Pitch a Revolutionary New PPV Idea
 

Give me something that has either never been done before or something that is a new twist on an old idea.

Now, I'm not saying the idea has to be something you think the general public would like, just something you think would be interesting.

My idea would almost certainly be a box-office failure. It'd be the Wrestling Olympics in which matches would be decided by a panel of judges. Decisions would be based on technical skill, presentation, strength, etc.

Between tournament matches there'd be side-contests like "feats of strength", ring diving, etc.

Then, the night of the super-serious event we'd see scandal after scandal, cheating, bribery and a brawl during the Medal Ceremony. In kayfabe the event would be booked as a complete disaster due to the various scandals that take place throughout the night. However, it would be used as a feud generator and character building moment for most of the wrestlers.

New =/= Good

Gay only PPV featuring Darren Young vs Orlando Jordan along with the in ring return of Shawn Michaels vs Braun Stroman (what a surprise!)

if it's a gay only ppv, Vince has to commentate Shawn's match as though it's April 1996. Anyone who recalls Vince's commentary at the time will understand the reference.

Not revolutionary, but Survivor Series needs a complete overhaul. Every match is cold, makes no sense, and totally sucks.

Winning team moves into a 4-man tournament
Winner of the tournament faces their brand’s champion at Royal Rumble

Toss is some title defenses and it could be a fun format

Idk just make the PPV mean something. It’s been outdated since the early 2000s

Is the wheel fine though? It looks wobbly.

Wheel is fine the spokes are replaced.

Have every match be simmed by 2k19 but the results are considered cannon. The computer AI might book better than the jabronies.

A well booked, exciting card with finishes that are logical, and mostly satisfying to the paying audience. The unsatisfying finishes should set the stage for the next event. :shifty:

Survivor Series becomes a 20 man match where every 3 minutes someone gets voted out the ring

A PPV where all matches are contested under ONE OUT OF TWO FALLS RULES

WWE/New Japan Super Show

Reverse Battle Royal.

Everyone starts outside of the ring and you eliminate guys by tossing them inside the ring.

NXT vs Impact Wrestling

More realistic, WWE vs NXT.

WWE vs UFC

UFC would have to pay out the ass like a Alabama does to play football against poor South Western North Carolina State to whip their ass. (I hope that's not a real school)

Some of the top indie promotions around the world send like 3-4 representatives to agreed upon location to create a great card culminating to a battle royale style match.

Last man standing gets bragging rights for their promotion for being the "Best in the World".

Same. Have it in March and run it alongside NCAA. Huge Bracket. March Madness. 64 wrestlers. Winner gets a huge trophy, $1 million dollars and pay-per-view title match at the PPV after Wrestlemania.

You could even hold a "Perfect Bracket" $1 million contest a la March Madness.

3 Ring Battle Royal in a triple decker cage.

Such an easy way to book feuds and get people over with a tournament. Both GM's could seed everyone, guys like Strowman & Reigns as #1's in their respective sides of the bracket, and guys like Hawkins & Truth as #16's. Super easy to bring up an NXT guy (or underused main roster guy) ranked super low and have him knock off a higher seed, instant way to get him over and super easy feud to book.

Yeah I don’t know what March Madness is so the context is missing for me.

College basketball tournament in March with 64..ugh..68 teams with 1 vs 16 2 vs 15 etc the extra 4 teams are in a play in bracket

Mine's less TNA dumb since the rules don't suddenly change twice.

I forget what WCW PPV it was, but they would have random tag team pairings for matches that would lead to a later match where the winners would then fight each other in singles matches.

Not saying it would be great, but it would be something different.

Battlebowl

A perfect bracket is correctly picking every winner all the way to the final. Several legit companies will provide huge prizes (over $10 million on occasion) for any person who can correctly fill out an entire bracket. They do this because it is damn near impossible due to the unpredictability, as top seeds are often upset by huge underdogs and middle seeds (6,7,8,9) are often so evenly matched its a toss up as to who will win.

WWE should do that. It is one of the few things I remember about WCW prior to nWo.

TNA did alot of shit. The Dixieland Match is probably the stupidest. Had to escape a cage and then go to the top of the stage and climb a latter to then grab the championship.

So, WWE would offer up the $1m to a member of the “Universe” if they predicted every winner from every match in the tournament? Sounds really interesting.

You can’t go wrong with a tournament, it makes otherwise meaningless matches have purpose, and you can spin any number of storylines off of it.

You could even seed title holders, so that having the IC/US/Tag belts in the run up to the tournament holds more value too.
