Wrestlers accused of sexual assault

David Starr has been accused of sexual assault and gaslighting from multiple ex-girlfriends. Irish-based promotion OTT has already stripped him of their World Title and I'm pretty sure he's gonna be fired by just about every place he works today.

Jordan 06-18-2020 09:32 AM

I bet he goes to Khali's promotion in India.

Evil Vito 06-18-2020 03:15 PM

Mikey Whiplash, Kid Fite, and Ligero are being outed by their female trainees as sex pests now as well.

Bad News Gertner 06-18-2020 03:29 PM

totally read that as Mikey Whipwreck

Evil Vito 06-18-2020 03:33 PM

lol I did that too, was so confused as to why loads of British and Scottish women's wrestlers were speaking out against hi,

slik 06-18-2020 05:55 PM

Don't want anyone to lose their job but sort of hope WWE implodes more soon....otherwise greedy capitalist Vince will just keep trying to expand and create more shows and nxt regions....

in a 'perfect world' only 1 wwe show a week would exist and it would be 2 hrs long...so much less time commitment to be a fan + how can you ever get new fans if it involves watching like 9 hrs of tv a week and more if there are ppvs....

Add Joe Coffey and Jordan Devlin to the list of wrestling scumbags getting outed today.

Devlin more so of him being abusive towards a one woman and Coffey for being a huge creep and stalker.

Corporate CockSnogger 06-18-2020 06:19 PM

Aren’t like 90% of wrestlers scumbags?

Emperor Smeat 06-18-2020 06:36 PM

Probably since you could probably expose almost any notable wrestler for something bad they did in the past if you go far back enough, especially in the age of social media.

Difference being the level of scumbagness being committed by that wrestler. Like its one thing for a wrestler to simply be mean spirited towards someone(s) but its another when it starts to involve physical and mental abuse.

Probably...over time almost every wrestler seems to be some scumbag, massive carny or both

British Wrestling stars accused of sexual assualt

Several people have spoken out, apparently in the wake of the sexual abuse allegations against David Starr, accusing several people within the UK scene of various forms of misconduct.

Among the accusations are accusations by Natalie Sykes that El Ligero, who trained her, sexually harassed her on multiple instances. Sykes claims that Ligero began making sexual comments that mader her uncomfortable and while at first she tried to “laugh it off so he wouldn’t get mad at me,” the situation escalated to where he began trying to control her private relationships and psychoanalyze her relationship with her father. Sykes alleges that while doing this, Ligero “compared himself to being my father figure whilst also joking about sleeping with me.” She alleges that Ligero became verbally and mentally abusive to her and that it caused her considerable mental distress, noting, “I hate the person I was during that year and a half.” In a follow-up post, she shares a message from someone else who notes that Ligero did a similar thing to them.

Mikey Whiplash (not to be confused with ECW alum Mikey Whipwreck) is also facing accusations after several women released a statement through the @WrestlingNoContext Twitter account alleging that Whiplash has made unwanted sexual advances, sent unsolicited messages to female trainees and workers, gaslighted women and “even becoming physically violent with a number of women.” Whiplash was the promoter for Fierce Females, an all-women’s promotion in Scotland, who the women say is an unsafe environment due to Whiplash. NXT UK’s Piper Niven posted in support of these statements with an “It’s Time” message and noting, “I feel like we are all just waiting for someone else to go first. I’m scared too, I see you and I love you.”

Fierce Females’ co-owner Naveda Rose has posted in response to the allegations against Whiplash, noting at first, “I also own Fierce Females and this is obviously pretty deeply disturbing. I don’t want to silence anyone. This is the first I’m hearing this stuff, so I’m gonna start trying to see what is going on. This is obviously serious stuff and I don’t want an unsafe platform.” She followed up a few hours later noting that Whiplash is no longer part of Fierce Females, adding, “I take the voices and rights of women to have a safe platform incredibly seriously, so going forward I’ll be running it on my own.”

