Maybe even Tolstoy's War and Peace. Kids today could use a little culture in their lives.

In Search of Lost Time is over 4,000 pages. That would have to break something.

VR has no future

Resident Evil 7 showed it has great potential. |
Even that's a console game tacked on to VR.
VR never had a Killer App ever. It's been hype for decades now. The recent resurgence was all based on the graphics being better than Lawnmower Man now, but that's not enough. VR games are not good. And the better ones are never native to VR. It's been over two decades; it's utility just isn't gaming. |
Jade Raymond went to EA, created her own studio, and is gone in like a couple years.
Same thing happened with Amy Hennig. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. |
VR still has some big potential in gaming but probably down to just Nintendo, Valve, and Naughty Dog to pull out the killer app for it any time soon. Those three companies have enough bright minds to really think outside the box or create the memorable experience needed for VR's "Super Mario 64" moment.
|
Why would they, tho?
|
There is no consumer demand.
|
Slender Man would make a great VR game.

Based on past history, Nintendo is more likely to make it work for controls or gameplay-wise, Valve for engine or tech-wise, and Naughty Dog for narrative or experience-wise. All depends if or when they ever get serious about VR gaming. Think Valve was rumored for a while about seriously considering making a new Half-Life game revolving around their VR tech. |
Bioware announced they will be holding an official live stream on November 1st for Anthem showing off new gameplay footage.
Also planned to be shown off is the game's character creation mode and tools. https://www.destructoid.com/bioware-...k-528167.phtml |

Companies arrogant enough to actually express this goal tend to set up their own failure. As far as being a money maker you should keep in mind that we're talking about a video headset apparatus with bleeding edge tracking tech that after 2 decades hasn't managed a single killer app despite many attempts from very smart developers and game jams. I'd dare to say not a single commercially released VR game made good on its investment. Not one. |

A lot of those games can't have aged well.
|
Oddworld I think holds up but early 3d games have aged the poorest I think. You can still play SNES and most of up it totally holds up. May be simple but its clean. N64 and PS1 era is rough (ROUGH) on the eyes and im not a graphics gamer at all.

Super Mario 64 is mechanically immortal.
|
Like half of that list is stuff I don't even remember or never played.

Persona vanilla is probably horribly HORRIBLY dated but it's the only title on the classic I kind of want to play just out of morbid curiosity.

Time is a major factor as well. In house development starts much earlier than 3rd party so to prepare a game for launch a 1st party title might have as much as an extra 30% lead time.
But i agree with you completely. |

Haha yeah, there are so many games that should really be on there over P1
|
The issue with a ps1 classic has got to be licensing
|
Very few true classics of that console were in house...if any?
|
A snes classic could be 50% 1st party with out any effort. Youd be turning games down so you could include 3rd party.
|
Yeah Sony didn't really have much to show for themselves until PS3. Even then, eh.
|
Psx and ps2 had tons of amazing exclusives tho
|
But psx/ps2 1st party is like Microsoft's 1st party. Nonexistent

Never got into the PS1, load times turned me off. Thoroughly enjoyed my NES/GB up until the 64 came out.
