Would AEW put themselves between a rock and a hard place by signing Brock Lesnar?

At the end of the day, they can't bring Brock in without him destroying everyone and winning the championship. Of course, eventually, you have someone beat him. But there's no point to Lesnar if he doesn't come in and kill all your "homegrown" talent (and the other WWE jobbers that work for them), and make everyone look like chumps--which is kind of against what AEW is supposed to be.

I assume Brock'll be back in WWE, but as a hypothetical, would it actually hurt AEW in the long run to sign Brock? I imagine the initial buzz would be great, but they'd be handcuffed over the long haul.

He's hard to do programs with because he only wants a certain amount of dates. They could bring him in for a couple one offs.

I wouldn't be surprised of Brock is done with wrestling.

It would only hurt AEW if they botched his run. It can’t hurt to bring in a huge star with credibility. Especially one who has shown that he doesn’t take himself too seriously and is willing to job almost to a fault. Let him come in, beat the holy hell out of some guys, give a select few some offense just to let them look good in defeat, and then put someone over him that you’re 100% confident you want to be the face of your company.

If wrestling has taught me anything, this is always easier said than done.

Brock is going to UFC to face Jones or Miocic. Scott Cocker is also interested in him fighting Fedor on Bellator. He also could have some other bout there that are worthwhile.

But think of all the brand new interviews Moxley could give about how Brock was uninterested in having a bunch of gimmicked weapons spots in their match from 4 and a half years ago! Moxley has never even talked about that before, it would be worth signing Brock just for that :eek::eek:

In all honesty, id love Brock in AEW just refusing to sell anything and squashing everybody in the way nWo decimated WCW. It shouldn't last more than a year, and they could use it as a way to actually make the whole roster an underdog victim like they try to portray themselves as.

At the end of the year have Jericho agree to drop the Cody can't go for the World Title stipulation for the good of AEW, and have Cody defeat Brock.

They do that, guaranteed to be printing money.

I don't think anybody believes Cody beating Lesnar, come on man.

There would certainly need to be shenanigans, and Cody would need to be a bloody mess, but it would be the best choice.

Brock is going to AEW so he can take Tony's money and talk about how much better the work environment is.

Mr. Nerfect 09-02-2020 12:34 AM

Brock signs with The Rock's new promotion to launch in 2021.
