Chris Rock is rebooting Saw

https://deadline.com/2019/05/chris-r...es-1202616185/

this is weird

Seanny One Ball 05-17-2019 10:06 PM

He thinks he's Jordan Peele now.
It won't work...

Frank Drebin 05-17-2019 10:58 PM

Find it hard to believe he's going to be super hands on with this. Probably just going to attach his name to it in the hope of getting the same audience that propelled Get Out, Us and Black Panther.

Fignuts 05-17-2019 11:40 PM

lol what

Droford 05-17-2019 11:49 PM

I'm betting it's a comedy parody

Seanny One Ball 05-17-2019 11:56 PM

We all had our reservations about Danny McBride writing Halloween 54... maybe a comedian who hasn't been funny for ten years is the way to go if the franchise is dogshit anyway.

I'm betting it isn't.

Saw has been parodied enough already.

Seanny One Ball 05-18-2019 12:00 AM

Saw is a legitimately scary and good film. Every single sequel is beyond awful.

If anybody likes listening to commentary tracks Cary Elwes, James Wan and Leigh Whannel are hilarious during Saw. Maybe the funniest audio commentary there is.

Typical movie audience is 50% white, 15% black, 21% Hispanic. Black Panther was 35/37/18.

Point was there is money to be made in racially diverse movies. Now that Hollywood knows this, it's only natural that someone half-asses it thinking they'll get the same result as Get Out or Black Panther.

David Spade to remake The Omen, he's lined himself up for the role of Damien.

Race doesn’t really factor into my confusion.

Frank Drebin 05-24-2019 06:04 PM

What are you confused about?

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 06:25 PM

Chris Rock rebooting Saw.

It's just weird.

Frank Drebin 05-24-2019 09:53 PM

Oh. I thought he was directly responding to what I said. Carry on with the torture.

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 09:56 PM

Get a load of this guy!

Frank Drebin 05-24-2019 09:58 PM

Load

Seanny One Ball 05-24-2019 10:03 PM

I'm not happy with that. We both know that isn't up to standard.

This isn't a rehearsal Frank.

It has been announced that the new movie in the Saw franchise will star Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson. Rock will play a police detective investigating a series of grisly crimes and Jackson will portray Rock’s father. Also joining the cast will be Max Minghella who will play Rock’s parter, William Schenk, and Marisol Nichols, who will play Rock’s boss, Capt. Angie Garza. Production has begun on the currently untitled film.

The movie is being described as “a Saw experience” and was developed based on Rock’s love of the franchise. The film is being directed by Saw franchise veteran Darren Lynn Bousman and written by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg.
of course

Destor 07-08-2019 06:24 PM

Playing saw like a true detective movie sounds good.

If that were the case Id rather an 8 part series than a 100 minute movie, but whatever

Seanny One Ball 07-08-2019 09:20 PM

Chris Rock and Sam L. I couldn't be less excited about but Max Minghella is a good wee talent and I like him in everything I have seen him in. He plays smug quite well, he actually reminds me a bit of Topher Grace but with a bit more natural charm and ease with himself.
