it up tor the last year or so, his whiny voiced Hare Krishna-esque character is awesome.

Big Vic 11-15-2018 12:15 PM

Impact would be smart to keep Johnny Mundo champ until sometime after the season Finale of Survivor.

They are dumb if they don't make sure he comes out with that belt on stage.

Simple Fan 11-15-2018 12:34 PM

Yeah I agree. When is the finale?

Big Vic 11-15-2018 01:06 PM

I think a month from now.

Mr. Nerfect 11-21-2018 05:18 AM

No, it's not better. Hiring Morrison and Bordeaux are good moves, but the rot is in.

Loose Cannon 11-21-2018 10:55 AM

i honestly didn't realize they still had a tv show. is it still on POP TV or whatever?

Big Vic 11-21-2018 10:59 AM

Anybody ever watch their http://www.Pluto.tv channel? It's like their answer to WWE Network, just... scaled back to the Nth degree. I'll switch over to it sometimes when I'm burned out on Unsolved Mysteries 24/7

Simple Fan 11-21-2018 12:53 PM

Their version of the WWE Network is the Global Wrestling Network. Think it's $7.99 a month and has a few independent promotions on it and all their old PPVs and shows. Only current PPVs on it are the One Night Only shows though. Doesn't have a 24 hour stream either and is pretty much just an on demand thing. Probably why they have the Twitch and Pluto channels as well.

They are, but their ratings dropped significantly (about a third of people left) and they got moved from their time-slot to a later one and they dropped again. They now sit on about 100,000 viewers each episode. Their rating with 18-49 demo now sits at a 0.01.

Mr. Nerfect 11-21-2018 05:28 PM

This was a show once watched by 2 million people. They have lost 95% of their audience.

Fignuts 11-21-2018 05:30 PM

I would still rather watch this than raw. Impact may be bad, but I’d rather watch something bad, than something boring.

Fignuts 11-21-2018 05:32 PM

SmackDown is generally a better show, and literally everything else WWE does (nxt, 205, MYC,etc) is miles better than impact.

So, no to impact being better in general.

That's tricky. I'd pass on both, but gun to my head, I'd probably still go with Raw. At least I can whinge about Raw and it kind of contrasts with my memories of good times. I can nostalgic from how shit it is, in a weird way. TNA is a fucking mess. They have fights to non-diegetic music for crying out loud.

I'll take shitty "burn it down" references over something I want to burn with fire.

EIWF 11-22-2018 06:24 PM

No.
If wwe has gotten worse, impact has also, oh times that by fifty.

That logic make no sense. Impact isn't completely better but they do have better storytelling and progression in their product. I'm the resident Impact fan and I'm not the one making these threads about Impact being better. Plenty of alternatives out there if you can get past the fancy presentation that WWE puts on to make their product seem superior.

Mr. Nerfect 11-23-2018 05:01 PM

People aren’t saying it’s better; they’re asking if it is.
