Hate when trailers have a whole god damn scene in them. Giving away too much. Looks awesome though.
|
Bill Hader was an outstanding choice for this.
Looks incredible. |
Great casting all around to be honest.
|
I fear McAvoy was an error of judgement but we'll see.
I like the way Pennywise moves in that clip. |
Eh, I like McAvoy.
|
It wasn't about liking him, I just don't see any need for huge stars to be in it at this stage. It should be a cast full of people picked to suit the child's performance in part 1.
I could be worried about nothing but McAvoy isn't who I imagine as that kid grown up. He's a solid actor with a couple of great performances behind him in between the pap so even if he's a poor fit the film shouldn't suffer too much. |
I would have said the same about Chastain but she does have a similar quality to her, just not as obviously tough.
|
I guess I just despise the casting of adult bill from the original so much that anything seems like a massive improvement
|
Him and his dumb ponytail
|
Hm, I thought this was gonna be about nerds and their computers. Guess it'sbecause you've capitalized both letters.
|
Now THAT'S a horror trailer. No cheesy jump scares. Just pure, building tension. Agreed with the way Pennywise was moving. So damn good. Damn thing gave me chills.

Is that Bernie?

If Jessica Chastain ever wins an Oscar I'll know that the world has been irreparably corrupted in a way that can't be undone in my lifetime. I'll probably have to live in a cave.
|
Why u hate Jessica??
|
I don't.
She's a weird politically posturing hypocrite but she's actually a very likeable person when she's being normal. I just look at her career and think "Feminist Oscar bait" for most of it. |
I can hate things without hating people. Paulson swung me round eventually, all I had to do was go back to American Gothic.
Chastain blew me away in The Help, she was great in Lawless and Interstellar but everything else... yeesh. Try hard much? |
Jessica Chastain is hot as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, son.

Man, forgot about Lawless. Stellar film. |

I just hope this one gives Bill Skaarsgard more of a chance to be creepy and not just rely on CGI for PW.
|
That opening scene in the gutter is a prime example. Until the very very end, no CGI. Just straight creepy af.
|
The CGI was great, I thought. I loved IT, it was easily in my top ten films that year. I definitely found it scarier than anyone I know though, feel like it ain't for kids.
|
Didn't say that the CGI wasn't good. Saying the Skaarsgard is pretty talented in the role and that could be used more effectively than "easier" go-to CGI warped faces.
|
Why do you hate CGI so much, Frank?
TELL ME! |
I was molested while watching a CGI scene as a kid.
There. Are you happy now?? |
*runs away*
