Jiro will team with August Grey in what should be a spirited tag team bout against self-proclaimed 205 Live OGs Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari, who have made no bones about their disdain for fresh-faced Cruiserweights.

The Persian Lion has taken a particular interest in The Life of the Party in recent weeks, seemingly attempting to corrupt him ever since Grey broke the rules by using the ropes for leverage to claim a win against Daivari. Since then, Daivari has done everything in his power to convince Grey to take shortcuts on a more routine basis.

Grey, however, has stayed true to himself, and he’s set to join forces with Jiro, a wildly eccentric competitor known for his fun-loving, flashy personality.

Sterling is set for a one-on-one clash with 205 Live pillar and former 24/7 Champion Samir Singh.

He might be new to the purple brand, but Sterling is anything but a rookie in the sports-entertainment landscape; the newcomer made a name for himself on the independent scene with his jaw-dropping arsenal of aerial attacks that must be seen to be believed.

Will Jiro and/or Sterling come away with a victory in their first appearance on the purple brand? Find out by tuning in to 205 Live, streaming Friday at 10/9 C on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else!

oh you starting a new one for may wish they could get the rock to do an interview

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 08:09 PM

:n: at WWE not bringing back the Giant Fist or doing any throwback style treatment for the stage for tonight's show.

erickman 05-07-2021 08:11 PM

like the suits though, was that what cole wore in the 90's

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 08:12 PM

 at Paul Heyman's rendition of the 10-bell salute to Daniel Bryan's career.

erickman 05-07-2021 08:14 PM

tag match time

damn teddy you were suposed to give us a tag match

Think he wore mainly just a regular shirt or collared one back in the day.

Edit: Ended up misremembering what he wore back in the day. He did often wear a buttoned up shirt back then.

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 08:17 PM

:D Teddy Long.

 at Long not making a random tag match with his big announcement.

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 08:36 PM

Cesaro vs. Rollins was very good despite the shenanigans at the end.

Guess Reigns is feuding with Rollins next since one of the Usos attacked him during the match. Poor Jimmy, first day as part of the Reigns family and he's probably getting kicked out soon via his dumbness.

erickman 05-07-2021 08:42 PM

theres our tag team

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 08:44 PM

Austin vs. Booker T supermarket brawl is still one of my favorite all-time moments from SD.

WWE's done a way better effort when it comes to doing throwback-like shows for RAW than what SD's throwback show has been so far.

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 08:54 PM

SD's women's division managed to somehow turn into piss break tier these past couple months.

The Natty, Tamina, Nia, & Shayna streak in recent weeks finally got snapped and the reward was a nothing Carmella vs. Ruby match.

Evil Vito 05-07-2021 09:00 PM

Lol an 80s themes throwback show when SmackDown started in 1999

This company is so lazy

erickman 05-07-2021 09:03 PM

the carmella ruby match was stemboat vs flair compared to the nia crap

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 09:04 PM

Going to assume Mickie James not being included in that roll call of past WWE Women's champs by Bayley was just WWE being petty again.

Yeah the way they've handled the "throwback" aspect of tonight's show has been all over the place and half-assed.

erickman 05-07-2021 09:08 PM

i wish the wrestlers would dress old school that would have been cool

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 09:19 PM

Dominik vs. Ziggy somehow managed to be worse than Carmella vs. Ruby in terms of being a big waste of time for a match.

Yeah. At the very least, they should have done a bunch of promo segments in the classic split-screen or mini-box style like back in the day.

erickman 05-07-2021 09:19 PM

crap time of the show

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 09:23 PM

:| Reginald vs. Tamina next.

xrodmuc316 05-07-2021 09:54 PM

Roman is the best!

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2021 10:02 PM

Reigns & Usos promo and Cesaro wrecking them all afterwards was great.

This week's "throwback" show was somewhere in between average and pretty good. Probably the weakest throwback style show WWE has ever done in terms of effort but at the same time it did avoid the big problem where the Legends and former wrestlers just overshadow the current guys.

