Problem is they already tried this tactic before with Reigns and the end result was them not changing their booking of him afterwards.

All this prestige building and "work horse" stuff is just going to get tossed away once WWE wants to move on to the next big thing for Reigns. Just like they did with the IC belt for Reigns and US belt with Cena both times.

WWE teasing another match for Evolution contributing its trend towards "meh" and/or train wreck status for match quality.

Melina was good compared to the majority of Divas era wrestlers but Naomi is not a good fit. Naomi isn't terrible but she isn't that good either in the ring.

Meanwhile a rumored match going around the net involves Taker's wife having a singles match against:
SPOILER: show
Asuka

I get the feeling I'm going to be using that image a lot from now until the PPV.

Cool King 09-03-2018 06:38 AM

I'm sure even though a lot of us aren't really into the idea of most of the matches, I get the feeling most of us are going to watch the PPV anyway.

Thank you for giving me a good laugh.

I really needed it today.

Mr. Nerfect 09-03-2018 07:36 AM

There is a very specific type of fan that is interested in the concept of the Evolution PPV. These matches seem completely tone-deaf to that fan's taste. I will say that it is probably going to be more interesting to see how the crowd reacts to Ruby Riott vs. Kelly Kelly than a decently booked show.

Lol Undisputed Era at 10. This is about as bad a WWE list as they've ever posted.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-03-2018 09:00 AM

The New Day ahead of the hart foundation and the Shield #1. Good god.

Jordan 09-03-2018 09:07 AM

It's funny that the three stables that should be considered greatest of all time both had prolonged runs that ruined the initial genius of their booking. The Horsemen, NWO and DX. I think that the Shield takes the cake as far as match quality though. That first year or so when they were having magic 6 man's all over the place was insane. I wouldn't put them in the top 3 but I'd have them in my top 10. I don't consider The Freebirds and New Day a "faction".

Bad News Gertner 09-03-2018 09:13 AM

To me a faction is 4 or more people.

Evil Vito 09-03-2018 11:16 AM

I don't even know how the Nexus made that list. The group started off hot but they were killed dead within two months. They never recovered after being Super Cena'd at SummerSlam.

Evil Vito 09-03-2018 11:26 AM

Much as I loved the initial Nexus angle though, if you really break down the group with some objectivity, it was probably never going to succeed long-term. Wade Barrett and Skip Sheffield were the only two guys in that group who had any real chance to achieve stardom in that group, and the latter shattered his ankle two months in.

I've LOVED Heath Slater since pretty much 2012, once he dedicated himself to becoming a comedy dude, he's gold. But he looked fucking ridiculous having to act all serious as a heel.

Darren Young was another guy who looked ridiculous trying to act serious, and he wasn't all that good in the ring to boot.

Justin Gabriel was cool, but at his size there was only so far he was going to go. Nowadays there are dozens of guys who can do what he does better than him.

Michael Tarver at least had an imposing look, but could've never been anything more than a bodyguard type.

David Otunga is the double whammy - looked absurd playing a serious heel and also one of the worst wrestlers I've ever seen.

Bad News Gertner 09-03-2018 11:26 AM

I'm shocked they left the Corporation off the list

Probably because it took one minute to make and thirty seconds to think up.

Evil Vito 09-03-2018 11:30 AM

It's actually kind of a shock to me that Ryback was allowed to wear a singlet. I'm 100% certain Vince has jacked off to a picture of Skip Sheffield.

I generally agree but I consider Shield a faction where as I don't with The Freebirds and The New Day. Reason I think that way is because they weren't really focused as a tag team but as a trio.

For me my all time stables...

10. Los Boriquas
9. Evolution
8. Shield
7. The Corporation
6. Nation of Domination
5. Hart Foundation
4. Bullet Club
3. NWO
2. DX
1. Horsemen

Yeah they're just six man tag teams.

The Freebirds were pretty much focused as a trio feuding with David, Kevin and Kerry Von Erich, who if they are including the Freebirds, than its ridiculous not to have the Von Erich's too

I don't think the New Day being ahead of the Hart Foundation is weird at all. They're probably the only modern faction that deserves to be on the list

They've had a much bigger impact than the Hart Foundation, and overall, their in ring work is better.

hard to argue this. I remember when the three of them were just beginning and between the choir singing their theme song and the way they portrayed themselves in their entrance and how they were booked, I never thought in a million years they would be in the position they are today

As much as I love to go back and enjoy rasslin' history World Class is tough for me, at least what's on The Network. I've never really gotten into Texas Rasslin so my exposure to The Birds and the Von Erich's is slightly more than introductory.

Emperor Smeat 09-03-2018 06:38 PM

Only post-Attitude Era group I'd keep on that factions list would be Evolution.

Undisputed Era have been great in NXT but means nothing since they haven't been hit with main roster Creative treatment.

Nexus started off hot but fizzled really quickly as a group. Same for New Nexus and Corre never living up to their potential as factions.

New Day shouldn't belong since they are just a tag team albeit with 3 guys. Same could be said of the Freebirds.

The Shield shouldn't count similar to New Day and Freebirds due to them lacking numbers. Plus their first run as a group was really short even though it was also very good overall.

Anybody Thrilla 09-03-2018 06:50 PM

You'd better hope DOA doesn't see that list.

Jordan 09-03-2018 07:22 PM

I think it's fair to say Roman counts as two whole men or at least a man and a big dog. Right?

#1-norm-fan 09-03-2018 07:39 PM

Holy fucking shit @ that list. lol

#1-norm-fan 09-03-2018 07:41 PM

If that list were made a couple years ago, I have no doubt The League of Nations would have been top 5.

#1-norm-fan 09-03-2018 07:42 PM

If it were made in 2010, The Nexus would have been the clear #1.
