But, is it better than Fortnite?!

I like it a lot more than Fortnite. Feels closer to Blackout in terms of polish, and the UI.

Adding characters with special abilities as well as the risk/reward of respawning teamates adds a unique touch to it.

This is good.

Within 24 hours, they managed to gain around 2 million players for the game.

I've played all the popular battle royal games, but none of them really hooked me until now. Addicted to this game.

This is really good.

I might give it a try.

My brother is obsessed with the battle royal games and gets every one that comes out. This one seems like mix between Call of Duty and Fortnight just from watching him play.

Probably so, he doesn't play Overwatch but I've seen people cosplay as the characters at comic cons and they do look similar the Apex characters.

Either I’m really lucky or the lootboxes take into account who you use, because I’ve gotten 2 legendary skins and a legendary banner for my main.

Respawn promised no duplicates ever. So that right there makes the big stuff more common.

I don't play battle royale games, but even if that is true, I suspect there still must be some degree of RNG (random-number generator) luck involved.

Accureing the blue currency seems to be where you hit the pay wall, as you gain it much more slowly than the red. Nothing you unlock with it that cant be gained through loot boxes though, so it’s still fair.

Also Respawn posted, in-game, the exact probability of the lootboxes (paid ones at least). They are truly being transparent about this.

Besides generating cheap good will, its probably also due to EA backing down on their brash stance with loot boxes. Last thing EA needs is to get hit with another big gambling controversy any time soon.

Their FUT system in the FIFA series is still their worst ever micro-transaction system since that one has been the main source of phishing attacks on Xbox Live and other services for years.

Actually Respawn has a good track record with this, making a similar stance with Titanfall 2 well before the Battlefront debacle.

According to Respawn Entertainment, Apex currently has around 25 million players since its launch last week. In terms of most concurrent players, that number reached a peak of around 2 million at some point over the weekend.

I decided to start playing it, I'm enjoying it if anyone ever wants to squad up, I'm usually always on, just invisible most of the time.

Respawn currently facing some complaints in regards to the handling of their Valentine's Day themed event today. The company released 3 limited time items with 1 as a freebie as long as you achieve a certain in-game condition and the others as paid items.

The main issue involves the pricing of the items since the way the in-game economy is handled means you have to spend about $30 to get the 2 skins that actually cost $20 total. Its all due to the items also include Apex Coins which Respawn is not giving away as a gift.

I forgot the name of the tactic but it's very common in mobile games and now with anything doing virtual currency. You can't transfer 1:1 the value of real money to the minimum equal value of the virtual currency. Bungie got shit for this when they introduced Silver Dust.

Fortnite has a similar problem when it comes to pricing and minimum amount of V-Bucks you can purchase from their in-game store.

Even though they constantly sell a lot of 200 and 500 V-Bucks items, can't buy $1 or $5 from their store and instead the minimum is $10.

Aparently this game managed to expose a big privacy leak that is currently being caused by EA's Origin Client. Also being suggested that you disable a specific option in your profile as soon as possible.

Also being speculated that due to EA's expansion of their Origin service, its very likely other EA published games have also been leaking personal data online as well.

I didnt get my point across well there.

What i'm trying to say is that EA expected Anthem to sell 6 million copies i believe. And it's cratering badly. Apex however is becoming the next big deal in Battle Royal and is under EA. It wouldnt shock me if they tried to recoup expected income by installing shitty pay to play, type tactics to Apex other than what's already on the game.

Basically what i'm saying is EA is a shithole of a company.

Suppose it comes down to this weekend when the battle pass is rumored to start the first season. So far the dumbest thing is $18 skins and loot boxes getting scarce after a certain level.

Ahaha 18 dollar skins. Fucking no shame.

It's really absurd to me given that 90% of the time you're in 1st person and you're basically paying $18 to check out your neat hand wear. Fighting games where you can enjoy alt costumes all the time never come near $18 dollars, in fact that kind of price would net you a bunch of costumes for different characters. And even with Fortnite it's a 3rd person game and you can see what you got.

I think a skin in street fighter is 4.99, and comes with 12 color schemes.

Blame the whales. They only need a few of em.

People are setting their consoles region to Belgium so they can get crafting materials instead of loot boxes from the battle pass.

Imagine that. Paying money and getting what you want instead of a 7% chance of getting what you want.
