I thought it was also in an email from the Sony hack.

ScarJo has been tapped to play The Major in the Dreamworks' Ghost in the Shell movie.

Got a bad feeling about this one.

Kalyx triaD 01-05-2015 11:15 PM

I'm cool with it.

Fignuts 01-05-2015 11:30 PM

There's probably a better choice out there, but I'm okay with ScarJo.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ubisoft and Fox are currently planning on a December 21st, 2016 release for an Assassin's Creed film.

Likely could end up being moved out of that date considering what else is getting released and/or have another snag in its long development road.

Quote:

According to Hollywood Reporter, Fox recently dated a bunch of upcoming flicks, and Assassin's Creed, starring Michael Fassbender, is slated for December 21, 2016. That's one week after the first of the Star Wars spin-offs.

No interest in seeing movies based on modern games. They are already pretty much interactive movies.

That Dead Rising: Watchtower movie starring Rob Riggle as Frank West is still happening, and Sony Pictures has set a premiere date -- March 27.

It will debut on Crackle, Sony's online streaming service, but it will also hit the physical realm and other streaming outlets eventually. Although the project is a feature film, it will be provided in episodic format on select sites.

Sansa Stark as Jean Grey in the new X-Men movie? Fuck yeah

Sophie Turner up in this bitch

JimmyMess 01-24-2015 06:08 PM

I just watched John Wick.

Question: Was Kevin Nash's voice dubbed?

Jura 01-26-2015 02:47 PM

Would be a weird thing to do since that was his only part in the movie. I'm guessing he worked a lot on it plus doing the accent and voice made it sound different. I could be wrong though.

JimmyMess 01-27-2015 09:49 AM

Yeah, I was just curious, because it really didn't sound anything like him. But I guess that is acting afterall.

Sony and Marvel agreed to a new deal regarding the Spiderman series. Sony gave up some of its iron tight control over the series and is allowing Spiderman to appear in other Marvel films while Marvel will provide a lot more support for developing future Spiderman films.
Quote:

(Culver City, California, and Burbank, California February 09, 2015) – Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios announced today that Sony is bringing Marvel into the amazing world of Spider-Man.

Under the deal, the new Spider-Man will first appear in a Marvel film from Marvel's Cinematic Universe (MCU). Sony Pictures will thereafter release the next installment of its $4 billion Spider-Man franchise, on July 28, 2017, in a film that will be co-produced by Kevin Feige and his expert team at Marvel and Amy Pascal, who oversaw the franchise launch for the studio 13 years ago. Together, they will collaborate on a new creative direction for the web slinger. Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films.

Marvel and Sony Pictures are also exploring opportunities to integrate characters from the MCU into future Spider-Man films.

In terms of Marvel's film phases, several films got their release date delayed to make room for Spiderman's new status in the plan.
Quote:

As a result of the new deal, Thor: Ragnarok will now arrive nearly four months later than planned, moving to November 3, 2017 (from July 28). Black Panther, which previously held that spot, gets delayed eight months, going from that original November 3 date to July 6, 2018. That, in turn, bumps Captain Marvel to November 2, 2018 and moves Inhumans all the way to July 12, 2019. The two-part Avengers: Infinity War, meanwhile, remains set for release May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019.

Besides some delayed films, the aftermath of this new deal also saw Andrew Garfield being dropped in favor of someone new for Spiderman's actor.
Quote:

As part of the revamp, the new Spider-Man will first appear in a Marvel film. The companies are not revealing details but that movie is likely to be Captain America: Civil War; the character was a major player in the comics storyline. Andrew Garfield is not expected to reprise the character.

alvarado52 02-10-2015 03:18 AM

still bummed out Garfield not getting a crack at the MCU, but regardless, im insanely stoked for this.

Kalyx triaD 02-10-2015 04:49 AM

So basically Marvel is doing Spidey movies for Sony. Cool.

I'm guessing the people who don't like it are fans of the game but if it's good, mindless action then I don't see the problem.

Kalyx triaD 02-12-2015 03:11 PM

Not that I usually side with purists when it comes to adaptations but I must beg the question; wouldn't it be simpler to just make a good mindless fun action movie? To adapt a game is, to some degree, have it based on the game.

Not saying this is that far removed, looks better than the last try, just saying that over the years I've begun to sympathize with the more level headed criticism.

alvarado52 02-12-2015 04:28 PM

Well truthfully....was there really much of a story to follow in the games?

Sixx 02-12-2015 07:07 PM

I believe the whole series took narrative fairly seriously actually.

ClockShot 02-13-2015 03:33 PM

Marion Cotillard is on board with Michael Fassbender in the Assassins' Creed movie.

If whoever is penning the script does a great job, then I have high hopes for this movie right now.

Being written by Gary Whitta with Gareth Edwards directing it.

Probably going to get slaughtered in the box office since its showing up a week before the new Star Wars film.

Tazz Dan 02-22-2015 07:50 PM

Two and a Half Men. Nobody is talking about the finale. Thoughts people?

Lock Jaw 02-22-2015 07:52 PM

Made a comment in the casual forum about it.... Never really watched the show or got into it, but I read what the final scene was and it just seems like the most terrible and petty thing ever.

Tazz Dan 02-24-2015 03:00 AM

Pretty much, the whole episode was just them taking shots at Charlie Sheen, although I didn't think it was meant in an attacking manner, it came across as more of a tribute to his character to me. But yeah, it was far from good. On the bright-side though, it continued the trend of disappointing show finale's recently :y:

Jura 02-24-2015 12:24 PM

Yeah it seems like when shows end they don't put as much effort into wrapping it up. Maybe it's because they were cliffhanger endings but I liked the Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles and Angel finales.

I heard they offered Charlie Sheen to show up at the end but he didn't want to do it the way they wanted and that was that.

Droford 02-26-2015 12:33 AM

The Ferris Buller episode of the Goldbergs was pretty hilarious. Charlie Sheen reprising his role in the police station was funny.
