You don't have to. I'm actually fairly ambivalent towards spoilers unless somebody sees a spoiler tag, loses their shit for no reason and immediately posts massive great spoilers just to be a prick.

Spoiler tags allow and facilitate free discussion between individuals in a thread regardless of who has seen what.

Open spoilers drive a fraction of people away.

Editing a current thread title to insert "SPOILERS INSIDE" actually stops a bunch of people who had been posting in it from continuing to do so.

Typing spoiler tags into your post does not take long, does everybody the favour of allowing them to decide if they want to read it and it's just safer that way overall.

You're making the ability to enter a thread way more than it is. I avoid movie and TV threads all the time post-launch with no feeling of being excluded or whatever the hell you're dramatizing until I see the damn thing and join the convo.

And let's be 100% real here: The glory days of a sub-section being full of updated unread threads after logging off for a day is gone. Pages flip by slower, engagement is low. You aren't missing out on anything.

Most other boards I belong to have a standard 5 day or one week policy for spoiler tags along with a note in thread title whether spoilers are allowed yet or not. It’s not that difficult to follow.

Some people like check the thread for a review or to se now the movie was without wanting to see spoilers. But after the grace period enter at your own risk.

Here at TPWW we spoil everything for everyone.

Suppose the easiest solution is to just make a new spoiler thread when the movie comes out. Kind of like how some you tubers have separate review videos for spoilers and non spoilers.