Only stuff really worth watching was the Ceasro vs. Rollins match and the ending stuff with Reigns since the throwback videos are stuff you can easily find elsewhere.

Triple A 05-07-2021 10:49 PM

They should have played this theme for the intro....... (assuming they didn't)... the best SmackDown theme by far

According to Ringside News and later confirmed by the Observer, Triple H's has been getting more hands-on with SmackDown in recent weeks.

Him and NXT lead writer Dave Kapoor played a big role in the production of last week's Throwback show since Bruce Prichard is currently on vacation and SD's lead writer wasn't around backstage.

In a potentially volatile clash, Hale will debut on the purple brand against the self-proclaimed “205 Live OG.”

If his past actions are any indication, Daivari Dinero is certain to hold the newcomer in contempt, as he and Nese have joined forces over the last several months with the main purpose of making life as difficult as possible for rookies.

Hale has been competing on the independent scene for several years, but he’s ready to take on the best Cruiserweights in the world and is looking to call 205 Live his new home.

Speaking of newcomers, Sterling dazzled the WWE Universe during his debut match against Samir Singh last week, blitzing the former 24/7 Champion with a dizzying arsenal and taking to the skies on several occasions to earn the win.

Sterling has every intention of going 2-0 on the purple brand, but to accomplish his goal, he’ll have to knock off a decorated veteran and former Cruiserweight Champion in Nese, who dislikes rookies every bit as much as his partner does.

Don’t miss an amazing edition of 205 Live, streaming Friday at 10/9 C on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else!

"The upstart Cesaro"

WTF is Michael Cole smoking

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2021 08:17 PM

So Jimmy Uso wants the Usos to not be in Reigns group because of Reigns but at the same time wants to be the ones in charge of a group with Reigns in it?

erickman 05-14-2021 08:33 PM

is this the end of the nia beast

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2021 08:36 PM

 at Nia & Shayna losing the tag titles because Nia's a dumbass.

Kept trying to fight off Tamina from doing the Superfly Splash but then decided for some dumb reason to go after Natty instead and hit a Samoan Drop right next to where Tamina was. Left herself wide open to get splashed and pinned.

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2021 08:44 PM

 at Commander Azeez forgetting the que to get his medal from Apollo Crews.

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2021 08:48 PM

That "medal award" ceremony was all over the place in terms of quality.

Like WWE just cramming a bunch of people and stuff into a single segment and ended up being disorganized as a result.

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2021 09:08 PM

Ziggy vs. Rey Mysterio was pretty good.

 at back-to-back matches tonight where the heel side lost because they had a brain fart moment happen. This time it was Ziggy yaking with the ref instead of being focused on Rey and leaving himself wide open to get the surprise roll-up treatment.

erickman 05-14-2021 09:30 PM

so is it time for another king of the ring

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2021 09:31 PM

This crowning moment by Nakamura with Corbin's crown would have been way cooler had he not just lost to Corbin moments earlier.

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2021 09:34 PM

Bit surprised the IC title isn't being defended at Mania Backlash since the stuff from earlier tonight had all of the making of WWE usual booking setup for a last minute addition to a PPV card.

erickman 05-14-2021 09:40 PM

i am more hyped for the impact thing tomorow then backlash

Emperor Smeat 05-14-2021 10:02 PM

Jimmy Uso vs. Cesaro was pretty good despite the DQ finish.

Whelp can scratch off Cesaro's name from the potential winners list at Mania Backlash since he just got hit with the WWE PPV go-home curse the moment he managed to beat up Reigns and both Usos almost with ease to close out the show.

This week's Mania Backlash go-home show was enjoyable and a way better effort than what RAW did earlier this week.

In fact, when the duo defeated Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari in Jiro’s debut match, the eccentric newcomer never removed his flashy yellow jacket, and he and The Life of the Party left the WWE Universe clamoring for more.

On Friday, they’ll attempt to go 2-0 as a unit on the purple brand when they take on The Bollywood Boyz, seasoned veterans of 205 Live and former 24/7 Champions.