The allegations aren’t just being made by women. Both MJ Maxx and Jake Long have accused longtime referee James Finn of sexually harassing them. Maxx alleges that Finn harassed him in October of 2019, while Long says his experiences with Finn happened twice, both in 2017. Long’s are more specific, alleging that Finn tried to grope him when he thought Long was asleep.

Among the other allegations are claims by wrestler Gracie Lou Freebush that referee Marc “Paz” Perry has sent unwanted explicit pictures to herself and at least two other woman, and a lengthy thread by former ring announcer Lisa Gifford detailing various experiences of sexual harassment from talent and fans within the UK scene. Sierra Loxton has also alleged that Joe Coffey has sexually harrassed her as well as three other women by sending unsolicited nude photos and voice notes, as well as stalking them.

You can see the many posts about this below. NXT UK’s Pete Dunne has posted about the situation, noting that he is “disgusted by what I’m reading. Well done to those speaking out. I really hope we can make British wrestling a better place and keep everyone safe. This is a huge eye opener and let’s hope it will force a big change.”

Lots of names floating around on Twitter at the moment of prominent individuals in the British wrestling scene, including several signed to NXT UK, who are being accused of improper sexual conduct. Seems to be many cases from female wrestlers.

Have also seen tweets mentioning a list of 45 wrestlers, and have seen Will Ospreay mentioned as one of them.

Looks pretty bleak. Obviously thoughts to all those who have been affected, and certainly could be the end of a few careers after this.

Seanny One Ball 06-18-2020 08:07 PM

This would never have happened to the women of The World Of Sport era.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-18-2020 08:14 PM

Add Jimmy Havok to the shitty people pile. His ex posted a long disturbing post about her threatened her with harming himself to keep her in line.

Emperor Smeat 06-18-2020 08:17 PM

Current rumor going around the net is WWE is holding an emergency meeting over their NXT UK brand due to the growing number of accusations there.

Seems on the US side, Jake Hager and a writer from website Uproxx have popped up among those being accused. Also the longtime underage rumors involving Marty Scurll and Joey Ryan have resurfaced again.

9-post thread claiming that Jim Cornette and his wife Stacey have forced talent to perform sexual acts on Stacey while Jim watched as a condition to getting OVW bookings.

Emperor Smeat 06-18-2020 08:41 PM

Joey Janela hinted at that rumor a couple months ago when him and Cornette were feuding online.

I’ve succeeded!!! Do I get a gift card? Atleast invite me to a hot tub party! Like the ones you and your wife used to have with the OVW boys?
— “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela (@JANELABABY) March 21, 2020

Also add Tyler Bate and NWA's David Lagana to the list of notable wrestling people currently being accused. Pete Dunne might be the only one out of British Strong Style who isn't a creep considering the past underage rumors with Trent Seven.

Vastardikai 06-18-2020 08:55 PM

You would think this would have come out MUCH sooner, considering how, you know, Corny is certainly hated by a notable portion of the audience.

And then there's the whole bit that, for the longest time, OVW was a feeder for the WWE. So maybe there's something to it not coming out sooner, or maybe it's just bullshit.

Bad News Gertner 06-18-2020 08:58 PM

Lol what the hell is happening!?!?!?!

Bad News Gertner 06-18-2020 09:00 PM

Memphis wrestling is getting pretty nervous right about now lol

Mix of people not finding the courage to speak up at the time and Cornette not being shy to threaten legal action whenever he feels his name is being damaged.

The shady stuff with WWE's developmental system isn't new considering they turned a blind eye to the bad stuff Bill Demott was doing back then until it became too public to ignore. Plus Vince back then pretty much didn't really care what was going on in developmental as long as it produced him a couple new stars for the main roster each year. Only reason Cornette got fired back then was due to Vince and co. finding out Cornette physically attacked a trainee and could have been on the hook for a potential lawsuit.

