really enjoying season 3 of The Killing right now, it's so much better now it's not following the Danish version and doing it's own thing.

I'm not knocking the original series at all, it was great in it's own right, it's just a lot of the more European story elements didn't translate well to an American setting.

ClockShot 06-26-2013 03:04 PM

Awww yeah. Independence Day 2 is a go.

Kalyx triaD 06-26-2013 03:20 PM

I simply can't imagine how ID4 would continue. It was very definitively a one-shot if I ever seen one.

Lock Jaw 06-26-2013 03:30 PM

Naw, I always wanted to see a sequel. Like "Yay, we defeated the aliens!! ...... But our planet is half destroyed..... what do we do now?"

It will most likely just be another alien attack, though.

Oldboy remake trailer

Lock Jaw 07-10-2013 05:40 PM

I can only hope it lives up to the quality of standard set by the Indian Oldboy remake:

Gina Carano
Comic-Con News: Comic creator Rob Liefeld (X-Force, Youngblood) is teaming up with former MMA fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano (Fast and Furious 6) to bring Liefeld’s 1990s comic book heroine Avengelyne to the big screen. Avengelyne is the latest of a number of recent projects announced featuring bodacious 90s comic book babes including Chastity (see "Chastity Optioned for Movies & TV") and Painkiller Jane (see "Marvel Gets 'Painkiller Jane'").

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Karp and Brooklyn Weaver are producing and packaging Avengelyne along with Carano and Liefeld. The hope is to create a franchise built around Carano in much the same way that the Underworld series is built around Kate Beckinsale. The quartet will begin searching for a screenwriter for the project next week.

It's Always Sunny if Philadelphia will be ending after it's 10th season.

Lock Jaw 07-23-2013 06:27 PM

Boo. Last season was "not great", but still.

Need some help. I'm looking for the original SNL "landshark" sketch, but all I find on youtube and dailymotion are recreations or spoofs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Juan 08-08-2013 07:37 PM

Try hulu

Curtis Anderson 08-09-2013 09:33 AM

The Land Shark sketch came out in the late 1970s, long before the Internet. I highly doubt you'll be able to find it on YouTube or Hulu.

There're folks who've put up wrestling matches from the 60s, so I thought it'd be worth a try. Plus, NBC released some of the first few years on DVD a little bit ago.

Renewal day for TNT. Rizzoli & Isles, Perception, Falling Skies, and Major Crimes all got picked up for another season.

Tommy Gunn 08-16-2013 06:18 AM

Just watched Independence Day again for the first time since probably the early 2000s, still a good film, although I noticed some homages to Aliens and Airplane and probably a lot more I never knew about.

At least type out something like "Interesting" or "I don't know what to think about this" and so on.

Michael Lee gave himself a design challenge recently: redesign several popular comic book heroines (Vampirella is included, so I guess they’re not all superheroes in the classic sense) but keep them covered from toe to neck and wrist to wrist, without resorting to costumes that could be reproduced solely by body paint, while keeping the bold look of their standard costume.
Applaud the effort, but don't care for the results.

I want to punch this fucker now.

Kalyx triaD 08-24-2013 10:13 PM

What could have been interesting was purposely made comical. Those are just bad designs.

Spawn creator Todd McFarlane hasn’t given up on the creation of a second live-action Spawn film, even though it has been in development since 1998. The first Spawn movie debuted in 1997 and earned a total of $87.8 million worldwide, barely enough to defray its $40 million cost, but plans for a sequel were announced in 1998, and various projects have slipped away over the intervening years. Now however, with several extremely talented African-American actors such as Jamie Foxx expressing interest in playing Spawn on the big screen, the project appears to have regained some momentum.

McFarlane told The Gate that he is under pressure to provide a screenplay for the sequel, “The reality is that I have a lot of pressure. They want me to deliver a script by the end of the year, which would basically mean that we would be shooting next year. So that’s the goal right now.” McFarlane is talking about writing, directing, and producing the sequel, which means that he has to clear lots of time from his busy schedule to focus on the project.

As for the sequel itself, McFarlane sees it as basically different from the first film, “In terms of production, the Spawn remake will be a very different film from the original, a 60-70 day shoot… I think it’s a quick shoot. It’s not going to have a giant budget or a lot of special effects. It’s going to be more of a horror movie and thriller movie, not a superhero one. I’ve got so many people phoning me now that I have got to get it done. I’ve made some promises to people this year.”

The question remains will movie-going audiences remember the character after such a long hiatus from the screen—and it’s not exactly as if Spawn comics have much of the heat today that they had back in 1997. But McFarlane is promising to “get this project off the ground with some big names,” and it may be the cast, rather than the franchise that brings the crowds to a Spawn sequel, when and if one does materialize on the big screen.

So long as John Leguizamo isn't back as Clown I MIGHT go see it.

Kalyx triaD 08-27-2013 07:17 PM

What makes you think he'd be cast as Clown again? It's a reboot.

Kalyx triaD 08-27-2013 07:18 PM

And personally he wasn't even that bad.

A&E cancels The Glades after 4 seasons.

Fanbase is pissed off. Season finale a few days ago left off with a good cliffhanger.
