Jack Johnson - To The Sea

So Jack has been a summertime favorite of mine for several years. I didn't even know he had a new album come out. Must not publicize himself being that he owns his own label I guess he doesn't feel he needs to anymore.

Anyways, I downloaded it. It is ok. Nothing will be as good as his first album (the next 2 had equally impressive songs).

This one is just about as average as his last one...if not more so.

Does not reach the heights of Hounds of Love, but still a good album.

Never much paid attention beyond hearing Starry Eyed a few times on the radio, but Ellie Goulding was AMAZING @ Glastonbury.

Good album, best song imo is Salt Skin

IMO it's "pop" and on that fact, it's nice there is good pop around, not all fucking rnb wannabes with fucking auto-tune.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes - 9 out of 10

awesome album to wake up too. in the same vein as The Shins & Fleet Foxes the unusual sounds and happy beat make this album a good listen while chillin'

The ArchAndroid - Janelle Monae

9/10...probably the freshest album of the year, in the R&B/Hip Hop/Soul category. Reminds me of when Gnarls Barkley came out.

Bret Michaels- Custom Built
8/10, very good solo album from Bret Michaels, most of the tracks are enjoyable, I enjoyed it thoroughly

Neil Young - After the Gold Rush 8/10
Cocteau Twins - Treasure 8/10

Nellie McKay - Get Away from Me 7/10

I & Love & You by The Avett Brothers - 9/10 - Really no filler. Great songs with poignant lyrics.

Pressure Eagle by Cake -10/10 - Great band and FUN live. Album good from start to finish and totally underrated.

Volume 2 by She & Him - 7/10 - Not as many catchy songs as Volume 1 but still worthy of a listen every not and again.

Animal by Ke$ha - 5/10 - I can't deny that I LOVE that Love Is My Drug song. There are some catchy numbers on this HORRIBLE pop album. Not a fan of the genre but for what it is there is a lot worse out there.

no i hate pop music in general but for her genre she isn't the worst. and yes i do get that one song stuck in my head all the time.

LCD SoundSystem - This Is Happening - 8 out of 10

solid record and good to have on while hanging out and drinking some beers. There is no "New York I Love You But Your Brining Me Down" type song but the album, as a whole, is very good and servicable.

Ray Charles - Hallelujah I Love Her So 8.5/10

Thomas Newman - American Beauty Soundtrack 6.5/10
It is great music, but it doesn't translate to album well.

B Real - Smoke and Mirrors

All around a pretty solid album. Decent Production, and his lyrics are on point. Everything you would expect from a Cypress Hill album.

I like it, but touches nothing the Pixies brought out.

Regina Spektor - Begin to Hope 8/10
This is the first I have listened to this album in 18 months (since my shit-face sister stole my original copy, and I have only just replaced it), and I have to say it is better than I remember it to be. Still doesn't touch Soviet Kitsch, but better than her most recent.

Soundgarden - Superunknown 8/10
Same as Regina on not hearing it for 18 months. Still a tasty album.

Neko Case - Middle Cyclone 7.5/10
One of my favourite vocalists, but so far this album fails to match up with "Fox Confessor brings the flood".

Röyksopp - Senior

Great album, out next month.

Have to admit, I'm very happy they decided to do this style of album. Although I fucking think their "normal" stuff is amazing, it's nice to hear them touch their roots and elaborate on some of their amazing and more ambient instrumentals.

I highly recommend this.
