Been news for a while now. Jon Chu was on it but it passed on to somebody else.

Hope it is better than the 90s remake. The last one was ok. But really Masters of the Universe 80s version doesn;t hold up. Bad animation, bad stories and forced in moral lessons in each episode. Plus it was nothing but a bad rip off of Blackstar. Which it seems no one besides me remembers.

Lock Jaw 03-16-2015 01:15 AM

Been enjoying The Last Man on Earth thus far....

I mean, looking past the lack of destruction and piles of strewn corpses that would come with a mass extinction event.

Kalyx triaD 03-22-2015 05:42 PM

It appears the X-Files shall return in a mini-series.

XL 03-22-2015 07:17 PM

Yessssssssssss!!

XL 03-22-2015 07:17 PM

As long as it's better than I Want To Believe.

Kalyx triaD 03-22-2015 07:49 PM

Oh if the 3rd movie is any indication they're focusing on The Mythology from now on. I'm sure the miniseries will do some Monster of the Week stuff, too.

Droford 03-22-2015 08:14 PM

3rd movie?

Kalyx triaD 03-22-2015 08:44 PM

Yeah Chris Carter's had the 3rd movie written out for years now, and has been lobbying for Fox to jump on it. All details revealed show that they're wanting to get back into the Mythology after the criticism of the second movie. It's probable that the miniseries will come in lieu of a third movie and cover the same story beats (in fact that would be cheaper anyway).

Fignuts 03-23-2015 07:31 PM

Nope. Still can't take Tom Cruise seriously after all his shenannigans. Same with Mel Gibson. Glad they got Hardy for Mad Max.

Kalyx triaD 03-23-2015 07:46 PM

That's Ethan Hunt, tho.

McLegend 03-23-2015 10:06 PM

Tom Cruise is awesome.

Requiem 03-24-2015 06:31 PM

Mel Gibson is also awesome.

The Beaver, and Get the Gringo were great. Mel Gibson still knows how to make good movies.

Kalyx triaD 03-24-2015 09:44 PM

The trick is to not give a fuck about these actors personal lives/views.

Fignuts 03-24-2015 10:04 PM

I try not to. I really really do. But every time I see Tom Cruise, I just immediately see him jumping up and down on Oprah's couch like a huge weirdo.

It's ingrained into my mind.

McLegend 03-25-2015 07:49 PM

You must try harder.

McLegend 03-25-2015 07:54 PM

Also I like Steve Harvey as the host of family feud. I enjoy him.

Kalyx triaD 03-25-2015 08:08 PM

His hatred of atheists doesn't change the fact that he's a funny mother fucker.

Sony hired a new script writer for their Metal Gear Solid film project. Its been in development since 2012 but hasn't passed the very early pre-production stage.

Quote:

Sony Pictures have reportedly hired writer Jay Basu to write the script for the movie. Basu, who co-wrote a movie called Monsters: Dark Continent that released last year, is apparently an in-demand up-and-coming writer.

From The Arrow to everyone's favorite baseball bat wielding, hockey mask wearing vigilante, Stephen Amell has been cast as Casey Jones in TMNT 2.

Kalyx triaD 03-31-2015 10:55 PM

I love that casting. But BEEBOP AND ROCKSTEADY THO

ClockShot 04-02-2015 08:36 PM

Apparently reviving television shows in the new trend these days.

A rumor that might become reality, but Full House is getting the revival treatment over on Netflix. "Fuller House" will star Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy).

Fuckkk, David Lynch has pulled out of Twin Peaks season 3.

Rumors of Disney and Microsoft working together on an animated film project with Banjo Kazooie being involved. The writing team for Wreck It Ralph was teased to be working on the script.

Could end up as either an actual Banjo Kazooie film or more likely being a guest star for Wreck It Ralph 2.

Kalyx triaD 04-06-2015 09:33 PM

Probably the latter. In no way is Banjo getting a movie ages after his heyday.

Warner Bros recently bought the rights to make a Five Nights at Freddy's film.

EA managed to get some investors on board to help convince Dreamworks to get a new Need for Speed film to be made.

Quote:

According to Variety, a Need for Speed movie sequel is in the works, with various Chinese partners and Electronic Arts playing important roles. The project isn't yet greenlit, however; Dreamworks owns the rights to a sequel, and a deal would have to be negotiated to secure them.

The fact that Chinese partners are involved seemingly indicates the direction for the next installment. Early reports peg this Need for Speed as being filmed mostly in China, and made up of a cast that's comprised largely of the nation's actors. This is likely due to the fact that the original saw a large chunk of its proceeds, $65 million, come from audiences in China.

Apparently the BBC is working on a drama-documentary for the Grand Theft Auto series with Daniel Radcliffe being considered for the lead role as the boss of Rockstar Games.

Quote:

According to the report, Radcliffe is in talks to play the part of Sam Houser, the co-founder and president at Rockstar Games. The film is apparently going to be focused at least in part on Rockstar Games feud with anti-videogame lawyer Jack Thompson.

I'll definitely give it a looked. Enjoyed the first one.

Kalyx triaD 04-11-2015 01:25 PM

Rather see stuff like this, Mama, and Babadook than the torture shit that basically killed horror the last ten years. Insidious does nothing for me, though.

Droford 04-15-2015 08:04 AM

The JustifiEd finale seemed both appropriate and disappointing. Going to miss it.

Sony's been trying to get a collaboration deal done with Nintendo for years with Pokemon and Smash Bros as main focus for possible films. Last meeting happened around the same time Sony and Marvel were working on a new deal for the Spiderman series.

Emperor Smeat 04-17-2015 05:57 PM

Apparently Sony's been wanting to do a bunch of gaming-related movies with them also trying to get a collaboration deal done with Activision. Would have involved either Call of Duty and/or Skylanders getting a film made.

Unlike with the Nintendo stuff, the Activision films were more of ideas than actual talks with the company.

Quote:

Skylanders, Rothman said, could possibly be a giant LEGO Movie-type film. Call of Duty, while Rothman said would be hard to use, would still be worth it because of the franchise’s popularity.

The B list consisted of Diablo, Destiny and Castle Wolfenstein. There were “a bunch of Cs,” but Rothman didn’t outline them.

Sony also came really close to losing the Sonic film rights when they were rumored to be trying to sell off Columbia Pictures. Sega didn't want the movie studio to be sold to another video game company with rumors of Activision and Microsoft being somewhat interested.