That is very plausible. At the same time, it's just something so specifically weird that you'd think that there would be certain folks who would have had no reason NOT to put on full blast (Santino hinted at some things to his face, as well). Between him, the little snide comments from Trash Canella, etc. You'd have thunk it would have been a huge thing to go with against such a relatively soft target.

Evil Vito 06-18-2020 09:23 PM

I think the combination of lockdown, Sierra Loxton not having to worry about losing bookings for it now that she's retired, and David Starr being a big enough name to really get the ball rolling, has been almost a perfect storm to make people finally feel comfortable to speak out.

Emperor Smeat 06-18-2020 09:49 PM

Yeah this being a "perfect storm" situation makes it a lot easier for people to feel comfortable going public and set in motion a tidal wave of accusations to roll in without someone being the sole focus of backlash. Without that storm, someone might be more hesitant out of fear in going public against someone who is more well known.

Same happened with the #MeToo movement where it took that first person or two to get the ball rolling for others to get the courage to stand up as well. Even the recent protests over the death of George Floyd quickly snowballed into a bigger movement over police brutality and racism.

slik 06-18-2020 09:55 PM

Is Kip Sabian still safe

Praying Kip is not really 'super bad'

slik 06-18-2020 09:55 PM

No bad stories about Finn either, whew

Triple A 06-18-2020 10:03 PM

Vaguely heard something about Jim Cornette having wrestlers have sex with his wife... don't feel like reading any details but I think it's fine if Cornette and his wife want her to be pounded by wrestlers if the wrestlers were in2 it !

slik 06-18-2020 10:10 PM

Horny Corny is my new nickname for James E's wife

Damian Rey 2.0 06-18-2020 10:21 PM

I'm now very interested to see if Cornette has anything to say about this on his podcast.

slik 06-18-2020 10:25 PM

Isn't there a story about the time Stacy Cornette got her vagina pierced and told OVW Brock Lesnar to be careful when picking her up for a gorilla slam and Brock thought it would be funny so he squeezed her vagina really hard when she was up in the air and she started crying because of intense vaginal pain from Brock's big squeeze??

I wonder if Jim Cornette ever asked Brock to fuck his wife while he watched.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-18-2020 10:37 PM

LMFAO @Slik

Anyways, if this ball keeps rolling I'm gonna throw out 2 names that'll get dragged through the mud:

Jim Ross. I dunno why but I just have the feeling. We've all heard him be a little creepy with the ladies on his podcast.

And Ric Flair but it's on-brand and I feel like everybody knows. But since it's a #MeToo thing, it'll be brought to light.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-18-2020 10:41 PM

I wonder if Noid is going to go to great lengths defending his hero, Mr. Cornette. If so, I look forward to the mental gymnastics.

Emperor Smeat 06-18-2020 10:46 PM

Based on Ross' Twitter activity, he's gotten a lot more hornier ever since his wife died so I wouldn't be surprised at all if he did something inappropriate in recent times.

Like following him on Twitter for any length of time and your bound to get him casually posting his thirst over someone or flat out posting NSFW-like tweets and links.

Ryan Satin had a similar problem as well where he'd be tweeting or retweeting stuff to porn stars and not realizing everyone else could see it.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-18-2020 10:49 PM

lol JR promoted Sunny's porn business in a retweet w/comment.

slik 06-18-2020 10:52 PM

Jim Ross is hornier than a government toad

Vastardikai 06-18-2020 10:55 PM

Another one: Vince McMahon.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-18-2020 10:56 PM

Vince has already been outed years ago but it didn't go anywhere probably because of McDevitt. Wonder if it will resurface.

slik 06-18-2020 10:57 PM

Yeah I think the last Vince one was around mid 2000s and involved a suntanning place

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-18-2020 11:01 PM

It's almost pointless outing Vince because his reputation is already so bad and he'd just lawyer it away. Unless it was like Cosby, which is unlikely.
