Jeopardy!

Yo I have been watching Jeopardy daily, hooked on it

current champion Dan is a legislative aid from Boston Massachusets (His 6 day cash winnings total $126,229) best champion we've had in a while and its good to have him as champ after Cora turned heel and reigned forever

Yo there was this total jobber on last show, I can't even explain. She finisished with -$6600, come on. Got like 2 questions right. The Video Daily Double in the Jeopardy round category Geometry showed a picture of an isosceles triangle and asked what kind of triangle it was and she said equilateral. How did she even get on the show? She even gave multiple questions without saying "what is" at the beginning  plus she no-sold everything.

Nervous Ferret 01-07-2008 12:05 AM

Love Jeopardy

Fignuts 01-07-2008 02:06 AM

My Grandma loves this show, I think its pretty cool too. It makes me look like a dumbass, I rarely know the answers to anything.

Nervous Ferret 01-07-2008 07:22 PM

Jeop at 7, WoF at 7:30

OssMan 01-07-2008 07:58 PM

What the fuck it is the other way around here. I can't think of a logical explanation for ABC to do this.

OssMan 01-08-2008 10:28 PM

Huge heel turn by Charlotte.

They tried to hide the Daily Doubles from Dan and it worked but he still won.

Nervous Ferret 01-09-2008 12:14 AM

Yeah as Assman stated it's flipped like that in VA also. Now that I think about it, it is pretty much like that everywhere. I used to do a lot of traveling up and down the east coast with the fam, always staying in hotels I would watch Jeopardy, and WoF would come on and I'd be like 'wtffffffffff missed it' But it would only be 7:00, and I was like &&&%^what. Just remembered this anomaly. I will get to the bottom of this

Savio 01-09-2008 05:01 PM

We get it at 730 here

Boondock Saint 01-17-2008 04:01 AM

Babatope FTW

OssMan 02-07-2008 06:38 PM

babatope is weak

Nervous Ferret 02-07-2008 10:05 PM

Babatope was easily the worst champ ever, he was in the red for most of the game, and hit a few big ones at the end, then he wagered nothing on final jeopardy even though the play was clearly to risk it all, he got lucky that the defending champ was jawful at math and couldn't calculate right so he won by $100 because everybody got it wrong. Then the next day he tried to pull the same crap again only this time with a lead and he got BURNT

FakeLaser 02-07-2008 11:18 PM

This guy Dave that goes to my bar has been on Jeopardy. I have defeated him in bar trivia though so I dunno.

OssMan 02-12-2008 08:37 PM

teen tournament is lame.

best category: Balls

Nervous Ferret 02-12-2008 11:41 PM

What is the only state to have a diacritical mark in it's name when written properly?

nerf: Hawai'i obviously, freaking stupid easy

girl 1: massachusets (thats how she spelt it)
guy 1: Wyoming?
guy 2 and eventual winner: What is I have no idea?

Trebek: Hawai'i

Nerf: freaking idiots

Boondock Saint 02-13-2008 03:04 AM

ROFL @ balls.

Musta been the ep on Monday cos they didnt show it here

Azriel 02-13-2008 06:32 PM

Sucks have to wait at least another week for real jeopardy. I took the online test few weeks ago. Needless to say, I sucked

OssMan 02-28-2008 07:53 PM

O shit got tricked on final jeopardy said the Saints for "Only NFL team to play its home games out of state in a stadium named for another team" cause I thought of that game the Saints played in Giants Stadium  didnt see "its home games" in the clue mom was like isn't it Giants and i was llike ojhhh must be jets dammit.

Nervous Ferret 02-28-2008 08:06 PM

yeah I looked at the Q and was like wtf, and then oh Jets obv. wtf@ the tie though. If yr. gunna go big why not calculate it so you have enough to win, only needed to put a 1 on thee end

OssMan 02-28-2008 08:34 PM

she prolly figured winning is the same as a tie? so why not give Jason some gratification as well

Nervous Ferret 02-28-2008 08:38 PM

yah good call, realized that after I said so, in a tie both are winners somehow, should have a double final jeopaRDY IMO

OssMan 02-28-2008 08:42 PM

Freakin hate the part where Trebek talks to the contestants, like the most unfunny shit today was not too bad but when Babatope was on he was all "It says here on your card that sometimes people mistake your first name for your whole name" "Well yes this one person at work just called me Bob and thought my last name was Atope and just disregarded my last name" Trebek:"Hello Bob, how is Mrs. Atope?"

