Meltzer only stated that it was a rumor going around backstage that a second wave was going to happen and possibly yesterday.

Usually whenever WWE does releases, its either in multiple waves close together or its one big wave with some trickling afterwards and NXT rarely being spared.

Last year's mass release took several days to a week to finish.


He still has sources but way less from the wrestlers side since they've mostly went to Fightful during the past couple years. Fightful even took over the late Casey Michael's role as being the go to outlet for wrestlers in NXT.

WWE thought they had a checkmate over the dirtsheets when they allowed talent to feud with Meltzer on Twitter without realizing the rest would just move on to other sheets outlets to leak news since Fightful and others were not on their blacklist.

According to Triple H, that person got fired for recently "disrespecting" Mickie James when the real reason was more likely due to WWE trying to save some face from the online backlash after Mickie revealed her "care package" from WWE arrived today, which was just all of her stuff in a garbage bag with a sticker of her name. Her tweet managed to be a top trend on Twitter.

Maria Kanellis revealed the same was done to her stuff after she was released from WWE.

Edit: CM Punk threw a bit of shade at Triple H over WWE firing someone for giving disrespectful treatment to a released WWE talent.

Seems its more about how little effort or care WWE gave towards sending someone their stuff back especially for someone with a beloved status like Mickie.

Plus the issue got fueled by a recent tweet and some comments made by Mickie over how her end in the company played out in a less than cordial way.

If it wasn't for Mickie's tweet blowing up on Twitter, WWE probably wouldn't have cared nor offered a public apology over the poor treatment she was given after her release.

Turns out there was a second wave of releases after all like Meltzer initially reported was rumored to be happening. He ended up being off on where it would happen since it wasn't NXT who got affected but instead WWE's office staff.


Edit: Also turns out it wasn't some no-name low level employee who got fired over the recent Mickie James garbage bag controversy and instead was WWE's former Head of Talent Relations who got fired for it according to WrestlingInc.
