Eh. I'm pretty content with the reimagined BSG as it is. After seeing some of the cast at Dragon*Con and listening to their experiences dealing with the story, script, and RDM's idea for the series, I think it was perfect for its time, and could only have been pulled off during the time in which it was done. The social commentary and weaving at-the-time-current events into the plot served not only as a great launching pad for a show, but also got people talking about things that were ACTUALLY RELEVANT in a way that could avoid fisticuffs. Hooray, allegory!

Now, tacking on another backstory element through a series seems arbitrary. When put up against the emotional depth of the reimagined series, would a full chronicle of the First Cylon War pull its weight, or just muddle up the canon?
SPOILER: show
I mean, you'll have to throw Tigh in there for sure somewhere, right? Not to mention the others, if only to give a nod to the future events in BSG.

Maybe that's too much speculation, and I should just accept the webisodes/eventual telecast of the pilot for what it is, and enjoy another frakking foray into the canon. I just can't get excited about a prequel anymore. I wonder why?

Also, this is all before I've watched the first part.

Broken Arrow is an awesome movie.

I have to say though it has a really good score. The main guitar rift is excellent. I never noticed that before.

Kalyx triaD 11-24-2012 03:20 PM

Yeah I liked it. Had a crush on the funny looking female lead for a while.

Reports saying Bill Murray is now back on for a Ghostbusters 3

Kalyx triaD 12-05-2012 02:49 PM

I gotta say, after a while his avoiding the project seemed pretentious and I was about to settle for a reboot. Glad he's in but I heard too much 'he didn't like the script' and not enough 'well he sent in his ideas/rewrite'. Again, glad he's in, but it was starting to annoy me.

Lock Jaw 12-05-2012 02:51 PM

Personally, I'm still doubtful about the entire thing until they actually start shooting it.

Droford 12-06-2012 02:39 AM

If they wait much longer, they can use ghosts of the cast as cameos

Apparently in the quest to remake everything, they are remaking JUMANJI:

Original Jumanji wasn't that good to begin with. When did crappy movies start getting re-makes too? I blame all these re-makes on Vince Vaughn's Psycho.

Lock Jaw 12-08-2012 01:38 PM

Hey! I loved Jumanji as a kid!

Emperor Smeat 12-08-2012 02:27 PM

Disney considering on having a sequel made for Wreck-it Ralph with the director and co-creator trying to push to get Mario included this time.

List of the top 20 WORST films of 2012. I haven't seen all of these but the list appears pretty legit. I did, however, like The Raven, even though I understand why it's disliked.

The guy who wrote all that sounds like a tremendous douche

Kalyx triaD 12-10-2012 06:36 PM

Yeah something about his tone makes me wanna punch his mother in the ear.

Schlomey 12-12-2012 11:54 AM

I am now in the possession of every Star Trek movie on Blu Ray. Broke but happy as fuck.

Frank Drebin 01-03-2013 09:07 PM

New Evil Dead trailer looks sweet

Kalyx triaD 01-04-2013 12:43 AM

Wasn't that posted her a while ago?

Anyway that trailer looks wicked.

Frank Drebin 01-04-2013 12:46 AM

Something similar was, this is new as far as I can tell.

Pretty sold on seeing it

Kalyx triaD 01-04-2013 12:58 AM

Jessica Lucas is in it so I'm kinda obligated.

KaraBoo 01-04-2013 01:09 AM

Jumanji freaked me out.

Frank Drebin 01-18-2013 09:23 AM

Last episode of Fringe is tonight. What does everyone think? Is it gonna deliver?

Feel like itl be action packed and exiting. Hoping it ties everything up and dosent leave any major open ends.

Corporate CockSnogger 01-19-2013 04:26 PM

It was alright, the past fringe incidents being brought back as weapons against the observers was nice, but it was all a bit lacklustre really. The whole of season 5 could've probably just been condensed into a movie.

Go watch Mama right now. Er, at night or whatever.

Tommy Gunn 02-23-2013 04:52 PM

I saw Mama last night, it messed me up.

I've been watching the original Star Trek series on blu-ray, it's magnificent.

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-27-2013 03:48 AM

Calling it the original series is a bit dubious with all of the bullshit CGI they put in it.

Tommy Gunn 02-27-2013 06:44 AM

The blu-ray lets you switch between the new and old effects with one button. I actually prefer the new effects, sue me, it doesn't interfere with the live action like the original Star Wars re-releases, it's mostly used for external shots of the 'prise! :)

Kalyx triaD 03-04-2013 08:08 PM

Completely random, but here's the full TMNT 80's meets 2000's crossover movie for those who never seen it. If you're a fan on the oldschool cartoon, watch this. If you're a fan of the mid-2000s revival watch. If you have experience with both versions, watch this. If you remember reading the original comics, WATCH THIS particularly for the final battle.

And yes, the brand new Nick series is very cool so check that out as well.

Emperor Smeat 03-05-2013 02:36 PM

New Resident Evil film is arriving next year (September 12) although it hasn't been confirmed that both Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson are involved with the new film.

RE Retribution managed to become the #2 all-time box office film in the series.

Cool. Gotta see this 'Resident Evengers' set up they got going.

Droford 03-05-2013 11:14 PM

The useless network chiller which I don't even get in HD is airing two of my favorite shows ever on Tuesdays in pushing daisies and dead like me. One of these days I'll splurge for the DVDs of dead like me

lol that is incredibly awesome

Heisenberg 03-08-2013 11:51 AM

Kevin Smith is writing the script for Clerks III. I'm down for that.

Kalyx triaD 03-08-2013 12:04 PM

Mission Impossible 3 is cool.

Tinker Bell's Ice World movie thing is shockingly witty (don't ask).

Watched Tremors for the 100th time maybe. Easily one of my favorite movies ever.
