I'll be back for this one its like asking do I want to be shot or hung.

Big Vic 09-12-2017 03:09 PM

Not sure if I will give my reasons this round since I wasn't repped last round

hpmf

Sixx 09-12-2017 03:10 PM

Oddly this is very easy for me. Loved Michaels in his earlier days, mentioned that last round, but his later days were kinda meh to me.

Jericho, as far as I recall has always delivered, don't remember him ever boring me, his promos are hilarious (motherfucking armbar) and always entertaining. He fronts Fozzy who actually covered some of my favorite songs. And let us never forget what he's done for Tazz Dan.

Also, HBK is balding.

Jericho all the way.

Kinda a hard choice for once but HBK wins.

This was a good enough reason

Evil Vito 09-12-2017 03:31 PM

I expect Shawn to win this. But Jericho is my favorite wrestler ever. So I have to go with him.

Evil Vito 09-12-2017 03:32 PM

Also, this poll makes me want to re-watch Jericho and Shawn's entire 2008 feud.

Sepholio 09-12-2017 03:33 PM

Can I vote for both? Need clarification here.

Depends. If Im really undecided/or I feel like I could be swayed I will wait to hear peoples reasons hoping someone can nudge me in the a direction. But if I feel really strongly I vote early.

Destor 09-12-2017 04:00 PM

Like with this one I think it is a blow out for HBM

Sepholio 09-12-2017 04:03 PM

IMO I think these are the 2 best guys overall EVAR~~~

Both deserve to be in the HoF. But which one goes first? Such a hard choice. UHG DAMN YOU DESTOR.

Destor 09-12-2017 04:08 PM

This is a Best Wrestler level match up no doubt

Destor 09-12-2017 04:09 PM

(in act HBM defeated Y2J in the best wrestler tourny semi finals last time)

Sixx 09-12-2017 04:11 PM

Destor 09-12-2017 04:15 PM

HBM

but this was years ago...BW takes years to do...

While I love his work i do have to agree. People put him on part with every great work from every aspect of the game and he is rarelty deserving. Subtier guy. Great, but not truelyt exceptional.

Sixx 09-12-2017 05:13 PM

I don't judge them based on their wrestling skills, cause I don't know much about that shit.

Some jap would probably win this if it were wrestling skills only, eh?

I don't either normally but HBK is the best "big match" wrestler I've ever seen

Destor 09-12-2017 05:29 PM

In ring is an aspect. But its way down the list for me. Its all subjective to their market though.

For me Jericho is like a jack of all trades master of none kind of guy. Hes good at a lot of things but it leaves him lacking in a best of competition.

Plus he never even sort of became a draw. Post 02 HBM was a solid draw. Not amazing but more than Jericho.

DAMN iNATOR 09-12-2017 05:44 PM

Went Shawn here. I feel he's just a 1/4 notch above Jericho as IMO he's had more memorable matches and almost always looks great @WMs whether in victory or defeat. Not to mention becoming the first Grand Slam Champion and his run with the original DX.

Chris Jericho. Absolutely GOAT, anyone who disagrees is wrong, it's a scientifically proven fact.

Was writing out a post explaining why I was going to pick HBK, but then in the process of doing so, I convinced myself to vote for Chris Jericho. So I started writing another post about why I picked Chris Jericho, but while doing so I convinced myself to vote for HBK.

I think I'm going to take some more time to mull this over, and not sure that when the time comes I will be able to provide coherent reasoning for my pick....

KIRA 09-12-2017 06:56 PM

OK so I have to go with Jericho he can literally do everything(wrestlingwise he does it really really well)

and has been constantly entertaining (I also maintain that HBK is just above average on the mic) Jericho may not get the level of praise HBK enjoys but he is absolutely every bit the wrestler and performer Shawn was even moreso because Y2J never had to find his smile again.

AND HE GOT A FUCKING CLIPBOARD OVER! say what you want Shawn couldn't pull that off (DX made dick jokes didn't have to try too hard there)

Real close for me. Jericho has really just been on fire everytime he comes back. His overall career is unreal but HBK edges it out for me in the end.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-12-2017 08:11 PM

Jericho not as good in the ring but definitely the way better promo and I think better heel (recently watching Michael's 97 run)

Maluco 09-12-2017 08:58 PM

Jericho is talented and a good personality. Good interview and entertaining in comedy aspects.

HBK on another level in ring.

It is arguably the best American wrestler of all time vs a guy who was 6/10 in the ring and never even a top 5 guy in any company he worked for.

I can see people arguing Jericho based on what entertained them growing up. He definitely entertained me, but he is nowhere near Shawn Michaels as a wrestler, entertaining as he was.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-12-2017 09:00 PM

Jericho was at least 7.5-8 in the ring during his prime. Calling him a 6 is an injustice.

