The Brawl for All episode is tonight. Looks like Cornette and Russo are both in it. Hope they don’t ruin this one like they did the Montreal Screwjob episode.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-07-2020 11:56 AM

Actually that one would’ve been bad even if they weren’t in it

Bad News Gertner 04-07-2020 11:58 AM

Lol you know it's going to be a Russo vs Cornette pissing match

Probably looking forward to this one the least this season, except for maybe the Road Warriors

Truth!

Both trying to take credit for it when all the actually people involved have constantly said the only ones who knew were Vince, Brisco, Hebner, HBK, and HHH.

Bonus from that episode, Scott Hall still thinking it was a work lol.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-07-2020 09:03 PM

Hall saying Shawn told him it was a work was the only new or interesting thing in that episode.

Bad News Gertner 04-07-2020 10:13 PM

Pretty weak episode so far

Bad News Gertner 04-07-2020 10:43 PM

Definitely the weakest episode I've seen including Season 1.

Bad News Gertner 04-07-2020 11:03 PM

Holy shit at the trailer for next weeks episode.

Brawl for All was better than the Montreal Screwjob one IMO. While it had a bunch of Corny/Russo nonsense, it at least had the fresh element of Bart Gunn's perspective, which I found to be EASILY the most interesting part. He came across as a humble (relatively) dude who understood his own circumstances. Plus, Droz was a breath of fresh air. And Godfather was fun, too.

The main problem with the story is that it really isn't all that intriguing. We all knew it was a dumb idea, and it played out as such. Not much else to it. But I appreciated the narrative, minus the Corny/Russo stuff -- which was pointless.

erickman 04-08-2020 07:13 AM

wonder why jbl was not interviewed for it that would have been good.

Bad News Gertner 04-08-2020 08:47 AM

Fuuuuuuuuck I can't wait for the Snuka episode omg

Volare 04-08-2020 09:23 AM

Godfather, Gillberg, and Butterbean all in a room.....Damn!

Seanny One Ball 04-08-2020 11:50 AM

Vince Russo came off so badly during that it was nearly unwatchable.

It was great to see Bart Gunn and Droz at least.

James Steele 04-08-2020 02:10 PM

Russo is a twatwaffle.

Bad News Gertner 04-08-2020 02:33 PM

He looked like such a moron. You can definitely see why Cornette hates him.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-08-2020 03:14 PM

I'm sure WWE doesn't let anybody currently employed do these.

Also, JBL has commented on it before. He said his idea was for what would become the hardcore division, but Russo took that and came up with Brawl for All. That it did nobody any good and was dumb.

JBL also admitted nobody knew how good of punches Bart Gunn had, and had no embarrassment that he got his ass kicked.

xrodmuc316 04-08-2020 07:57 PM

Also, how the fuck is Vince Russo STILL getting work for doing a good job at something 22 years ago. It's insanity.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-08-2020 08:46 PM

Some would argue he didn’t do all that good of a job in the first place as his approach was undeniably unsustainable.

Mr. Nerfect 04-09-2020 12:33 AM

What I don't get is the "nice guy" stuff about Russo. Dude is clearly a piece of shit, lol.

slik 04-09-2020 12:50 AM

Just finished the Brawl For All episode.Thankfully a little lighter than New Jack and Benoit episodes - but still good.

Russo is as Russo as ever.

I wonder if this was a few years later if Brock would have easily won. Do you guys think Brock would have demolished Butterbean if they squared up, I have to think he would have.

Yes on Brock winning the tournament but doubt it for the Butterbean fight since that was a regular boxing match. Lesnar likely loses most of the advantages he has as a fighter under that scenario but he'd last longer than Gunn did for sure.

Bad News Gertner 04-09-2020 10:56 AM

Butterbean would have killed Brock under those rules.

You may as well tie Brock's hands behind his back at that point.

Big Vic 04-09-2020 12:17 PM

Was the WM15 match under Boxing rules or Brawl for all rules?

XL 04-09-2020 12:36 PM

I thought it was a “Brawl For All” match but Gunn tried to box (rather than use a takedown) which didn’t go very well for him.

Seanny One Ball 04-09-2020 12:36 PM

Boxing, that's why Bart boxed him.
That wasn't really made clear in the episode, they made it seem like Bart went out and boxed him because he was told to rather than because those were the rules.

Bart Gunn having a win over Cabbage Correira was an interesting point. I mean if it was an MMA match Bart Gunn probably would kill Butterbean. Butterbean's MMA record, much like his boxing one is highly questionable even in a kind light.

Freak show events.

Seanny One Ball 04-09-2020 12:38 PM

Hold on, it does say on the WM15 wiki that it was a Brawl For All match...

That doesn't make sense though because the BFA was over by then and the match was presented as a boxing match with a boxer as the ref and everything.

This event doesn't stand up to scrutiny!

Seanny One Ball 04-09-2020 12:40 PM

In this moment, I am convinced that Bart Gunn would have destroyed Butterbean in an mma/brawl for all style match.

Oh God, I didn't think the BFA could be any more of a travesty but knowing that Bart Gunn could actually have beaten the Bean is too much for me to cope with.

yeah vince don't want to give his side of the story on most of these stories.

It’s referred to as a Brawl For All Match on the PPV. They go over the rules, referring to the take down. The competition was over but this was a Special Attraction for Mania. They both enter to the same music, which I’m guessing is the BFA music.

TBF, it’s hard to say that Gunn went in there to box, he wasn’t in there long enough for us to know for certain.

slik 04-09-2020 09:10 PM

Really looking forward to the Snuka episode

Mr. Nerfect 04-09-2020 10:24 PM

Snuka is going to be tremendous.

Emperor Smeat 04-09-2020 11:15 PM

Just finished watching the Brawl for All episode and came away with thinking the whole thing was even dumber than I previously felt.

Not even the brackets had any real thought put into it to ensure the whole thing wouldn't quickly fall apart the moment something went wrong.

To be fair, I don't remember Bart Gunn going for takedowns in any of the BFA matches. I am guessing he went into the right with what brought him. Problem was he ran into a bull of a pro puncher who outweighed him by over 100 pounds, and knocked him silly.

Seanny One Ball 04-10-2020 02:04 AM

Bart Gunn successfully executed takedowns in the BFA.
I'm sure he had a takedown on Dr Death.
