TPWW Greatest Manager of All Time Tournament: Finals

Bad News Gertner 11-08-2017 05:27 PM

Heenan and Hart. Easy choices.

Destor 11-08-2017 05:29 PM

Easy peasy

Easy vote, ham 'n' eggers.

Mr. Nerfect 11-08-2017 06:17 PM

This was the easiest round of the lot.

This

Blonde Moment 11-08-2017 10:01 PM

Pretty straightforward

#1-norm-fan 11-08-2017 10:33 PM

Well, this Hart-Bearer matchup for 3rd was completely unnecessary.

Destor 11-08-2017 10:47 PM

Nah without it bearer would have been 3rd....

#1-norm-fan 11-08-2017 11:06 PM

Hart was 3rd seed already with 77 votes to Bearer's 73.

Destor 11-08-2017 11:08 PM

Yeah...but in my head the guy who lost to the winner is 3rd...

Emperor Smeat 11-08-2017 11:53 PM

Voted for Heenan as the greatest and Hart as 3rd place.

During the whole tournament was leaning towards Bearer as my 3rd place spot after Heyman and Heenan but switched after actually looking up how many guys Hart managed. Never realized how huge the list was and with some really notable names I completely forgot about him managing.

Ezra 11-08-2017 11:56 PM

Heenan and Hart.

Destor 11-09-2017 12:00 AM

Now that we're here: heyman isnt as good as this reflect IMO... The test of a great manager is takkng workers who arent very good and getting heat for them. Heyman takes guys whod be over without him a cuts their promos. I dont think ticket sales go up thanks to his work he just accents strong acts. He does it well enough to crack a top 10 probably but theres a slew of guys who were far more integral to their guys success.

Heyman is like...desert. you dont need him to have a meal but its a welcome addition.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-09-2017 12:05 AM

lol the one person who voted for Heyman

Yeah. I think Heyman dominating to this point was a bit much. Cornette's an easy #2 for me. The man made people wanna see him and his guys get murdered. And that's not even really an exaggeration.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-09-2017 12:15 AM

Heyman was also the defacto manager as promoter/owner for an entire company. Everybody in ECW was a project for him.

Destor 11-09-2017 12:21 AM

Manager =/= booker and/or promoter

Destor 11-09-2017 12:21 AM

If it did we need to redo this and add vince

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-09-2017 12:36 AM

Vince was manager of the Corporation and should have been included.

#1-norm-fan 11-09-2017 12:52 AM

Heidenreich says hello. And the careers of Curtis Axel and Cesaro didn't exactly skyrocket, did they? Did Heyman actually get anyone shit over?

Big Vic 11-09-2017 08:10 AM

TBF, Axel would have never been IC champ if it wasn't for Heyman.

Cornette is so under-appreciated on here. People vote with their hearts and not their minds though.

Well he wouldn't have been IC Champ if it wasn't for that push. I'll agree with you there. Was that push entirely conditional on Heyman? He should probably thank The Rock too.

Sepholio 11-09-2017 08:20 AM

TBH Heyman promos are my favorite thing about WWE for like the last 5 years. I literally care more about a mouthpiece than the performers.

Nah they gave him both heyman and the belt to help him get over. Neither worked

And Fandango for getting concussed.

Mr. Nerfect 11-09-2017 08:43 AM

That too.

hb2k 11-09-2017 03:00 PM

An interesting follow-up to this would be a Greatest Promo tournament.

#1-norm-fan 11-09-2017 04:50 PM

I've got a few lined up. Wasn't gonna do a flat out "Greatest Wrestler" tournament since we've already got the Better Wrestler thing and for those debates to happen. Greatest promo would be interesting though.

#1-norm-fan 11-09-2017 04:51 PM

This was definitely the one to get out of the way first though. Can't think of any other "Greatest..." that would be this cut and dry and anticlimactic.

Blue Demon 11-09-2017 05:03 PM

Heenan....and Bearer. Heenan is the greatest of all time. Bearer was a supporting character to one of my favourite gimmicks....and they were a pretty much perfect fit for each other.

Mr. Nerfect 11-09-2017 05:41 PM

Miz would get way too high in the greatest promo tournament. I say do it.

Indeed. The wrestling forum posters (myself included, FTR) seem to be quite the tough bunch to please when it comes to any kind of threads involving voting. You can please some of the people all the time, and vice-versa, but it's exceedingly difficult to please everyone all the time.

He'd nonetheless probably be forced out pretty easily against the likes of a Jericho/Rock/Austin match-up though.

Greatest Mullet please

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-12-2017 06:38 AM

greatest mullet would easily be the best tourney.

Maluco 11-12-2017 03:11 PM

I 3rd greatest mullet as the next choice, for the nominations thread alone

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-12-2017 03:19 PM

MULLET-MANIA!

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-12-2017 03:20 PM

MULLET-CLUB!

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-12-2017 03:40 PM

3rd best mullet of 1987

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-15-2017 04:04 AM

tom zenk?

hb2k 11-15-2017 04:24 AM

Dan Spivey has a chance of winning that tournament. It's a really shady mullet, the type that belongs on a guy you'd read about in the news.

Bad News Gertner 11-15-2017 07:56 AM

A Mullett with bangs

DaveWadding 11-16-2017 01:27 AM

Nah, Shawn Michaels' mullet from the Royal Rumble 95 is by far the winner of that tournament.

#1-norm-fan 11-16-2017 01:34 AM

Personally, I'm a fan of the Nasty Boys mullets. It's like a swerve mullet. Short on top... then no hair at all on the sides to make you think that's the end of the story... and then BAM! Party in the back.

Sixx 11-17-2017 01:25 AM

Hogan takes it the whole level. Not short hair on top but no hair at all!

Sixx 11-17-2017 01:26 AM

Sixx 11-17-2017 01:27 AM

It's a skullet!

#1-norm-fan 11-17-2017 01:54 AM

Skullet. Not a mullet. DQed.

hb2k 11-17-2017 03:51 AM

At it's worst, Beefcake's mullet was sublime. Always thought it was the sweet irony of the Barber gimmick.

https://whatistheexcel.com/wooobooru...ania%20wwf.png

I'd also like to nominate an underrated shady mullet - Barry Horowitz:

https://wrestlerdeaths.com/wp-conten...sh-gimmick.jpg

And finally, the one that may run away with the Undisputed title, Kona Crush:

Mike Awesome also had a sweet one. Pretty much only thing I remember him for.

Barely recognized him after he cut his hair.

And of course I mean Hardy Boys the detectives, because obviously this dude has a detective face and could blend in ANYWHERE.

Tatanka throwing his name into the ring

http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/im...542&h=360&q=75

hb2k 11-17-2017 05:00 PM

What I love about Tatanka's audacious 2006 mullet is that it looks as if they actually photoshopped the back on.

Lock Jaw 11-17-2017 05:07 PM

I hope all this has given #1-wwf-fan enough time and inspiration to decide on his next tournament.

If not, I'll give him some more time to mull it over.

The youngest of the Hardy brothers.

Is that a real person, or did someone Photoshop Tony Chimel into someone impersonating Mr. Perfect?

Sixx 11-18-2017 12:03 PM

Oh, he's real. And he's gonna get you.
