Im going to have 30 free invites to the Preshow app sometime in november if anyone wants me to give you an invite pm me and you'll get one

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ee/description

Basically all you have to do is watch 15 minutes of targeted ads on your phone to get a free 2d movie ticket good anytime to just about any theatre for any movie you want to watch. Its free for you (I paid $60 to be in the beta)

Lock Jaw 04-30-2019 08:19 PM

So, you can get a free 2d movie ticket anytime you want? Just need to put on a 15 minute advertisement and walk away from your phone until it is done?

actually as soon as you look away from your phone during the ad it pauses so you can stagger your viewing of the ads in chunks but the app uses facial recognition to make sure your eyes are on the phone for the whole duration of the ads (meaning someone else cant watch for you either). Might be a bit creepy for some..i get it
you gotta be in the us though, sorry

Droford 04-30-2019 08:35 PM

any other questions read the kickstarter

Lock Jaw 04-30-2019 09:09 PM

I don't care THAT much.....

So what you are saying is that you need to point your phone at a picture of yourself and walk away while it plays ads to your picture.

Kalyx triaD 04-30-2019 09:22 PM

Anything that demands I literally watch an add on my phone, and they'd know whether you did or didn't, is a no go for me. Not for no fucking movie tickets, suck my dick.

they have specially designed facial recognition software, Id assume maybe if its possible to fool a face lock id thing on your phone maybe it would work but im betting not.

a ticket here costs $15 so for me watching the ads amounts to getting paid $60 an hour, $1 per minute.

Kalyx triaD 05-01-2019 12:44 AM

Nope. Nope.

Tom Guycott 05-01-2019 01:31 AM

Companies think shit like that is "clever", but they're only inspiring people to find ways NOT to be forced to watch their shitty ads. Being such a long timeframe and not being able to multitask is a huge ask. It was a huge ask for the TV stations that flirted with intermission style commercials. Never see those anymore, likely because people weren't going to sit through that long of a break when they could channel surf and start watching something else.

And that's not even going into the having to be on my phone part. I'll pay full price, and agree that they can suck Kalyx's dick a second time. "In a row?"

Disney went and got their hands on Hulu. $5.8 billion for majority control. Comcast's NBCUniversal still sits on a 33% stake in the company.

According to a report from Deadline, USA Network is currently working on a new television series based on the Doom video game series.

Specifically its based on a book called "Masters of Doom" which tells the story of the series creation.

The pilot episode is currently planned to air later this year.

This success would ultimately lead to an uncomfortable parting of the ways.

The show will be written by Tim Bissell, who has scribed video games in the Gears of War, Uncharted and Battlefield franchises. The Masters of Doom TV adaptation is part of the USA Network's upcoming thematic season, which will look at various Americans who succeeded in making it big within their chosen industries.

As many of you probably knew, HBO was planning to do a Game of Thrones prequel set in the during the Age of Heroes with a temporary title called "The Longest Night". Naomi Watts had top billing and the pilot was filmed.

That has now been scrapped.

Instead, they're going a different direction and doing a prequel based on the Targaryens. House of the Dragon is this new show.

Didn't even finish GOT. Skipped last season, cause I lost interest when they turned Jon Snow superhero.

So, uh, who's jumping on the Disney+ bandwagon?

When the MCU stuff launches. Not signing up to yet another stream service just for Mandalorian (excited as I am about it).

Just as well. Much like with *anything* at launch anymore, it could use improvements. For example, for some odd reason, I watched the season 2 finale of Ducktales reboot (I had seen the rest via other means, since I could never get Disney GO to work), and after I was done, they appear to have reshuffled/renumbered the episode order. This wouldn't be so much of an issue if the 2017 series weren't semi-serialized; most of the episodes stand alone, but actually take place in chronological order, with callbacks to things that happened previously. Season enders wrap up a whole background arc. It's one thing when Fox did this with Firefly. It's another with Disney screwing their own property.

There's also stuff that has a thumbnail, but not up yet, and occasionally flat out won't run (with an error message).

Being fair about it, though, I just rolled with the $13 bundle. The minute they decide that they're leaving too much money on the table and charge "full price" for Disney, ESPN, and Hulu separately, I'm out.

Besides Mandalorian and the aforementioned Ducktales eps, I've also got my fix of 90's X-Men and 1981 Spider-Man (pre "Amazing Friends", though that's there too). I needed to hear the classic Dr. Doom voice somewhere other than an MF DOOM album.

Kalyx triaD 11-18-2019 12:33 AM

Somebody I know is sharing Disney+ with me and The Mandalorian is indeed worth the entire price.

Seanny One Ball 11-18-2019 01:19 AM

I don't even like Star Wars and I'm tempted.

Disney now working on a "Live Action" Robin Hood (the cartoon one with the animals) remake......

Black Widow 04-10-2020 05:03 PM

Fuck Disney!!

None of these live action remakes have been any good.

Lock Jaw 04-10-2020 05:26 PM

I enjoyed The Jungle Book.... though I admit to not having much of a connection to the old animated version via not watching it a lot, so maybe that helped.....

Should remake Men in Tights instead.

Ruby Rose is 1 and done with Batwoman.

Someone new will be re-cast for season 2.

Lock Jaw 05-19-2020 11:05 PM

Wow, that's unexpected. Hopefully they get someone more "badass"

Seanny One Ball 05-20-2020 12:19 AM

She would have been better cast as young Bruce Wayne in Gotham.
