Triple A 04-22-2018 05:43 AM

the 50th time he said "spoiler alert" became unbearable and ruined the video imo

RP 04-22-2018 01:32 PM

I'm still not sure what happened in the first season.

Danny Electric 04-23-2018 07:33 PM

So what did people think of season 2 episode 1 , sets up the season perfectly for me and makes sense of season 1 was just a prequel for what will be coming.

Lock Jaw 04-24-2018 12:37 AM

Just finished watching. Was ok. Bunch of storylines happening, and it looks like Bernard has at least two different timelines going on. Will continue to watch and see what happens.

I miss Young William.

Frank Drebin 04-25-2018 11:16 AM

It was fine. Seems like it'll go interesting places. Just hope it doesn't dwell on the mysteries too much like whatever is going on with the Man in Black. Ok, so he's going to follow another one of Ford's games. Where did that lead him least season?

Triple A 05-02-2018 11:13 PM

Don't like how they keep crowbarring in the catch phrase "it doesn't look like anything to me" to get a "cheap pop" from people

Blue Demon 05-06-2018 07:36 AM

Just watched the first ep, and thought it was pretty interesting. Bernard kinda bothered me the whole episode for some reason.

Yeah, this was kindof annoying.

RP 05-20-2018 06:12 PM

" This game will find me "

RP 05-20-2018 07:58 PM

I cant believe Elsie is legit

RP 05-20-2018 08:03 PM

Elsie is not real tonight.

RP 05-20-2018 08:04 PM

Every moment I watch, Elsie seems not real.

RP 05-20-2018 08:05 PM

Benard is being lead and haunted by the woman he killed... Elsie

RP 05-20-2018 08:27 PM

Elsie so dumb

RP 05-20-2018 08:31 PM

Elsie is abiout to be boom.

Seanny One Ball 05-27-2018 09:08 AM

Sort yourself out

XL 06-22-2018 05:37 PM

Anyone still watching/hyped for the finale?

Destor 06-22-2018 05:56 PM

I started this week. On ep 2. I knew the show would have to become a new show altogether after the finale in the same was tge 2nd film did. Like the 2nd film it has become something with no depth.

Destor 06-22-2018 05:58 PM

Fun on a mindless less level but not must see tv

Lock Jaw 06-22-2018 07:12 PM

Only watched the first episode of the new season still...... haven't heard any hype really for this season.... no one talking about it or so it seems.... not even in real life......

Emperor Smeat 06-22-2018 09:59 PM

Its been good but nowhere as great as Season 1 was.

Feels like having like 3-4 main stories running at the same time was a mistake and after being teased it, was really looking forward to a lot of samurai related stuff which didn't really happen.

Frank Drebin 06-25-2018 04:01 PM

Going to watch the finale. I'll echo the sentiments about season 2. It's been "fine". Def a step back from season 1. Kind of a big one too.

This exact thing has happened.

Maybe the finale will do something cool, but they've screwed the pooch this season, imo, which is why you haven't heard people talking about it like thy were during season 1.

XL 06-25-2018 04:57 PM

Yeah ratings haven’t been going in the right direction. I can see it being perceived as being “too dense”. I know I need to watch a couple of YouTube videos to make full sense of most of it and I’m a “seasoned TV viewer”.

Frank Drebin 06-25-2018 08:29 PM

I have no idea what I just watched. I think I understood half of it. Not sure if I'd say it "wasn't very good" or "pretty bad".

Really disappointed in this. Not quite "Dexter" level of disappointment but it's on the board.

Frank Drebin 06-29-2018 09:30 AM

I keep waiting for someone else to chime in, but it was so poor no one even cares to do so it seems.

Seanny One Ball 06-30-2018 08:51 AM

I'm just going to pretend Season 1 was a stand alone one off work of unparalleled genius.

Destor 06-30-2018 03:01 PM

Thought the show really got its shit together on the go home stretch. Last 3 or 4 were quality

That's probably the main reason why Season 2 felt poor by comparison.

