Sports stuff is definitely luxury purchases, ie not necessary by any means. I usually chuck it into the category of "things I'll throw on my Visa without thinking and then wonder why I have a $2k bill this month" and then regret everything I've ever done ever. Buy the jerseys from China. Like $40 each and look/feel identical.

A friend of mine got me to try the $30 special Chinese jerseys during the summer. Impressive how well they copy all the logos and patches, but I ordered a 1996 Selanne Winnipeg Jets jersey and the jersey is sized smaller than it should be / smaller than the "Large" tag on it, and the head hole is huuuuuge, like half way down my chest open, looks ridiculous. Tiny short sleeves + huge head hole.

Also got a 1987 Canada Cup Lemieux jersey - good fit and finish there, except the Canada logo is smaller than it should be. Either way, can't complain for the price, gave me 2 jerseys that I can wear and not worry about ruining, unlike my other $100-$200 replica jerseys that I never want to get sweaty playing hockey in. :p

How Paul Holmgren hasn't been taken out by a sniper is beyond me. He's an awful GM.
