Rate the Game: Week 68

Fuck my life, I hadn't made this mistake in a while but it happened this time around. I forgot to actually click my chosen rating in the poll for last week's game. I'll be factoring that rating into the final tally as I work out the average for Dead Space. Unless you guys feel it shouldn't count then I'll be more than happy to discount it. In the meantime, we have to work with what we ended up so let's see where the average lands Dead Space. Let's see the goods!

Well the way it stands now, Dead Space swims around somewhere in the middle at the number 40 spot as it claims a 3.4 average score. We've got to keep on trucking as we kick off week 68 here on Rate the Game so let's get to tackling another title. Let's all smell what the bowl is cooking this week...

Ta-da! We're venturing into another interesting franchise here as the game to rate this week is Hitman: Codename 47, which, if I'm not mistaken, is the very first entry into the Hitman series. So how do we feel about this game, ladies and gentlemen? Are we dealing with a stealth adventure on par with Metal Gear Solid or does it stumble in its execution? Is it even better? Let's all hear what you've got to say. Rate and vote and discuss and rant and what not. Until next week!

I will forever remember the 2nd level.

From the moment you take out the limo driver in the alley while he's taking a piss, through the rest of the mission. Not knowing who can / can't see through the "disguise" was challenging. Such a fun game. Remember killing a LOT of time on this game, especially when you go back to St. Petersburg (maybe another hitman game, I dunno). You had to enter some swanky party with metal detectors, jump from balcony to balcony, etc.

Good stuff. Fuck.... makes me wonder why I never bought it on Xbox. I didn't like the episodic format, but now that it's all out.... and cheap, I should buy in.

4 - only because of some bullshit controls sometimes.

Only played hitman 2 and which ever one was on PS3

ClockShot 07-20-2021 01:20 PM

Never played.

I started at Hitman 2.

DAMN iNATOR 07-20-2021 06:27 PM

5 for me, controls be damned (no pun intended).

Lock Jaw 07-20-2021 07:23 PM

Never played it.

Sepholio 07-21-2021 11:27 AM

I never got around to playing the Hitman games, although I do feel like I may pick up the last 3 games at some point now that they are basically all merged into one platform on the new gen systems

Great game.
I give it a 4 for the game but have to bring it up to a 5 because it gave a reason for Ebeeto to make his amazing Hitman walkthrough series

Stealth-focused games have always interested me because of their deliberate choice to be so different from the majority of what's out there, which is usually fast-paced ordeals. There's something to be said about gameplay that forces you to be wiser with your decisions. Thief is probably my favorite of the pack. Haven't played enough Hitman to be an expert on the series though.

Wasn't one of the more recent Hitman games the one that had a suitcase/briefcase you could exploit as it would home in on literally everybody and kill/K.O. them until they patched it out? Don't think I ever got to experience it but I know I've seen footage of people doing that lol

M-A-G 07-25-2021 01:38 PM

It wouldn't surprise me. Isn't a staple of modern games the one OP feature that everyone uses to break the game?

DAMN iNATOR 07-25-2021 05:14 PM

I read up, guess it was in the last game, and they actually patched it but put it in as a specific weapon instead of having them all do that. Kinda neat in a way, I guess. 😕

Big Vic 07-26-2021 10:45 AM

Hitman is now in the #2 spot based on the 4 people who played it.

M-A-G 07-26-2021 12:57 PM

Where it BELONGS!!!

M-A-G 07-26-2021 12:58 PM

Nah, I'm just fucking around. :o
