STAMFORD, Conn. — After a three-year suspension, Hulk Hogan has been reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame. This second chance follows Hogan’s numerous public apologies and volunteering to work with young people, where he is helping them learn from his mistake. These efforts led to a recent induction into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame.

Welcome back Hulk!

Maluco 07-15-2018 04:00 PM

If he has really worked to redeem himself and is genuinely repentant and has learned from his behaviour, no reason why he shouldn't be allowed back in. Stupid comments and am sure many fans were let down by them, but hopefully he has learned and become a better person because of it all.

He is a living legend, so nice to enjoy him while he is still around.

Reinstated into an imaginary hall of fame. :shifty:

Hulk spoke w/ the WWE wrestlers backstage in Pittsburgh, site of tonight's EXTREME RULES event:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Just met with the <a href="https://twitter.com/WWE?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@WWE</a> Superstars and on all levels the volume of love and support was overwhelming. I’ve been praying for this day and I finally feel like I made it back home. Only Love 4 the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/WWEUNIVERSE?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#WWEUNIVERSE</a> brother HH</p>&mdash; Hulk Hogan (@HulkHogan) <a href="https://twitter.com/HulkHogan/status/1018589061852917766?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 15, 2018</a></blockquote>

I believe all the wrestlers that have gone to bat for him speaks volumes. A guy as well respected as Booker T has nothing to gain by doing so, yet he did, and that means something.

The fact is the dude did say racist things at the low point in his life, kid in jail, getting divorced, ect. That is not excusing the behavior, but he was punished by WWE keeping him away for 3+ years.

I think that, along with all the charity work he has done, the fact that he owned up to it, and seems truly remorseful, I don't think you punish him forever.

None of this matters.

If Roman Polanski gets to keep his Oscar, who gives a fuck?

It really doesnt, you can't erase history with symbolic gestures.

Yeah Reggie Bush got some money, but just cause the NCAA says nobody won the Heisman in 2005, Reggie Bush won it. I remember, he has an amazing year.

Hulk Hogan dropped a couple N Bombs about one person He hated. He hates one person who he choose to use a vile racist slur about to convey his hatred.

Had he called the guy a dickhead, nobody would have cared. Alas, that isn't what he said.

Droford 07-15-2018 06:11 PM

He said "nigger", big fucking deal. That's like the fucking Voldemort of slurs for some fucking reason or other. Had he said wop or mick or something along those lines it wouldn't have had half the press that "nigger" did.

The GOAT is on his way back! Gonna add some actual star power to the shows and make them seem like a big deal. Let him take the title off Lesnar and hold it for a year without ever defending it. FUCK IT.

Emperor Smeat 07-15-2018 11:26 PM

Not surprised considering its been rumored ever since he got kicked out that Vince wanted him reinstated as soon as possible and didn't really want to do it in the first place.

The real test is going to be when he inevitably shows up on tv or at an event and how big the backlash it generates.

Mr. Nerfect 07-16-2018 03:13 AM

This is something that was inevitable and isn't something I've been particularly interested in, but now that it's been announced I just think "Gross" and it feels like more of a reason to just not give a shit about this promotion.

Dave Meltzer notes that Hogan apologized to everyone for the racist rant that led to Hogan being fired from WWE in July 2015. Meltzer added that there were wrestlers cheering for Hogan and congratulating and hugging him.

PWInsider first reported the details of Hogan's apology. They wrote that Hogan reminded everyone to always think about what they're saying and that, in today's day and age, "they have to remember that there are always cameras everywhere and they could be recorded even when they don't realize they are."

Something about the reactions comes off as a bit weird. Like something you wouldn't actually expect to be that festive in tone but then again, WWE made it weird to begin with how they mishandled things.

Even one of the main lessons from his speech feels a bit off going by PWI's part. Like its great that he apologized and realized his error but also sort of blamed the camera for being outed as a racist instead of having those views to begin with.

Mr. Nerfect 07-16-2018 03:38 AM

It reminds me of the David Cross joke "First of all, I forgot them microphones was on..."

It's just more PR hippy-dippy bullshit. "He's learnt his lesson. He won't ever say those things publicly again. Now we can all be a happy family...or else." Like, what is a black roster member supposed to say? If they're cool with it -- good for them, I guess. If they're not, are they really going to go up to Vince and Triple H and say "I don't like this"? It's got that "hands-tied, play ball" feeling to it. And let's not pretend that there was an actual suspension or that this is part of some ongoing process of healing. They distanced themselves and now they want him back because they have no real stars.

It's got that Saudi propaganda feeling to it, and just like that, I do hope it blows back in their face at some point, just because I am now actively root against this company.

Bad News Gertner 07-16-2018 08:44 AM

I hope they make Hogan the trouble-shooting GM of Raw.

slik 07-16-2018 08:48 AM

Would prefer Hogan to Angle 100% tbh

Bad News Gertner 07-16-2018 08:58 AM

If any heel gives him shit, Hogan drops the leg brother!

slik 07-16-2018 09:01 AM

KO getting legdropped brotherjack

Owen Hart's death, Stinkface, Drug abuse, firing JR, Chris Benoit, and driving out CM Punk.

Hogan saying racist shit isn't really a big deal.

Shisen Kopf 07-16-2018 10:16 AM

Hogan should join Titus Worldwide and become the HNIC

Hogan ain't getting booed when he returns. If anything, the company will probably wait to run a "Hogan friendly city" like Detroit or Toronto for his return. Hogan could lead a second Holocaust and get cheered in Toronto.

Shisen Kopf 07-16-2018 10:56 PM

i remember cheering Hogan at WM18. Good times.

Big E. Langston does sound better than Big E. Big E sounds like a euphemism.

Ol Dirty Dastard 07-17-2018 07:33 AM

I mean... neither name sounds like a main eventer, but he's from the time when they just came up with awful names. But "Big E." is not akin to a fucking slave name lmfao.