They wrote the series first as a standalone in case HBO didn't renew due to high costs and then as a "10 seasons" series in case HBO did.

End result was Season 1 got almost the entire main narrative, world building, and robot rebellion while Season 2 had to split the focus between the fallout and building for future seasons. Even the hyped up Samurai World felt a bit flat because Season 2 was doing way too many things at once but not as cohesive as Season 1 was.

Seanny One Ball 06-30-2018 05:14 PM

I haven't even seen any of the second season yet. Waiting for the box set.

Frank Drebin 06-30-2018 06:06 PM

Best episode this season wasn't even about the main story. The Lakota Indian story was pretty fn good. The rest of this season can go kick rocks. At least they didn't kill Doaks.

Seanny One Ball 07-03-2018 12:53 PM

That's one thing I now know.

Triple A 07-16-2018 04:48 AM

Just finally finished watching season 2... There was a lot of good stuff but a lot of it was also pretty bad.

A lot of the dialog felt incredibly shitty to me, like a straight to DVD action movie or something. So many "witty one liners" that were just like "Christ..."

"Elsie" the most annoying character... Or maybe just don't like the actress, or both

Ed Harris was incredible as always though

WinterDecay 07-16-2018 08:45 AM

I am never a fan of having characters that add nothing to the story - WestWorld season 2 had a number of characters that did nothing to advance the main story - Ashley, Elsie, Sylvester and Felix could have all been removed and nothing would have been missed.

I do wish they developed the character of Coughlin more instead of devoting so much time to Samurai-World

Seanny One Ball 12-10-2018 04:36 PM

On season 2 episode 4. I'm enjoying it. There was no chance they could maintain the tempo of twists that the first season had but they have done very well so far with pushing numerous storyline threads at once. Thandie and Evan are still great and the William storyline now has Peter Mullan - for my money Scotland's best film maker and one of our finest actors.

So far it had been lacking in Ed Harris and James Marsden has been cut down to a sidekick role which is frustrating but hopefully he gets more to do soon.

Seanny One Ball 12-10-2018 04:43 PM

Jeffrey Wright just keeps getting better as an actor. He has a tangible quality of emotional fragility that must be draining to perform.

Seanny One Ball 12-10-2018 05:08 PM

Jesus. Peter Mullan got given a phenomenal part in this. Heartbreaking.

Seanny One Ball 12-10-2018 06:10 PM

Episode four was a real highlight. Episode five is easily the least interesting episode in the whole show.
Turning Japanese wasn't a good idea. Thandie Newton speaking Japanese while dressed in period costume is hard going.

They're asking too much of me after such a great fourth episode.

William's daughter was given some of the worst dialogue I've ever heard.

You can't sympathise with that. Even if they had gotten a great actress in you'd never buy it.

Most of that "Elsie" character's dialogue was shit too.

Seanny One Ball 12-11-2018 04:32 PM

Good season. It suffered from two boring, incongruous episodes but the other eight were either good or great. Episode four and eight were very, very cool and easily up to the standards of season one but they added far too many unnecessary storylines into it at the expense of characters like Teddy who gets very little to do besides tag along.
SPOILER: show
I also did not like Emily. Elsie at least served a purpose, Emily was just wasted screen time. That whole angle was. It adds nothing to the character of William and actually creates a sympathy out of nowhere. Had they left the wife thing vague then we would assume William was to blame whereas what we saw just shows serious signs of mental instability and substance abuse on his wife's part. They outright say he's a decent man in the real world.
I suppose it's back to this season's emphasis on reality and free will.

Oh and I thought the time-shift gimmick was confusing as hell at first but I really enjoyed how much Bernard we were given. Glad to see lots of familiar faces back, more than I assumed.

Destor 07-11-2020 12:49 AM

Watching the s3 finale. I truly hope there isnt a s4. I dont think I'll watch if there is.

Triple A 07-11-2020 01:05 AM

Season felt brutal to get through... Felt like giving up after almost every episode but eventually felt a compulsion to finish it... So hard to watch though... Didn't care at all about anyone or anything that was happening
