Just because they are making a ton of money doesn't mean they need to keep everyone under contract forever. Morals have nothing to do with it, that's just business.

Damn, Gertner beat me to it while I was typing that post....

your job isnt a charity. get over or go somewhere else

Crazy to think less than 2 years ago Keith Lee got some shine from Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in back to back Big 4 PPVs
|
KEITH LEE is an absolute megastar waiting for his moment. Everyone needs to look the fuck out.
|
Granted I did not see too much of him, but I did not see star potential... certainly not MEGAstar potential...
|
Honestly, Keith Lee reminds me of Brodus Clay

Also as I have said before, it's damned if you do damned if you don't for WWE with some people. If he keeps people and doesn't use them then Vince is an evil bastard who is holding talent back just so he can hoard them and keep them from going elsewhere. The instant he does release them the exact same people are like "RAAAAWWRRRR that monster, Vince McMahon!". It's absolutely ridiculous. |
Keith being released def surprised me though. Nia too. Ember Moon also a little surprising although tbh I haven't watched much of her stuff since she came back from the really nasty injury she had and went back to NXT.

I’m also all for simply letting contracts expire. “Thanks for your service, we’ve decided not to renew. Best of luck to you”. Easy. No problem with that. The company and talent honored their end of the deal. Firing is something a company only needs to when there is a need to tighten the belts. The company is churning in ungodly money, so budget cuts doesn’t fly. |
They literally just gave one of the talents a new contract a week ago. So you wanted to keep her for multiple years last week and now, nah?
It’s stupid and a bad look. |
Who did they give a new contract?
|
Also, you should be able to fire someone before their contract ends if they aren't performing like you want. You shouldn't have to pay out the rest of their contract just because you can afford it.

5 of my guesses were correct:

Surprised Dana Brooke, Tamina, Jaxson Ryker survived

Would like to see Keith Lee rassle Bryan Danielson, Miro, Adam Page, etc
Prayer Circle to keep Nia Jax away, far away, from AEW... |

My take on Nick Khan's WWE is:
You won't see things like Mandy or Austin Theory get re-sent to NXT for further development (in Austin's case this was a great thing, his current character is good, early Randy Orton vibes IMO). If they don't click the way WWE wants them to WWE might fidget with them a little but then just 'cut their losses' We'll probably see more and more callups from NXT 2.0 as time goes on. This means more main roster talent will be cleared out for the 'freshening' of the main roster. I don't think people will stay in NXT as long as the past, at all. Nick Kahn probably looks at main event talent as 'have they peaked for what we will use them for' and 'how expensive are they if they've peaked' ala Braun/Bray/Nia. I think Nick Khan is interested in who they can build the company on for the next 5-10 years. You have to keep around the older names people know like Edge, Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, etc, but you cannot build the company around them. Roman's time as 'the guy' will be over in a year or two. It's just time. Hogan, Austin/Rock, Cena, etc. No one goes a full decade as 'the guy'. His push started at WM31 as 'the guy'. It's got another year or two left, they have to figure out who the next face of WWE will be then. Outside of Ronda, Brock being Brock, Austin a shoe-in for a WM role, Rock likely for a WM role the year after that, WWE doesn't have anymore rabbits to pull out of the magic hat for surprise returns. Edge was the bottom of the hat. They HAVE TO make new stars/freshen things up. |

On the flip side of my take on Nick Khan's WWE, these tweets are also very accurate, as it once again teaches fans not to bother investing in new characters.

WWE is a business, and as a business they can do what they want, but they're also putting out episodic television. As a fan it's difficult to get invested in storylines and/or characters when they'll just cut motherfucker's at a moments notice.

This isn't Game of Thrones. pic.twitter.com/oym2G8T8wR
— Dicki Bella (@DickVanKlondike) November 4, 2021

This is my issue w/ WWE... I say Nick Kahn's WWE too because there's talk Vince is in decline. Some people say he doesn't remember what happened the previous week on TV sometimes.
No one can defeat Time. It makes sense. Vince rarely speaks at the quarterly conference calls, spoke 1 sentence when fans were brought back this year, had that BIZARRE rambling speech on HHH appreciation night a year or two ago. Nick Khan is probably the most powerful person in WWE history whose not part of the McMahon family. |
Allllllllso, the office cuts this week were said to be people who were Stephanie's people/in her inner circle.
Steph has to be rather stressed these days with Vince...aging, HHH...recovering and Nick Khan gaining power. |

4 were reportedly released due to being unvaxxed. Or thar it played a big role in it. Nia Jax being one.
|
This round was pretty much WWE admitting that they'd made some mistakes with guys like Kross and Lee. As a fan of everything but WWE, I've grown to love these mass releases.
|
You should've grown to love washing your feet and ass by now.
|
I wash my feet unlike most of you. You guys have fallen in love with my ass though.

In this case, it’s better that Lee and Kross got let go. They can do well/be used far better elsewhere and still make a good living. It’s a good time to get released, tbh. Lee especially. This is potentially a huge blessing for him. Not to mention he’s prob gonna make a killing in t shirt sales once he can. |
Yeah that’s a massive over simplification by Destor. Harry Smith? Hasn’t even been on TV. No opportunity to get over. We all know the deal with Lee, Yim, Kross, Scarlett, given shit to work with.

Well, it's nice to see that that massive Samoan circus snatch Nia Jax has now been told to fuck off.....it's what the raging cunt gets for hurting other wrestlers. Piss on her.
As for the others, meh....it is what it is. =P |
These all sound like pretty sensible cuts. WWE are monsters if they hire everybody, but they are also monsters if they dare fire anyone they aren’t using or don’t want to use anymore. It’s crazy how quickly people got used to WWE never releasing anyone (even though they should have), and now act like it’s some crazy thing when what is essentially a talent search program cuts people.
I think talent should be able to get out of their deals too, for the record. But acting like WWE are villains in this is a bit much. They gave this talent chances (in their own world) and they didn’t live up to it. Also, just because your profit margin is huge doesn’t mean you don’t have a budget. I hear Alvarez get on them for that every time this sort of things happen. If you want to cap your talent expenses at a certain amount, that is entirely your prerogative. It’s got nothing to do with your profit margin (other than you being able to afford it). |
Samoan Circus Snatch. Ahahahahahahaha.
|
Karrion Kross is just typical WWE. He's over in NXT, moves onto the main roster with no direction, then gets let go for not getting over.