Where did you get 6/10 from

You can't be serious 6/10?

Destor 09-12-2017 09:31 PM

Id have said 7

Maluco 09-12-2017 09:52 PM

Ok, maybe a 7, but what is the scale here? If you are just talking in ring?

If the likes of HBK and Angle are 10's? A lot of guys on today's roster are better than Jericho was in the ring imo.

Guys like Styles, Bryan, Eddie, Rey would be your 9's

Guys like Cesaro, Rollins and even his mate Lance Storm are all quicker and more athletic.

Probably a 7, but my underlining point was there are a LOT of guys over the course of Jericho's career that were better than him from a purely in ring perspective.

Maluco 09-12-2017 09:55 PM

I don't think Jericho would have gotten anywhere if it wasn't for his personality, is what I am saying.

Destor 09-12-2017 10:00 PM

I can remember a slew of matches jericho got me hyped for and most under delivered

KIRA 09-12-2017 10:07 PM

Rey of today is like a 6 barely

#1-norm-fan 09-12-2017 10:19 PM

I'd give Jericho an 8 in the ring. Michaels is a 10 though without question.

#1-norm-fan 09-12-2017 10:21 PM

Michaels vs Jericho at WrestleMania MIGHT be the best Jericho match I've seen.

It doesn't crack the top 10 for best HBK matches I've seen. Maybe not even the top 20.

Yeah, Shawn has had a lot of better quality WM matches with frankly way higher caliber opponents than Y2J, such as Flair, Kurt, 'Taker, Austin...arguably even Bret.

I love Jericho, and his 2008 run was phenomenal, but I have to agree with this. Jericho's stuff can be very rote, and he's very, very good and delivers in other areas as well, but this idea that he's one of the best ever in the ring doesn't really hold up when you compare him to others.

Destor 09-13-2017 12:17 AM

I guarantee that if HBK came back he could get clicking a pen over. He just wouldn't need to. For the record, I like Jericho more than Michaels, but HBK would save the WWE if he returned, which is something that Jericho could never really deliver.

As for promos, while I know where you are coming from, and Jericho is a "natural" on the mic, I think the great HBK promos are arguably better than most of Jericho's work by a mile. How about that segment in Montreal? Or that one where he slowly turned heel against Daniel Bryan? Jericho is probably a better talker, in the most natural sense, but when you strip away the catchphrases and return the promo to its most genuine form -- talking people into a building -- I think HBK saying "The Showstopper is going to be turning up this Sunday" is going to get more people buzzed than anything Jericho could say.

The Triple Threat with Angle and Benoit? I did watch this recently, but don't remember being blown away. I think I definitely preferred Jericho/Michaels. I can't think of another great Jericho Mania match, to be honest. I think Jericho vs. Punk was "good." I liked some of their stuff, but emotionally I felt that the build left it a bit dry.

Oh, yeah, he's not bad by any means. He's not just "average" either. The dude is "good" and capable of doing "great" stuff. It just wasn't a thread of 11, like you said. #1-wwf-fan gave it a good framing when he pointed out that what was arguably Jericho's best match wasn't anywhere near Michaels' best match. In fact, I'd probably suggest that it may not touch Michaels' top five at Mania, just depending on where you sit on the Triple Threat, the Ladder Match and Flair's retirement.

I said Shawn Michaels pulled a watchable match out of The Great Khali.

You are confused by that because The Great Khali no longer wrestles.

The fact that The Great Khali no longer wrestles should not make the fact that Shawn Michaels pulled a watchable match out of him at one point confusing.

No, I was actually confused because I read that as "Michelle" and thought Khali somehow wrestled in that women's tournament somehow.

Its true. He has always been a bit below elite in the ring. But at the same time as many times as hes come.up short in the ring, he has had some absolutely fantastic matches. 2000 is probably his most consistent year.

Simple Fan 09-13-2017 11:39 AM

Went with Jericho, I like HBK but have truly grown up watching Chris Jericho and really only see HBKs later run in the WWE. While HBK is probably the better in ring talent I believe Jericho is more well rounded from a character and promo standpoint while also being pretty good in the ring.

Destor 09-13-2017 11:57 AM

Tight poll

Lock Jaw 09-13-2017 12:30 PM

Dunno. Gonna go with Jericho.

HBK might have had better matches, but Jericho also had his fair share of good matches. Even in his last run where people were like "Jericho isn't good in the ring anymore" I was alone off in the corner going "These are good matches! He's still got it!"

The deciding factor I guess is looking back I can remember more Jericho moments and things....................... just his personality and stuff puts him over for me...................... Wanted to vote for HBK just based on rassling...................... but taking everything else into account I think I gotta go with Jericho.................................................

Maybe................... I dunno................................. maybe I just want to make the poll even tighter.