Additionally, two other 205 Live rookies will take centerstage when the highflying Sterling collides with the rebellious Hale.

Sterling claimed an eye-opening win in his debut match on the purple brand when he took down Samir Singh before being bested by Nese in last week’s barnburner.

Primed for his second match on 205 Live, Hale is looking for another victory after defeating Daivari with a surprise rollup.

 at Sami's expression for this week's show preview image. Like The 40 Year Old Virgin film poster type vibes.

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 08:05 PM

This is one very cringey opening to a WWE show and possible of all-time in WWE history.

WWE somehow managed to find a very lame way to hold a "Parade of Champs" moment and big announcement of fans returning to shows.

Thank goodness Paul Heyman & Bayley salvaged it a bit in the end.

erickman 05-21-2021 08:11 PM

ug the return of the nia beast

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 08:26 PM

6-Woman tag match was mostly decent.

Natty & Tamina about to learn quickly why being a champ in WWE is usually a bad thing since that submission loss is just the first of many they likely are going to have as Women's Tag champs.

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 08:36 PM

Guess Aleister Black is now a demon I think based on that new vignette.

erickman 05-21-2021 08:40 PM

wow was that the old spice dude

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 08:41 PM

Rik Bugez got another name change in WWE. Now he's known as Rick Boogs.

Him playing a guitar solo of Nakamura's theme was cool.

 at McAfee and Cole trying to rock out to Bugez's rendition of Nakamura's theme though.

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 08:49 PM

 at Namakura needing a distraction from Boogs just to be able to beat Corbin.

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 09:07 PM

Rollins not a fan of Cesaro asking for another Universal title shot.

Add him to the list of people who should visit Dr. Shelby soon to sort out his anger issues.

Going to assume Cesaro owes Rollins money since he got the crap beaten out of him again.

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 09:13 PM

Whelp Rollins went off the deep end. Not even Dr. Shelby can fix him.

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 09:27 PM

Angelo Dawkins not fond of Luigi from the Super Mario Bros based on that shade or diss he did during the Street Profits promoo.

#1-norm-fan 05-21-2021 09:52 PM

Sami Zayn not looking at the camera in that graphic is the best thing I’ve seen from WWE in a while.

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 09:56 PM

Yikes at Owens getting spiked on his neck from Zayn's half nelson suplex.

Emperor Smeat 05-21-2021 09:59 PM

Aleister Black now has Fiend-like powers although at least his looks cooler than Bray and Bliss' spooky powers.

IC title 4-way title match was very good until it went to an abrupt halt via Black's spooky shenanigans.

This week's show was pretty entertaining overall.

Asher Hale to battle Tony Nese

Asher Hale, who recently accomplished his goal of making it to WWE after a 14-year trek, has turned some heads early in his purple brand tenure. Following an extremely intense battle against Ari Sterling last week, in which he came up just short, the rebellious Superstar has an opportunity get back in the win column with a one-on-one matchup against Tony Nese.

Never one to hide his disdain for rookies, Nese seems certain to be in a foul mood when he locks horns with the exciting Hale. Will Hale be able to overcome the events of last week or will The Premier Athlete come away with the win.

Ari Sterling to take on Ariya Daivari

Ari Sterling is still getting acclimated to being a member of the WWE 205 Live roster. Although he defeated Asher Hale last week, the week before that Sterling came up short against 205 Live OG Tony Nese. Now Sterling has another opportunity with an OG in Ariya Daivari.

In a clash of styles, Daivari’s ground and pound offense will go head-to-head against The Sauce’s aerial assault. The Persian Lion, who has endured a recent losing streak, has yet to meet a fresh face that he didn’t despise, and that trend seems likely to continue when he collides with Sterling.

Emperor Smeat 05-28-2021 08:16 PM

Luigi's streak of his name being uttered during a WWE show lives on.

If things continue, only a matter of time before people will be saying someone is the "Luigi" of a tag team instead of being the "Jannety."

Emperor Smeat 05-28-2021 08:34 PM

Been noticing that Pat McAfee has the same habit Mauro Ranallo used to have when it came to calling NXT shows.

