Wolverine and the X-Men Trailer:

Though the art seems like X-Men Evolution fanart, the animation is slick and the story is interesting. I'm loving Steve Burton channeling the 90's 'Fox Kids' Wolverine (though his X-Men Legends gruff would've been cool, too). Magneto seems to be modeled after Ian's portrayal, and White Queen getting to have her cleavage is something to note for the supposed Nicktoons show. I don't know what kinetically charged playing cards are supposed to sound like when they're charging, but I'm guessing the sound effect used in Gambit's clip was meant to be throw-back to the 90's show as well. Domino, Lady Deathstrike... but no Victor Creed? Sabertooth better be on a show starring Wolverine.

Anyway... I like it.

I like it! So is this a new X-Men series? Coz that clipped made it look like an animated movie. It'd be awesome if they could make another X-Men series that had the success of the original. X-Men Evolution didn't seem to have that same effect (I enjoyed that cartoon for the record).

Yeah that's the new series. It's a really cool approach that plays with continuity in a good way...

Yeah, that trailer actually looks good... its not trying to be Japanese, its not trying to "reinvent" the characters for a younger audience...

My only complaint is the name. Frickin' Wolverine and his top billing and apparent leadership status....

I can't say I'm too keen on the voices for Xavier and Magneto, but otherwise looks like it could be quite good.

Looks like they might be including some more modern characters too, I'm sure I spotted Dust from New X-Men in there.

I gotta say I like Magneto's voice. Sounds like Ian Whatshisname. Overall looks very good. Though I have to agree with Lock Jaw about the whole "Wolverine and the X-Men" thing... why not just call it "X-Men"?

The movies were pretty much centered around him, he's getting a spin off film and he also manages to be involved in loads of comic series (his solo book, Wolverine Origins, New Avengers, whichever X-Men book he happens to be appearing in these days and whatever else he guest stars in).

I'd still say it's a stupid idea, as he's really not bigger than the X-Men in my opinion, but hey.

Nah, its just the whole "name value" thing. Though, as stated, I'm not sure why they need to tack it on since "X-Men" is a big enough name, and most people put Wolverine and the X-Men together anyways.

I'm just tired of Wolverine being everywhere.

As of right now he has two solo series, and is a part of no less than three teams (New Avengers, X-Men (Which has multiple books), and X-Force). The only logical explanation is that there are several Wolverines running about (Skrulls) and no one has noticed. They just accept the fact that he's everywhere at once.

There is Wolverine, Woolvereen, and Wolverene, but since it all sounds the same no one has noticed.

It seems despite my better efforts we have a load or Marvel threads popping up; even though we could clean up the place by posting in a thread dedicated to both Marvel and Film. Hey, I only remember alot of fuss over 'flooding' the forums... but I'm not bitter.

Who Will Assemble?:

With hints of Captain America in Iron Man and the upcoming Hulk, Marvel Films is moving ahead with their most ambitious project (Cap sets off the long awaited Avengers film). Marvel is looking for a star for the title role in "Captain America: The First Avenger". Meanwhile, they're checking out Brad Pitt to portray Thor! Will we see Edward Norton and Brad Pitt together again in Avengers? Joined by Robert Downey Jr.?!? Don't tease us Marvel...

Also, will the Spidey 4 franchise revamp join the current 'one-universe' Marvel movies? He was never a part of the classic Avengers, but I wouldn't mind at all. Hell, he was a New Avenger (Pre-Civil War) along with Wolverine. Hey, Hugh Jackman doesn't seem ready to give up the character that made his carreer. With talks of the X-Men franchise getting a reboot as well, should Logan join the new Marvel Film-verse as well?

We can only imagine.

Spidey 4... And 5:

Well the idea now is that Spidey's next adventure may be big enough to span two movies, so they may film the next two back to back (like they should have done Spidey 3 IMO). They're talking about bringing back the core cast, but I wouldn't mind a reboot; a reboot that fuses the film with the current Marvel movie universe.

What villains are left that could span two movies? Lizard? Electro? Sinister Six?

I'd through Carnage in there but after the Venom disaster I worry.

Carnage would be interesting but I don't know if it'd work. There is the rest of the symbiote bollocks they could have those running around. I'd rather them just stick to one movie and stick to one villain. Spiderman 3 was an incredible clusterfuck of a movie.

BTW, anyone been watching the Spiderman cartoon on Saturday mornings? I love it.

Has splitting a movie into two EVER worked? The last two Pirates of the Carribean and Matrix movies were terrible. Kill Bill volume 1 was terrible, with volume 2 only having a few saving points.

I agree the two matrix sequels were poor in relation to the first, but they did work. And the Pirate follow ups were pretty much the same. Not as good as the first but still good value.

I would love to see an avengers movie....it would be the most expensive film ever created though...the actors wages alone would be ridiculous.
