Titus O'Neill: future world champ?
Really think he just screams "World Champion". Guy is great on the mic, good enough in the ring, has a great look and can bring in the African American demo because he just seems like a really cool dude. Sucks to say this because I enjoy Darren Young, but I think the tag team is holding him back a bit, and I LOVE the PTP.

He's no Percy Watson.
|
Don't know whaaaaaat you're talking about
|
No, because the WHC is probably getting retired soon and Vince/Hunter will never let a black man hold the WWE title.
|
The Rock recently held the WWE title
|
The Rock isn't black.
He's like Half Samoan, Quarter White, Quarter Spanish. |
That equals 100.

Wishful thinking. Ooh-Rah Ooh-Rah
|
As loung as he doesn't catch Darren Young's gay
|
He's got the tools. I think with Titus it'll be a timing thing. When the PTP eventually split, he might be able to capture lightning and climb the ranks a bit. If they decided to push him, I wouldn't mind it if The Wyatt Family took out Darren Young viciously and then O'Neil went on a rampage against them. O'Neil would beat Rowan, Harper and then eventually Wyatt in singles matches before declaring that he's going to be a singles champion in WWE. O'Neil can beat a heel mid-card champion and win the title, only for Darren Young to then turn on him during his celebration and talk about the success O'Neil has had without him getting to his head.
|
i agree with this. the only thing that could hold him back is i believe he is already 36. and that is a bit old for someone who hasnt even had a midcard singles run yet alone a main eventer run
|
I think he's got the talent and skills to make a go at it.... like Noid says, though, it is all about timing. WWE isn't really known for frequently letting guys get up to "legit" main event status.
Which means he could still be World Heavyweight Champ, of course, since that isn't always "legit" main event status. |
Kofi needs to win first.
|
His age might be a potential issue depending on when he gets that big push but he's pretty talented enough to make a possible World title reign work out well.
Think Big E has a lot better chance of being WWE or World champion before Titus and becoming the main star for the African American market. |

I wonder if Mr. Fest will respond to this thread and give insight like SM did.....probably not......

Titus is dope for the WHC, I can get with it. Big E too. OH THE POSSIBILITIES. |
Owen Hart was just looking to fit in, he was the token
|
Kofi/Orton NEEDS to happen and Kofi NEEDS to win. Period!
|
Make it a win!

As long as there are two "world titles" then it's definitely possible but now with Cena taking the WHC it seems they're either doing away with throwing one of them on guys just to see if they can get over with it or they're in the process of unifying them. Which would make a Titus O'Neill reign much less realistic. |
Titus is still pretty new, so in t.v years he's really only a year and a half into his career. Vince reportedly likes him a lot and he seems like he'd be a good ambassador for the company. Really came off well in those cancer story videos. Kinda has that what you see in the ring is his real personality deal. Really hopes he gets a good push.

This is just fail. His father is SOULMAN ROCKY JOHNSON. He is African American. And, as history teaches us, if you have one eighth black in your blood...you're BLACK. Cause, you know, white people don't want no black up in them. |

You have to love Titus based on the strength of this segment <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/pMD1AGEj1MU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Well lets be real, The Rock, as a talent, came at a different era and time, and was an upper echelon kind of guy. Hell, Ahmed was close to holding the title at one point in that era.
|
I think if the guy was good enough skin colour wouldn't come into it. If the crowd were behind Kofi like they are/were Bryan and Punk at their peaks - and they were good on the mic, marketable, etc. - then Vince would roll with it.
|
It should help if he's a minority. Brings in those fans like Rey did with the mexican fans.

Kofi Kingston had amazing matches with Santino Marella and Ryback this past week. Think the dude deserves kudos for that. I kind of think that him beating Ryback would have been beneficial to him, since Ryback is in recharge mode again and could suffer a loss or two to sell Hell in a Cell and him needing Heyman.

Happy Kofi had the title but the build up he had after EC was poor. So was his title loss.
