Lio Rush has NUCLEAR HEAT and is in the DOGHOUSE per Sean Ross Sapp @ Fightful.

It stems from Lio apparently being a dick backstage to lots of people and bringing his wife everywhere w/ him, like she needed to be in his sight "at all times" or something. I guess Finn, who does seem to be genuinely patient and nice (I mean the guy was friends w/ Enzo) tried to give him some advice and let him know 'the boys' felt it was unprofessional to have her at things like rehearsals since this work and something happened that really pissed WWE off. Apparently there was some other incident backstage with someone where management felt the need to step in as well.


Sean Ross Sapp speculates Lio might not be on RAW again depending on how everything pans out.

Probably going to end up like Big Cass and TJP where he gets cut soon regardless of still being very useful for the indies just because he keeps causing issues backstage.

With Cass, it was the one-two punch of him and Enzo being despised backstage and not following directions. With TJP, supposedly he acted like a creep backstage at times.

I heard w/ Cass too there was something similar w/ DBry trying to help him out and offer some advice and Cass then bitching to management about what a terrible worker DBry was.

He kept pitching a reality show for him and his wife and it wasn't viewed so much as 'trying to grab a brass ring' but came across, consistently, as 'why would you give a show to Miz/Maryse/The Bellas/The cast of TD when you have me, and I'm so much better than all of them combined'.

Pretty much an Enzo-like situation except swap out reality show with musical career in terms of bragging about being better than everyone. He had similar attitude issues in the indies which is why it was a bit surprising WWE still went ahead in signing him to a deal.

Feel a bit bad for his wife since going by Fightful's report, seems she's just being dragged into this whole mess and doesn't have any real heat of her own backstage.

I don't see them doing big cass with him, he is too good on the mic and wrestling, he will ether go to nxt or sat out with harper.

Lio Rush can do some cool stuff, but WWE is overflowing with small guys who can do cool stuff. Rush is disposable.

For some reference, Lio stated his current pay isn't enough to properly support his family due to the amount being eaten away from travel expenses and unpaid merch fees. Supposedly WWE offered him a new deal worth $300k but he turned it down and asked for $600k to cover his financial concerns and also partially due to ego reasons.

That second bit is a bit worrisome since that now a possible trend with him in WWE. First was Kevin Owens having to explain to Vince the racial undertones of calling a black guy a "handler" when used as an insult by a white guy.

Has this bastard playing the race card realize Miz had to do the same thing?

How about he goes bags groceries and see if that pays better than Vince.

PWInsider reported Lio was offered a 300K 5 year contract. Not sure if that's 300k per year or over 5 years.


Mark Henry was on Busted Open Radio and called Lio a liar earlier today. He said if Lio is broke he needs to adjust his spending habits.

PWInsider also reported Lio was getting heat bc Drave Maverick and AOP gladly gave out water bottles and Lio was the one who refused and when someone (not Balor) tried to talk him about it he said "Vince is boss, Not You" and told them to fuck off or something. PWInsider also reported he kept letting his wife into the women's locker room to change clothes with the female wrestlers and that he brought a bunch of friends backstage but never got them visitor passes or let anyone know so one of WWE's most respected security guards, who is female, asked who they were and if they had visitor passes and one them started screaming vulgarities at her and management had to intervene.

What a dumbass.

Probably per year type deal since if it was $300k total, that's probably in the range of what his current deal is based on typical NXT contracts these days.

Also wouldn't be surprised if he's a lot closer to being broke than financially sound since $600k per year to be financially comfortable would put him near upper tier talent pay.

I feel mixed on this. One thing I do know is that the fact WWE doesn't provide transportation and lodging for it's superstars in absurd to me. They have nothing but greed in mind... They could take one year of Saudi blood money and put it towards health insurance, stipends and accommodations for years!

If you are Leo Rush you didn't get to WWE by having a lame personality. He's cocky, he should be, he's a WWE superstar and see's value in himself. I wouldn't want to follow the old school WWE locker room rules either, especially if I was a black man. I don't see any problem with rebelling against an outdated and disrespectful tradition. WWE locker room is pathetic.

300k plus paying for at least one flight a week and at least 3 hotels adds up big time. Why should you be forced to sleep in the same room as another person? People deserve space. I wouldn't want to wake up and smell Braun Strowmans morning shit or have to watch EC3 pop back pimples in the mirror. I support Leo Rush, even if he is annoying, I appreciate him standing up for himself.

I agree w/ all on hazing traditions being dumb and outdated. And I agree w/ @Jordan X on the travel. The least WWE could do is pay people's gas for miles driven, like countess companies do when traveling for work. And collectively WWE would be able to garner great rates w/ hotel chains so they could afford to book their talent's hotel rooms too. And absolutely on health care for talent.


I don't have a problem w/ Lio being a cocky character but it sounds like he isn't a humble person, at all, backstage and doesn't follow protocol/common sense a lot. For those things I think he should endure some type of punishment, as you would at any job. Put him on a performance plan w/ a 90 day review.

Haven't liked the guy since I seen the spot he no sold the power bomb off the ladder but he was growing on me a bit while paired with Lashley. Mike Johnson of PWInsider mentioned on his Facebook that KUSHIDA was helping set up WWE rings for NXT via being new to WWE and needing to earn his stripes/respect from the roster.