While someone like Cole is always sitting during matches and is more mellow in his movements, McAfee is a lot more energetic and likes to hop out of his seat a lot whenever he sees something interesting happens in the ring.

Like a good part of this Usos vs. Street Profits match is just him standing and swaying around while he calls some of the action.

Emperor Smeat 05-28-2021 08:36 PM

Holy shit at that leap Montez Ford did over the ring post.

Emperor Smeat 05-28-2021 08:40 PM

Usos vs. Street Profits was very good, especially the latter half of it. Probably could have been a few minutes shorter since it had to deal with 2 commercial break interruptions.

Emperor Smeat 05-28-2021 08:45 PM

Guess WWE finally remembered Smackdown's women's tag division is more than just Natty & Tamina and Nia & Shayna.

First time Riott Squad is wrestling as a team since Mania 37 and first time on SD since late February according to Cagematch.com

Emperor Smeat 05-28-2021 08:50 PM

Holy shit at Ruby's neck landing hard on the bottom rope.

Not sure if Tamia gave a little extra on that whack to her back or Ruby just overshot the sell.

Also the tag match was meh but at least it was something new for the Women's tag division.

Emperor Smeat 05-28-2021 09:06 PM

 Cole calling Bianca "Belanca"

Almost choked on my drink when he said that outta nowhere. Even got Bayley to crack on commentary when he said it.

Papa Shango must have put a recent curse on Bianca's matches since Cole has botched the ending calls way too much recently.

Emperor Smeat 05-28-2021 09:28 PM

:| IC title match ends via DQ.

Was wondering when WWE was going to bust out their trademark "disappointing finish to a match that was actually getting interesting" routine.

Tonight's show has been somewhat downhill ever since the Usos vs. Street Profits match.

screech 05-29-2021 12:49 PM

My kid just shit his pants. I hope that's not an omen for this match

screech 05-29-2021 12:57 PM

McAfee is really good on commentary

screech 05-29-2021 01:03 PM

It was not. What a match.

screech 05-29-2021 01:10 PM

Natalya really upping her cleavage game this week

screech 05-29-2021 01:11 PM

Hey the Riott Squad has a match. Nice

screech 05-29-2021 01:12 PM

I like when commentators go "they didn't get all of that move" if something didn't land perfectly. We're not dumb. We can see when a move wasn't smooth.

screech 05-29-2021 01:18 PM

Damn. Forgot the Phillies play early today.

screech 05-29-2021 01:20 PM

Like Janela, I like Carmella "as a character." Not that into her matches though.

screech 05-29-2021 01:27 PM

That match was actually pretty good.

lol Belanca

screech 05-29-2021 01:28 PM

Seth Rollins: fashion icon

screech 05-29-2021 01:33 PM

Cesaro "audio" was p dumb. Seth laughing at it was funnier

screech 05-29-2021 01:35 PM

Heel Seth is 1000 times more interesting than Face Seth

screech 05-29-2021 01:42 PM

KO time let's goooo

screech 05-29-2021 01:43 PM

When was the last time Owens hit the pop-up powerbomb?

screech 05-29-2021 01:46 PM

It'd be neat if Roman helps the Usos win the tag titles. "Our family is better than your family" or something like that. Solidify this stable

screech 05-29-2021 01:47 PM

On the other hand, I'm really enjoying this dynamic with the three of them.

screech 05-29-2021 01:48 PM

Boogs fucking shredding!

screech 05-29-2021 01:49 PM

lol McAfee rocking out while Cole is so done

screech 05-29-2021 01:50 PM

Chad Gable is so good

screech 05-29-2021 01:56 PM

Skipped to the end of the tag match. No interest in Dom

Pretty much the whole time. I am shocked.

Mr. Nerfect 05-30-2021 05:57 AM

Chad Gable is a fucking gem. Otis has got tremendous chemistry with Rey Mysterio. Would like to see them and The Usos both going after those tag straps.

erickman 06-04-2021 09:17 PM
