I usually don't like the shows on Cartoon Network because they seem to be geared towards 10 year old boys but I happened on this little gem called "Regular Show" and I really enjoy it.

Did anybody catch the new show Perception? It seemed like a mix of a few show from the past, but I didn't mind.

Really hope they don't just go with Deb believing his story and then spending the entire season finding little clues that he's lying only to find out he's a killer again at the end. Would rather they just went the route of the books.

The Wachowski's/Tykwer's adaptation of the best book written in the last 10 years. The cast had me a little worried but it actually looks pretty good.

Bret Easton Ellis Says Casting Matt Bomer As Christian Grey Would Be Ludicrous Because He’s Gay

http://cdn04.cdn.socialitelife.com/w...ss-400x470.jpg

WTF Ellis? Seriously? Supposedly because Matt Bomer is gay, there is no way on earth that he could play the role of Christian Grey.

Bret Easton Ellis, who tried to make it quite clear that he wasn’t discriminating, went on a Twitter rant saying that Matt Bomer “isn’t right for Christian Grey because he is openly gay.” The tweets didn’t end there, however, as he continued his venting spree stating, “Fifty Shades of Grey demands an actor that is genuinely into women. Get it?!?”

Here are the tweets that started off the firestorm.

“Okay. Let’s finalize this. Matt Bomer is totally hot and a very good actor. He is NOT right for Christian Grey and it complicates the role,” Ellis tweeted. “I don’t care how good an actor you are but being married to another man complicates things for playing CG…Matt Bomer is NOT about discrimination. It’s about an intensely straight actor wanting absolutely to screw Ana Steele…the most popular book on the planet having Matt Bomer–a gay actor–play Christian Grey is absolutely ludicrous. Why?”

Bret tweeted at the weekend: “Fifty Shades of Grey: Casting Matt Bomer is the equivalent as casting Jesse Tyler Ferguson…” Ferguson is a gay actor who plays a gay character on Modern Family.

The writer revealed a few days later: “It’s a very major disappointment to announce that I’ve somehow been taken off the list of possible screenwriters for Fifty Shades of Grey… @E_L_James I hope you find someone as passionate as I was about Fifty Shades of Grey. I will miss it.”

All we can say is that we’re very happy that Bret Easton Ellis will not writing the screenplay or directing Fifty Shades Of Grey.

Check out the series of tweets below…

“Okay. Let’s finalise this. Matt Bomer is totally hot and a very good actor. He is NOT right for Christian Grey and it complicates the role,” Bret said on Twitter.

“Fifty Shades of Grey: Matt Bomer: I don’t care how good an actor you are but being married to another man complicates things for playing CG.

“Fifty Shades of Grey: Matt Bomer is NOT about discrimination. It’s about an intensely straight actor wanting absolutely to screw Ana Steele.”

He continued: “Fifty Shades of Grey: the most popular book on the planet having Matt Bomer–a gay actor–play Christian Grey is absolutely ludicrous. Why?

“Jesus, the homophobia over Matt Bomer not being Christian Grey is so unsettling and aesthetically retarded. He’s NOT right for Christian G.

“Okay I’ll say it. Matt Bomer isn’t right for Christian Grey because he is openly gay. He’s great for other roles but this is too big a game.”

Bret added: “And I think if Matt Bomer wants the role which I doubt the international press tour will be an embarrassing fiasco. He’s not CG. Never…

“I am NOT discriminating Matt Bomer because of his sexuality. Fifty Shades of Grey demands an actor that is genuinely into women. Get it?!?

“I actually think it’s cool that women want Matt Bomer as Christian Grey. It means that we’ve moved beyond stereotypes and that gay is hot…

“I think Matt Bomer is incredibly handsome and a good actor but I think he comes off totally gay in White Collar. And that is why no to CG…”

He concluded: “Look, all actors are GAY: they put on make up and pretend to be someone else. That’s just a fact. Rock and roll. Deal with it. Scientology?

“Would anyone watch Brokeback Mountain if it stayed true to the original story where both characters are hideously ugly? No. Homo beauty WIN?

“Hollywood is the most homophobic place in the entire world.”

Krimzon7 08-09-2012 09:50 PM

Isn't 50 shades basically Lifetime movie network porn? are they gonna show penetration? Well, if he read for the part and the book's creator says the guy should be CG then good on him.

Krimzon7 08-09-2012 09:52 PM

“Hollywood is the most homophobic place in the entire world.”

Totally get the opposite impression. I envision Hollywood as everybody fucking everybody. Men Sucking dicks one nanosecond then fucking pussy the next, women eating pussy and just as quickly, taking a ferocious pounding of cock sword.

and this is at 11:00 am on a Tuesday.

James Steele 08-10-2012 02:07 AM

Matt Bomer does a pretty good job of pretending to love vaginas in the USA Original Series "White Collar". I thought Bomer never was "openly gay" but rather saying that his personal life is private and none of the media's concern FYI: White Collar is my favorite show on television.

Two comic movie sequels have added new cast members. Lindy Booth is in talks to join the cast of Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall as Night Bitch, according to Hollywood Reporter. Booth has some geek credits in her resume, including multiple appearances in series The 4400 and Eerie, Indiana, and a role in Dawn of the Dead. Kick-Ass 2 will premiere June 28th, 2013 (see "’'Kick-Ass 2' Debut Set").

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play the dual roles of Algrim the Strong and Kurse in Thor: The Dark World, according to Variety. Akinnuoye-Agbaje had a recurring role on Lost, and appeared in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

Hey Netflix, in what world is A League Of Their Own considered a comedy?

Going to watch Sin City tonight instead of wrestling......I hope it's worth it.

Why does Cuba Gooding Jr. do nothing but Direct-to-DVD stuff?

He's a good actor. What gives?

Kalyx triaD 08-29-2012 09:51 PM

Good actors are different from 'hot' actors.

Schlomey 08-30-2012 08:33 AM

After Radio he's getting the nick dinsmore treatment.

But seriously I think regardless of his skill he chooses bad projects to make a quick buck and in return hurt his marketability to larger market films and directors. Similar to tv actors breaking into film or child actors trying to surge a career as an adult.

Once people see you as something it's really hard to change people's minds.

Yeah I hear you. The reason I thought of it was I was watching "As Good as it Gets" last night and was thinking he was pretty great in it. And then I thought about the other movies... Jerry McGuire, Men of Honor, fuck even Outbreak. He was in big movies with big time players and stood on his own.

Was just a thought that crossed my mind

I am less than 100 pages in, and completely enthralled by it. I would say it is a hard read due to the author's liberal use of the vernacular of the time period, but even though there is a cornucopia of words I've never seen before, the context in which they are used is such that you can always immediately understand what they mean.

Today is a banner day in TV history...for it was 40 years ago to the day that CBS debuted The Price Is Right, originally and for the first at least 2 years called The New Price Is Right as there had been an earlier version which ran from 1956-1965 ('56-'63 on NBC, '63-'65 on ABC).
