Black Widow gets a movie and Hawkeye only some online series?

Guess we got Scarlett's boobs to thank for that.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-21-2019 06:20 AM

Mahershala Ali is a bad ass, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with Blade; Wesley Snipes is going to loom large, though.

Hopefully they won't tone it done to a PG-13, instead go the route of Logan and Deadpool.

GD 07-21-2019 06:20 AM

He dead, dawg. u no watch Luke Cage?

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-21-2019 06:22 AM

Also, I think they going to make this Black Widow some kind of multi-verse film, which eventually brings the character back into the main universe. Fucking hell, this is going to get confusing.

GD 07-23-2019 02:12 AM

Natalie Portman to play Thor in "Love and Thunder".

Is Twitter "melting down" over this?

Seanny One Ball 07-23-2019 09:48 AM

I trust Taika Waititi

The female Thor is generally a well liked character, so I don't think sio.

Destor 07-23-2019 01:53 PM

The outrage will be there. How else do you advertise in 2019?

XL 07-23-2019 02:07 PM

Why has it taken until today for this to be mentioned here?

RP 07-23-2019 02:12 PM

Why is she gonna be named Thor? I thought Thor was Thor's real name and not some name they hand out to any white person who can carry a hammer.

Yeah, its a dumb thing.

Seanny One Ball 07-23-2019 02:21 PM

Is Portman's character the person who's supposed to become the Mighty Thor in the comics? Was her character mentioned in any of the films since Dark World?

I suppose saving the universe is more important than love but everybody else got to have sappy moments with their significant other....

Fignuts 07-23-2019 02:21 PM

In the comics, she took the hammer and the name Thor while the real Thor was unworthy and only referring to himself as Odinson.

I assume in this one it's going to be something like "earth still needs a Thor" while the real Thor is away.

But yeah. Still dumb. But not dumb enough to really bother me.

Seanny One Ball 07-23-2019 02:23 PM

I'm just glad she's back. Natalie Portman is great.

LOL

So Thor basically lets his dad take the flack. "When I'm shit I'll just call myself your son".

She was in endgame.

Destor 07-23-2019 02:30 PM

and they established Thor is still carrying a flame for her

RP 07-23-2019 03:33 PM

Don Lee is fantastic. If you havent seen Train to Busan, you're missing a outstanding zombie movie.

Oh, still ain't out on home entertainment so I ain't seen it.
Glad they wedged her in.

GD 07-23-2019 04:51 PM

Without spoiling much, it's an interesting choice to cast Mahershala Ali as BLADE since he portrayed Cottonmouth in the first season of Luke Cage.

GD 07-23-2019 04:53 PM

That being said, Martin Starr has already played two separate minor characters in Hulk and the new Spider-Man series.

William Hurt plays two fairly prominent characters in the MCU. It's fucking stupid.

Nevermind, turns out Martin Starr is playing the same character.

All I could find was that he has played "Thaddeus Ross" in multiple films.

Seanny One Ball 07-23-2019 05:07 PM

I got him confused with Jeff Bridges.

Now I feel silly.

Seanny One Ball 07-23-2019 05:09 PM

The fact I have made this mistake before leaves me little hope for my memory in old age.

GD 07-23-2019 05:12 PM

Happens. I'm terrible at remembering names and confuse Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain.

GD 07-23-2019 05:15 PM

Wish they'd somehow bring back Killmonger.

I think I've made that mistake too.

Elias Koteas/Christopher Meloni
Maria Belo/Mary McCormack

They look like twins.

He's a welcome addition to the pantheon of actors/actressess pulling double duty in the MCU.

As for Portman being Thor, I just hope (though they likely won't) make some sort of visual gag of some fangirl dressed like the kid in Adventures In Babysitting.

Honestly they don't really rely on her sex appeal in the MCU since Avengers 1. She's mostly just flirty.

It's a prequel between Civil War and Infinity War.

Eh..... Fairly significant comic fandom still aren't too crazy about treating Thor's name like a mantle, and certain panels where they take strawman shots at the arguments against her. It still doesn't make sense but hopefully that could expressed in some comedic fashion.

No he's Ross the whole time. From Incredible Hulk to Endgame. He merely got a promotion since we last saw him in Hulk.

The Hells Kitchen heroes are more or less non-canon. This isn't even the first time a Luke Cage actor appeared in an MCU movie as a different character. They don't care, they never cared.

I could definitely see Cap appearing and dragging her back into the "present."

Don't think the Soul stone would like that at all.

They're canon with an asterisk. Mainly because they perpetually exist in a timeframe between the first two Avengers movies no matter how much unspecified time passes. However, just because they don't cross over doesn't mean they don't exist. The storytelling as a whole was better for it (outside of S1 of Iron Fist, I mean) not being saddled with having to constantly address any of the movies or Agents.

Even and still: the double duty thing, canon or no (including all X-Men and FF stuff and anything pre MCU), should be reguarded as honor, even if an unofficial one.