OssMan 02-28-2008 08:43 PM

Also NerF did you watch any teen terna mint? That kid Hunter was the ultimate heel and I just wanted him to suffer as much as possible, that one time he got a question right and knew it was right so he just interupted Trebek tryna say "correct" n just picked the category right away, made me so freakin angry

Nervous Ferret 02-28-2008 08:47 PM

lol yeah Hunter, hate how Trebek plays up this huge rivalry between the sophmores vs. seniors vs. juniors or whatever

Also I concur on talking to contestants, so bad.

OssMan 02-28-2008 08:49 PM

ALSO the chick who won the teen tournament didn't even know what 20% of 80 was IASFJASOIUDJASIODASJ "Do the Math for 1600 Alex" "Answer: Daily Double. If a shirt is normally $80 and it is on sale for 20% off, this is the new price"

"..."
"..."
"..."
Me: "What 64 come on"
Dad: "OMG"

"..."

"Sorry, it's $64"

PapaGeorgio 02-29-2008 01:41 AM

I as well hate teen week as they often don't understand how to play Jeopardy. The go back and forth between categories all the time which annoys me greatly. Once someone starts a category, they should finish it out in most cases. Instead everyone keeps switching it up to piss me off.

Also, for those aware or unaware you can watch a fair amount of episodes of Jeopardy on youtube, they are somewhat hard to find at times. But yeah, Jeopardy is amazing, which it was on like all the time.

OssMan 02-29-2008 10:47 PM

Eh switching categories is no big diehl dont think there are any unwritten rules like that for jeopardy innit.

OssMan 03-04-2008 07:56 PM

Watched jeopardy a few times with my dad last week. Is Matt the dude who kept interrupting trebek to pick the next answer? Like he was on cocaine or something? Guy was mad annoying.

DAMN iNATOR 10-05-2015 06:23 AM

This guy, Matt is really starting to piss me off...always does the "hand display" of the # of games he's won while Johnny introduces him, plays the game like he's in fucking NASCAR, and generally just takes the game (and himself, 99% of the time) way too seriously.

Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge the guy of his winnings or his win streak, but he could stand to lighten up and relax a little. It's a freaking GAME SHOW, ffs.

They're booking him against jobbers for the most part, so he's just holding the roster down... let's wait and see how he does on the grandest stage of them all, the jeopardy tournament of champions

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-08-2015 11:19 PM

10 Matt Jackson* Washington, D.C. $289,411

He's the 10 to qualify so far for the tournament of champions.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-08-2015 11:25 PM

The tournament starts next month too. Matty is heating up at the right time to cash in even bigger.

OssMan 10-09-2015 06:42 PM

Do you think he will cash in at Tournament of Champions?

Lock Jaw 10-09-2015 11:57 PM

Caught today's ep.... Matt dude crushed it.... got two Daily Doubles in a row, $10,000 in two questions.... poor girl in the middle kept getting things wrong and becoming increasingly exasperated....

Lock Jaw 10-09-2015 11:58 PM

Why do they call it a Daily Double if it happens more than once a day?

OssMan 10-10-2015 12:14 AM

Y'all see Matt get both daily doubles on his first two questions in Double Jeopardy. Finished with his highest score $50,000 even after starting out -$1,000.

Apparently Merv Griffin, series creator, named it after a special attraction that happens/used to happen during a slate of horse races on a given day. To win a daily double bet, one must pick the winners of two consecutive races, hence the name.

He'll get got one of these days...champions who stick around on the show for too long start to make it more of a chore than fun to watch, IMO. I don't have a problem with most winners who aren't on longer than about 7 days. After that I just need to see a new champ crowned for a breath of fresh air.
